Chapter VI

1036 Words
Flame "What the hell Diana!?" I scream while my hair is being yanked back whiles Diana is trying to make an updo hairstyle. "Beauty is pain girl." she was totally serious. "It's only a few more pins and we're done anyway." I frown at that sentence. "Yeah, it only took you three hours. And then two more for the make-up and of course a bit less than an hour of prepping before I could put on the dress." I hear her sigh and I roll my eyes. "There, done. No need to cry and wail," she says placing an arm around my neck hugging me. I place my hand over hers and look in the mirror. "s**t!" my eyes widen at the sight. "What?! Don't you like it?" she straightens up and I can see her worried look in the mirror. "No no, the exact opposite. I don't think I ever looked this good in my life!" I exclaim turning around and taking her by surprise with a tight hug. "Thank you..." I say and she giggles. "Nothing to thank for. I bet Landon won't be able to keep his hands to himself tonight." now it's my turn to sigh. 'If only she knew...' I say to myself as I grab the black clutch that sits on my bed. "You still have about fifteen minutes before you have to go down, I'm leaving now though. My date is awaiting me at home and well, I can't keep him waiting." she waves at me before she walks through my bedroom door. I step to the window, seeing the sun slowly go down, night beginning since it's already eight p.m. I look down at the driveway catching the last bit of Diana's dress swinging in the wind before she is fully sitting in the black limousine. Moments later her driver starts the car and they are off. "Flame? Are you ready?" Landon's low and booming voice snaps me out of my trance bringing me back to reality. "I'll be right down!" turning around I take one last glance in the mirror before I make my way downstairs to the front door where Landon already awaits.  As I'm walking down the long flight of stairs I see Landon already waiting for me at the door. He is looking at his phone with a serious and cold, angry expression on his face. It looks like he's texting someone important yet someone who makes his blood boil. Once I reach the last step I contemplate whether I should somehow get his attention or just walk up to him and out the door right into the limousine. Before I can make a decision though, I hear a deep voice making me raise my head and giving it my full attention. "Bloody hell, you look gorgeous." his British accent was intoxicating. Why did I only now acknowledge how effortlessly hot he can be. The word 'gorgeous' fell off his lips like honey and just like that, it became my favorite word to hear.  Wait!  Hold up!  What is happening to me!? This man basically bought me for his own interest and selfishness, I can't be drooling over him! But telling myself that he was the devil still didn't help stop my cheeks from heating up. I bit my lip and looked down as I hear him chuckle lowly. "C'mon, let's get going." I hear the door open and I started to walk to him but before I could step out he grabbed my hand. "What is it?" I asked expecting him to tell e to behave or some kind of s**t like that as if I'd put my own reputation on the line on such a big event but still, I'd expect something like that from him. "Nothing." he shook his head, a smile tugging at his lips. His hand landed on my lower back and I could feel sparks of electricity run up my back as he led me out of the house, opening the door of the limousine and helping me get in before getting in himself and closing the door. I watched as the gate doors stated opening up slowly. I could feel his eyes on me, piercing right through me. What the hell is wrong with him tonight!? Arriving at the gala, we were greeted with white flashing lights. Paparazzi, of course. My anxiety started to rise as I was thinking of the media and I started to breathe harshly, trying to somehow keep calm but failing miserably. I closed my eyes taking deep breaths when I felt a large warm hand indulge my own smaller one. "Hey hey, calm down. Everything will be okay, I'll be by your side the whole night." I gulped as I felt his warm breath on my neck. He slid closer to me making me shiver as I felt the heat radiating off his body, his scent taking over my senses. He's making me go crazy. He's making me fight against myself. Making me fight the side that want's to just kiss him and make me take me right here right now and the reasonable one that wants to push him away as far as possible. How was he able to get under my skin with a simple compliment? This isn't me. I'm not one of those girls who fall to their knees in front of a boy just because he smiled at her. Just because he gave her a compliment. Hell no, I'm not one of those girls. If he wants to play, then a game is what he shall get.  But for that two players are needed. And I can be just as good as he can be. I swear I'll drive him crazy.  I opened my eyes looking right at him. "Thanks," I said slowly before I bit my lip with a smile tugging at the corner. He furrowed his eyebrows, he looked as if he didn't quite know what was happening. But the expression on his face only lasted for a few seconds before he collected himself, nodding his head and opening the door just to be once again overflooded with white flashes, this time even brighter than before.
