CHAPTER 1: Intruder?

Clicks… clicks… clicks… (camera shutter sound)
*Danbi’s POV*
I got out of the car, with my long hair done, make up, accessories, tight dress, and high heels. I waved to the camera with my best smile. I walked into the building, then reporters begin to asked me;
“Ms. Danbi, can you explain about the reports of medicine causing fatalities? Are you related to this case? How about Mr. Byung Ho, why has he been silent all this time?” they said.
I tried to ignore all the questions, I walk through but someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me, I almost fell down but suddenly my bodyguard held me from behind, he immediately threw the reporter’s hands and slightly pushed the reporter.
Woahh, what is this view…
I don’t remember his name though, who? Hee jun? Ho jun? Go jun? Whatever, anyway, me and my bodyguard walk to our dad’s office to clear the air.

(Park Byung Ho’s office a.k.a Dad’s office)
“Dad, can you explain to me what happened? I know nothing and the reporters are attacking me with questions” I asked my dad.
“Sorry, please wait outside and watch the door. I need to talk with my daughter for a bit. Thank you” he asked my bodyguard with a smile. Then my bodyguard stepped outside.
“Danbi, I also don’t know what happened, I’ve never received such report before. For now, I have stopped the production of the meds and withdraw it from the market, while figuring out the source of the problem” my dad answered me.
“But dad, we have thousands of cctv inside the building, can we figure something out from there?” I asked.
“We did, we got something really vague. But I think someone is messing with the ingredients” he replied.
“Seriously?? Who might do it? Are they insider?? Or maybe intruder??!!!” I replied.
“SSTTT... Danbi, please lower your voice. But for now, you can go to your office to work. We will figure this out, believe me. And don’t try to investigate it! Promise me! It’s my fight” my dad asked me.
“I know I can’t, alright, I’ll go for now. Good luck dad” I said, and left the room.
“Gojun, right?” I asked my bodyguard.
“It’s Hojun, Miss” he answered while pointing at his ID Card. Ooopsie my bad.
“Let’s go to my office” I said, and he walked right behind me.
“Messing with the ingredients? Who?” I mumbled.
“Miss, I’m sorry but I thought the Chairman forbid you to investigate” Hojun said.
“Eh? Did you eavesdrop us?” I looked back to face him.
“Not on purpose, Miss. I just happened to hear it” he gulped and replied me with poker face.
“Why so stiff… anyway, thank you for what you did earlier” I chuckled and we walk into the office.
“Hoammm. I’m sleepy. Why do I have to work this afternoon, plus... writing a report? C’mon dad I can do better” I talked to myself.
I sat on my chair then I looked at Hojun in confusion. He’s very good looking, why did he choose to be a bodyguard? He could be a celebrity. Then suddenly Hojun touched his ear, he’s listening to his walkie talkie.
“Miss, I am sorry I need to go to the security room, I think they got something” Hojun said.
“Wait!! Please report to me, Hojun” I asked him.
“As long as you don’t plan to investigate, I’ll report it to you” he smiled a little.
“Eiii…. Alright, I won’t. Please report to me” I answered, he bowed a little and walked out.

I fell asleep after doing the report. Why is Hojun taking so long? I waited for him for almost 3 hours. I have to go home and practice. Where is he…
And also, the room feels empty without him, even though I don’t really talk to him… but yeah, you know, it's good to have someone to accompany you.
Knock Knock…
“Come in” I said.
“Miss, sorry I’m late. Should we go now?” he asked.
“Report to me in the car? Hehehe” I asked him. He didn’t answer my question.
We walked to the car together, he didn’t say any single word. His face looks flat; so he didn’t want to report it to me. Aishh... I waited for nothing.

(at Danbi’s house)
“You can rest Hojun, I will go to my room. As always, thank you for your hard work today” I smiled at him.
He slightly bowed to me, and he walked away.
“Yahh!! You really won’t report to me? Anything???” I screamed. He looked surprise.
“We didn’t get any clue miss, sorry” he said.
“Liar… You went for almost 3 hours and got nothing? How am I supposed to believe that?” I replied.
He looked to the ground. Gotcha! I know his face when he’s lying.
“C’mon spit it out” I ask him.
“A… a stranger just entered our building, and he hid here and there, we couldn’t catch him. But the security tracked him from the CCTV, he went to the lab. But when we got to the lab, he wasn’t there. We lost him” Hojun said to me.
“So? What did you do next?” I asked.
“The Chairman ordered us to stop producing any medicine for the time being” he answered.
“… Okay. You can go. Thank you” I answered, and walked into my room.
So, someone really is messing up with our company. Is it him? That man who has a grudge against my dad? No way, he’s not in Korea, and there’s no news about him for the last 10 years. Do I overthink things?
I changed my clothes to a training set, I tied my hair while walking to the training area.
Ah… I forgot to mention, there is a secret door in my room.
It leads to a small hall, which has been covered with soundproof walls. This is the place where I train my taekwondo, judo, and shooting. Yep, I like these kind of things. I am not the feminine heiress that people know, and only my dad knows about this, I even manage to hide all of this from Hojun.
(9 PM)
I walk out of the room, and took a shower, I keep thinking about the intruder in my company. What should I do to help my dad. Why is he trying to destroy the company? Did we do something wrong to him? Who is he really?
Suddenly Hojun banged my door,
“Miss Danbi, are you awake?? Miss Danbi!” he shouted from outside.
I wear my bathrobe immediately and open the door,
“What happened? Why did you bang my door at this hour?” I asked him.
“The chairman…” he answered.
“What… what happened to my dad?” I asked him with trembling.
“He was stabbed when he walked out from the office” Hojun said.
My knees are weak; I couldn’t stand properly.
