Chapter 20: Sara“You’re just being paranoid.”
Sara sighed. Her mom sounded irritated again, probably over something her father had said or done. Or failed to say or do. It didn’t sound as though this particular fight had anything to do with Kerstin staying with them, however. What did paranoia have to do with anything?
At least the pressure was off her while her mom was directing her ire toward her dad, but it was not overly pleasant in the house with the constant tension between her parents. Not for the first time did she wish she had the kind of relationship with her mom where they could talk about really important things, but as things stood now, that which she really wanted to talk over was the last thing she dared let on to her mother.
