My three-week break away has turned into a three-day break and it is bittersweet. Coming home and being with Mason, is all I want. But returning home early comes with a price – Richard’s death. Scott returned to his pack, and the rest of us were on our way home.
“Are you ready to board?” Mason asks, putting his arms around me.
“Yes,” I lay my head against his shoulder. “I’m glad the doctor cleared me to fly.”
“The beauty of your wolf’s healing abilities,” he chuckles, kissing my forehead.
