CHAPTER 2: BUSTED

*Danbi’s POV*
“He was stabbed when he walked out from the office” Hojun said.
Why? Who the hell??!!!
“First, put your clothes on, I will take you to the hospital” Hojun adds.
He helped me up, and he went to start the car engine.
I was trembling while walking to the car… no, I am trembling all the way to the hospital.
Hojun drove me to the hospital, my dad is lying down in the emergency room. He was covered in blood.
The doctors and nurses surround him to treat him
I clenched my fist, and cried silently…
“Hojun, I want to stay here tonight, with my dad. You can go home” I said to Hojun.
“Then I’ll be here with you, Miss. Don’t worry too much, I know he’ll make it” Hojun said to me.
“Thank you” I replied.

(Hospital – Room 280)
“Dad, I am here, please wake up. Please, don’t make me worry. I have so many questions to ask, please wake up” I said while holding my dad’s hand.
He’s still unconscious, he lost too much blood yesterday. I cried next to him, I can’t believe this. This morning he was so healthy and now he’s lying in hospital’s bed.
“Miss Danbi, I brought you food” Hojun called me.
“Ah… Thank you Hojun” I wiped my tears and he gave me the food.
“Wait, you’re not eating?” I asked him.
“You can eat first Miss; I’ll eat later” Hojun said.
“No, no, no… eat with me… Please” I asked.
He looked at me with pity, he walked out of the room, and came back with his food. We ate together while sitting next to my dad.
“Hojun, who do you think it is?” I asked Hojun while eating.
“Miss, I don’t think you should invest…”
“How can I?” I cut him…
“You know, Miss. The chairman said it’s his fight. So you sho…”
“Heartless…” I cut him again and then I looked at him.
“How can a daughter let her father fight alone? Against someone or even a dangerous group like this... You want my dad to be stabbed all the time? Or do you want something worse??” I rose my voice.
“Miss, that’s not what I meant” he answered.
“… and this is not his fight, this is our fight!” I added.
“You don't want this to happen to your father, do you?” I asked him curtly.
“I… I don’t have a father” he looked at me.
“Oh… I… I’m sorry I didn’t know” I replied uncomfortably. Did I make him angry? Sad?
“I’ll wait outside, Miss” Hojun said, and he went outside.
“Dad, you’ve slept long enough, please wake up…” I said while holding my dad’s hand.
“Dad, I will catch him… or them. Every single one who dares to destroy your company. I promise. So please comeback healthier, and punish them yourself” I added.

I fell asleep, and I woke up next to my father. I realized that I have a blanket on my back. Did Hojun did this? Is he still angry? Where is he now?
I need to do this… I will find them.
“I’m sorry dad, please let me do this. I can’t just stand still” I kissed dad’s forehead before I go
When I open the door, I can’t find Hojun anywhere. Maybe he went home?
I rode a taxi to my house, I need to change my clothes and bring all my equipment.
After I brought everything, I rushed to the office. I have to confirm whether there is another movement or not tonight.

(2 AM)
(at YURIHAN building)
“Miss Danbi? What brings you here?” asked one of the security guard on the front foor.
“I have something left in the office” I answered them and smiled.
“Eh? It’s 2 AM in the morning Miss” he asked.
“C’mon, I need it now. Open the door please” I said.
They looked at me in confusion but they let me in, at last.
I began to look around in every direction, I held my gun tightly, but I got nothing.
Finally, I arrived at the lab. I hold the door knob to open it, but suddenly I saw flashlight at a glance.
I stepped back, someone’s in there for sure.
Gotcha…
I open the door very carefully not to make a sound. I took out my gun, and began to walk slowly. I searched every corner of the room. I go to the storage room where they keep the medicines, I can feel a small movement in the room. Suddenly someone pointed a gun at my head.
“Drop your gun, or I’ll shoot” he said.
I slowly dropped my gun while thinking of another way. I quickly turn my head and grab his gun.
I punched him in the face, and try to push him.
But he grabbed my arm and he twisted my arm.
I kicked him hard, he came to me and pushed me to the wall.
I punched him in the stomach and I took out a knife from my pocket. I tried to stab him but he got away.
He managed to dodge every swing I made and he blocked my movement.
“HOW DARE YOU STABBED MY DAD!!!” I scream while running to him to stab him.
But he stopped my hand and turn on the flashlight to light my face.
“Miss Danbi?” he asked in confusion.
I look at him in confusion
“Eh? H… HOJUN??!!” I gasped.
He released the grip and I put my knife down too.
“What are you doing miss??” Hojun asked.
“I should have asked you the same question! What are you doing here?!” I asked him.
“I… The chairman assigned security guards to guard this place and check everything especially at night. So all security guards are here” he answered me.
“Ah…I see” I said to him.
“I am sorry” I said.
“But why are you here?? Are you here to investigate? The chairman said you shouldn’t. Plus, why don’t you in the hospital? This is a dangero… wait, did you just fight me?” he asked me.
He took a couple steps back,
“You were the one who fight me? Right?” he gasped.
“I… I did. Sorry” I said to him.
“With gun and knife too?” he asked again.
“I… did” I answered.
“Where did you learn all of this? No… why? No, no, since when???” he attacked me with questions.
“I…”
“Why didn’t I notice any of this?? I'm always beside you. What the…” he added.
