The last time Catheryne remembered being in a position like this, was during their community service back then where some of the other groups show recklessness and selfishness with their deeds just to have what they wanted, or she could say this thing they're assigned to get right now is very precious to anyone. As far as she knows, there are currently three different established organizations arising from each direction who wanted this cure. The Howard Organization which is located in the eastern side of the city. News has already scattered that if they get this thing on their bare hands, they will give this to those who are worthy of it and eliminate those who aren’t. There will be trials made by them. They were also known for the tiger symbol that was placed either on their palms or wrists.
The second organization from the west is Ethernal, being symbolized with a red flame on their foreheads, which also has the goal of erasing all those around them, except those who joined theirs. They have the largest population as of now. They also wanted to build a new government with a strong foundation, where they can rule and move according to their terms. Lastly, the Trinity from the south, where she belongs. The main goal behind getting that cure is for them to give them to everyone - both those who are in high and low positions. They’re represented by the Three Dots at their arms. It wasn't a selfish one, but she wouldn’t say it will be the best solution they got. But it’s a great chance for them to get what was taken from them. For now, there are no signs of new organizations from the north side.
"Didn't know you made some steps together with your pups to get closer here, Isabela." A woman wearing a black fitted sleeveless and a pair of tight jeans appeared from the darkness just a few meters from the room we entered. Behind her are her troops composed with over 20 in numbers. No, it’s like 30's. She laughed as she walked towards our direction, swaying her shaft freely on her side.
She looked at Isabela, and saw a grin on her face, but more to that she was irritated.
"You even made a hole to catch up on us. Don’t you think, Devian?"
The woman crossed her arms and whistled. She was toying. The tension between the two groups is getting out of hand. Everyone was on guard and aware of their surroundings, ready for combat and fire anytime. This is not a good time to enjoy the conversation, but it’s better to have a try in befriending and taming the enemy. It’s a good way to get some necessary information that will backfire on their goal somehow.
"Of course, we got lots of fun digging some for you. Just be careful or you’ll be trap. Well, we can still clear these things out in a peaceful way. Just hand that over to us, and you’ll leave this place at ease."
Suddenly, small claps were heard just a few meters away from us again. Slowly, a man in his dark blue tuxedo appeared and walked to our direction. He was not wearing any form of weapons, which was odd. Maybe he put his entire trust in his team.
"Having a lovely chitchat my ladies? Will you mind if I join? It’s been quite some time since I've seen such beautiful creatures." He said, putting both his hands under his pockets. This man was totally intimidating. He just turned the tables and made all the attention on him. "I thought those creatures are dead. I guess the gods are still giving you the hope to live." He added.
"Alejandro. I didn’t expect you'll be here too. Did you get another informant to enter our bases?" Devian asked. The man stared at her and chuckled.
"Oh my, I didn’t expect either that you’re into hypothetical actions now. Are you trying to read my mind?"
"Enough! This is bullshit. You know we got the cure first. The rule was there. The first one to get something will be theirs. That was the one we agreed to before." Isabella frankly said and snapped her finger.
That’s it! That was the signal. Catheryne slowly locked the case where the drug was put. She made smaller steps backwards, making them unrecognizable from the devils' eyes. The other members in front of her were consciously moving enough for them not to see what was happening at the back.
Rubbing his chin, Alejandro was standing still with his comrades. He got thirty-five members on their mission. Right now, we are outnumbered. And everyone knows, Isabela also realized that.
"I didn’t remember that agreement. Let me recall it in my memory. Mmm...oh...mmm.. nah forget it. I don’t agree. Do you?" Alejandro pointed his index finger to Devian.
The woman smirked. "Neither do I. I’m sorry, Isabela, but that agreement is in total fakery."
The two organizations are walking towards the Trinity like rescaled wolves who are in great starve for shedding blood. They are cornering us, their bountiful preys.
"Run! And don’t let them get that thing!" Isabela shouted and that was the time when Catheryne asked for some courage above and set forth to run at the long corridors of the hospital. The lights were flickering as she heads back to the main entrance door.
Someone is coming. Her conscious told her. After all, she was trained for this mission. It wasn’t a simple one, that’s why she needed to keep herself on alert for anything that would happen. A shut was heard from a distance where Isabela and the others are gathered. She held the case tight with her hand and continue to run. There were only two members that followed Catheryne, guarding her. All of a sudden, someone jumped from above at the right side, giving them some swift strikes and aimed for the case.
She got it. The box was thrown unexpectedly on the other side and appeared that Catheryne made herself in meeting this unknown person in front of her. She was wearing that crimson scarf that was placed around her neck, which covered her mouth. She was also having those tattered black jeans, which exposed her bruised blooded knees to them. They were watching each other intently.
“As always, you set your feet ahead of others, Runner.” The lady muttered as she caught her own breath. She was worn out, probably she just joined the fight with the other teams. As of now, they got the cards to win, knowing she’s just a one-man out of three. But to her dismay, she turned to look at the other members who followed her and saw that the woman had already hit them hard to the grounds.
Catheryne didn’t recognize the woman. She had no other significant signs that are placed on any parts of her body.
“Who are you?” She calmly asked. The woman never gave her the intention of giving an answer to her question.
“That thing is ours. Yield and you’ll never perish.” The woman bluntly said.
She looked at the case, where the cure is being sealed for safety. It’s just a few steps away from her. She needs to get that or else this mission will be a failure. She didn’t listen to the woman and instead, she ran as fast as she can to grab it, but is caught forthwith by the woman and kicked her by the face that made her stumbled back. Blood rapidly started to drip from her nose. The woman attentively grabbed the case, keeping the fragile thing inside secured at all cost.
Catheryne couldn’t think of another way but to engage in battle. She raised and composed herself. She has trained this for a while now and she knew there’s no escape route but to face the woman and get that thing. She snatched a dagger from one of her pockets and slashed it directly to the woman and was able to cut the scarf from her neck and made it fall on the ground. But in an instant, the woman made her moves and was able to dodge it. In return, she gave Catheryne a harsh punch to her neck and suddenly dropped the dagger she was holding. She was choking. Catheryne held her neck tight and tried catching some air. She was in pain, tears began to fall. She couldn’t talk properly. The woman slowly walked to her and leaned to meet her gaze. She carefully removed the hair that was covering Catheryne’s face by tugging it properly behind her ear.
“If you think you’re ahead of us, then wake up from your own delusions or you’ll be in nuts just like those above us. Your persistence is just a tiny prick to us.” She patted her on the cheek and played the dagger in front of her face. “I’ll take this as a souvenir. And oh, the next time we meet again, I’ll surely let you see death.” The woman took the dagger together with the cure and immediately went outside the establishment without any trace, other than the tattoo that Catheryne saw a while ago on her neck.
