chapter 16

Isabella pov

“Happy anniversary” Vic screamed in my ear. I put my phone a little farther than my ear

“Thank you, Vic. How is the baby?”

“Fine. He is kicking again today. He is very playful” She is six months pregnant, and we were everyone so excited when she told us. Her parents are so happy that they will have grandchildren and they say all the time that they want to have one too with Jerry. But for now, we don't think about that.

“I'm not surprised. If he takes your energy, God help us” I say and I laughed

“You are mean but anyway. What you will do today? Jerry doesn't tell me anything”

“Same here. He said he had a surprise but didn't tell me what”

“God he can be very shut down if he wants to”

“You know it,” I say and as I'm talking with Victoria I do some work

“Ok I will call tomorrow and I want every detail of his surprise”

“Every detail?”

“Well, not all. You can stop when he pushes you to bed”

“It doesn't have to be the bed,” I say teasing her. She never likes to talk about my s*x life with her brother, it's cool but so much fun to tease her

“Oh my God Bella. I don't want to hear how my brother... You know never mind I have to go”

“OK, why you are like this? You have s*x too”

“Yes, but picturing my brother is different. I have to go. Talk to you tomorrow”

“Ok. Give kisses to Jake”

“I will bye,” she says and she ends the call. I hear a knock on my door

“Come in”

“Bella, I have the file with the diagrams you ask”

“Oh thanks, Stella”

“No problem. You will have lunch with Mr. Gerald today?”

“Not today. He has a meeting outside the company. And we will leave early so order me something light”

“Ok. Bella?” I hear and I lift my head

“Yes, Stella everything ok?”

“Yeah, everything is fine. Just my brother is getting married”

“That's great congratulations”

“Thank you. Is in two months 26 December”

“Oh a Christmas wedding”

“Yeah so I want to ask if I can take more days for holidays so I can go and help with the wedding too”

“Of course Stella. How about..” is say and I look at the days in the calendar

“To leave on 10 December and return after New Year at 5 that we all return anyway”

“Wow, that's a lot of days. I was thinking about ten days or fifteen”

“You have a long time to take a day off and you never miss a day. I will talk with Jerry I'm sure there isn't a problem.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I can manage a few days don't worry. And thank you for you telling me so soon”

“Of course. Thanks, Bella” I smile at her and leave my office. I turn around and look outside. Is it my idea or everyone is getting married? Even Stella is engaged and she is two years younger than me.

“No Bella don't do that to yourself” You are still young you don't need marriage for your life to be completed. I am very happy with the man I love. I don't need marriage to feel full.

“I'm ok”

‘I will come from your office at four. Be ready. Your surprise begins the moment will leave the office. I love you’ Jerry texted and I smiled. All I want is to love me and I have that. He prepares a whole surprise for me I don't want anything else.

It's almost five and I'm ready in my office. I sent Stella home and I'm waiting for Jerry.

“Angel?” I hear him and I lift my head

“Hi,” I say and I stand up from my chair and go to him. I kiss him and he hugs me

“I miss you”

“I miss you too. I'm sorry I'm late but I finished everything. We leave today and we return Sunday night”

“What? Is Thursday. You never miss the days during the week”

“I know. Is our second anniversary. I want to spoil my girlfriend” he says and he kisses me

“Ok let's go then,” I say and I take my bag

“How about clothes? We will go from home?”

“No, I have everything on the plane”

“Plane? Where do we go?”

“Suprise angel”

“Aaagh” I moan and he chuckles

“Patient angel,” he says and we go to the car. We drive to the airport and then we take the plane for I don't know where.

“Angel wake up” I hear Jerry's voice waking me up

“I fell asleep”

“Yes angel come on,” he says and we are ready for landing. I read the words at the airport

“Hawai?” I ask Jerry surprised but excited

“It is for three days but I will make it worth it angel,” he says and I smile at him

“I'm so happy that you made time for me. It means a lot”

“I love you”

“I love you too,” I say back and he kisses my forehead

“Oh my God the view is magical”

“I chose the room. The manager said that the sunset is amazing from here.”

“Well, we will wait and see,” I say and he hugs me from behind. I love it when he does that I feel so protective.

“We will have dinner at the beach. I make a whole plan. I know is our anniversary today and we lose the half-day but from now on no distractions, no work, nothing. You and me angel”

“I like that. I texted my mom and Vic on the way to the airport that I would call them on Monday”

“Great”

“You want a quick now before dinner?”

“You are a naughty girl. I don't know why I call you angel” he says and he lifts me, my legs around his waist

“You like it” he walks I think to the bathroom

“I love it,” he says and he kisses me.

“Wow,” I say as I see the bathroom

“That's a luxury suite,” I say and he chuckles.

“I think we need a shower after the trip. And we will save time and water if we do it together” he says and I laugh. I hope to make it for dinner.

I'm in the hotel suite ready to go for dinner. Jerry is at the beach, he says he wants to prepare the decorations and the table and he will wait there. He told me to dress in a beautiful white dress that he took me for the occasion. Airy and a little bohemian. It's beautiful

I hear a knock on the door and when I open it I see and Hawaiian man who works at the hotel. Oh the Hawaiian is hot, if I hadn't had a boyfriend

“Miss Davis, Mr. Walker waits for you. He asks me to lead to him” he says and I smile

“Ok,” I say and I close the door. He shows the way and starts walking

“Call me Bella. What's your name?”

“Bane miss”

“Nice to meet you, Bane”

“Nive to meet you too Miss Bella,” he says and I look at him. I guess he needs to be professional. As we got close to the beach I saw candles and sticks with fire and at the end of the aisle, I saw Jerry waiting for me. He is in white too and I can see his smile from far away. Bane told me to follow the path and I continued alone. From somewhere I hear the music play and when I'm inches from Jerry he asks me to dance.

“Yes,” I say and he takes me into his arms

“All this for me”

“Everything for you,” he says and he kisses me

“You know I love you don't you?”

“Yes”

“That I will do anything for you?”

“I know that,” I say smiling

“Before you, I never thought to let any in my life, fall in love. But I did this and more with you. And I don't regret it” he smiles sweetly at me

“You make me rewrite and think again a lot of my life” I try to say something but he kisses me and cuts me off

“Let me finish. I'm not so good at words but I'm at actions. I hope to have shown you how much you mean to me. And how much I love you” he says and I nod

“Good. Maybe we don't need it but I want to go to the next level with you” Oh my God. He goes to his knee and he shows me a small box.

“Oh God,” I say and my hands touch my chest over my hard. She beats so fast

“I started thinking marriage and kids since the day I met you and that doesn't scare as I thought I would,” he says and giggles. I think I'm crying

“Will you marry me, my sweet Bella? My angel”

“Yes,” I say and he stands up

“For sure,” I say again and he put the ring on my finger. Then we start kissing until we have no breath

“You’re not scared?”

“No, because I know I will have you with me,” he says and he hugs me

“You are the one for me angel”

“I love you hulk”

After the proposal and dinner, we walked to the beach, and when we were tired enough we went to the hotel room. He lay me on the bed after he had taken off our clothes and we look each other eyes. I caress his back, I know how much he loves it

“I like it that still..... my touch affects you”

“Always. No one else just you. Your touch is healing. It takes all my troubles away” he says and touches my cheeks. I will never forget that night. We make love like no other time before, Jerry can be hard but sweet when he wants to be. But tonight he gave all the love that he has for me.

The day before we leave we had breakfast in the hotel room on the balcony. We are on the couch outside and I rest my head on his shoulder. I'm taking pictures with my phone when I see a phone call from my mom

“Is this the third time that she calls?” I say

“Then answer maybe she wants something important angel”

“Hey Mom”

“Hi, baby. Sorry for...” she says crying

“Mom, what's wrong?”

“I know you are with Jerry. I don't want to ruin anything. Your dad wouldn't want it” she is sobbing. I stand up

“Mom, why you are crying? Tell me”

“Your dad”

“What about dad?” Jerry standing next to me holding my hand

“We lost him,” she says and I hear ready to break down

“What? How? I talked to him yesterday”

“He was at work. He... He...”

“Mom? Mom?”

“I'm here baby”

“We are coming back, mom. Don't worry about anything. I'm coming back”

“Ok, baby. Be back safe”

“I love you, mom”

“Love you too baby,” she says and continues crying. I end the call and I sit down

“What happened to your dad angel?”

“He is... dead,” I say and I look at him. He passed his hand around me and he hugged me. I rest my head on his chest and I start sobbing in his hands. He stayed like this until I didn't have more tears. He called for our flight back and informed his family. They will go to my mother to stay with her until we return and not be alone. At the airport, on the plane, and on our drive to my mom I wasn't talking much and Jerry was always there holding my hand. It is the only I need now and he gives me that. When the car stopped in front of my parent's house I ran inside. I found my mom in her bed room, sitting on the bed looking at the picture of their wedding

“Mommy” she looks at me, her eyes tired and crying

“He is gone baby,” she says and I run to her. She hugs me and starts caressing my hair

“He was proud of you. He wanted to know that”

“How happened?”

“Gunshots at work. I didn't ask for details. Only that he saved a girl that someone wants to kidnap”

“Yep, that was Dad,” I say and I look at her. He takes my hands in hers and she sees the ring. She starts crying again

“I don't know if I should be happy or...”

“Happy. Your dad will be smiling now. Maybe he is not here to walk you to the aisle but he sees you. And doesn't want to see you sad” After we cried for a while she fell asleep and I went to the living room. My mom's friends left a while ago and now is only Jerry's family here

“You need something, Bella?”

“No Vic. You can go to my room to sleep. You need rest”

“I'm ok”

“You are not. I see that you are tired. Jake is in the room at the left” I told and he helped her to the room.

“We have a guest room if you need a nap,” I say to Jerry's parents

“We are ok honey. We will go to the hotel.”

“No, it's ok” Jerry's mom walks toward me and hugs me

“We love you, honey. Whatever you need we are here for you” she whispered and she smiled at me

“Thank you”

“See you tomorrow. Try to rest” his father says and they leave. I walk to Jerry and I hug him. His hands are around and I hear his heartbeat.

“I'm here angel”

“I know. This is what I need now. Just hold me”

“As long as you need,” he says and he does just that. He holds me tight.
