Azazel POV  It was generally fulfilling to take the soul of another supernatural being. I took at least fifteen from there, and that doesn’t include all the other souls I took throughout the day. But she made me hungry. Her eyes were a glistening blue, and as they welled in tears at the sight of her dying Beta, they seemed to sparkle and shine. Her hair was long and blonde, and though it seemed to be in a mess, it still looked perfect. Her clothes did not do much for the imagination; I assume she just climbed out of bed when her pack, as they called it, got attacked. I knew her Beta should have died; he was on my list. It wasn’t an actual list, but I knew he should have died. I shouldn’t have allowed her tears to prolong what I needed to do. It will only lead to more problems. As he wakes, he will surely remember my face. No one has seen my face and lived to tell of it. But somehow, my hesitation and conversation with her allowed for time for help to come. Now the one she calls her Beta will live. I needed to leave the memory of her and what happened there behind me. I knew the perfect solution. I often visited places in the mortal world, but never as my true self. I could be what I wanted and who I wanted whenever I wanted. I generally always used the same look, though; it was much like my own, but with different color eyes and shorter hair. I entered the blaring club and headed straight for the bar. The lights were changing with the beat of the music. I didn’t understand how it didn’t give the humans a headache, but it was probably because of all the alcohol and possible drugs they consumed. I ordered four shots of the best whiskey they had and drank two right away. I then carried the other two as I made my way to the balcony upstairs. There was a red rope that cut off people from entering and a sign above that said VIP. I made my way to where the bouncer stood, and he nodded his head and let me enter. I never had issues getting into these places; in fact, my father often frequented this particular one as well. The atmosphere was a bit different in here. When you first walk in, sofas are lining the walls. The middle of the room has many tables set up where patrons can sit and drink or chat. There is a bar against the far back wall. The music was also different; it wasn’t as loud as the music was in the other part of the club either. I walked towards the steps near the bar and headed upstairs, where I knew my father would be. As I reached the top of the steps, I could hear the music coming out of the darkroom. It was rock, maybe from the eighties. Two strippers were dancing on poles in the middle of the room. I couldn’t believe how time has changed over the years. s*x has never been hard to find, even when it seemed taboo. There was always somewhere you could get it. Now, though, they added in the art of seduction. I was a fan of seduction, but I didn’t need to pay for it, that was for sure. I did, however, enjoy coming here from time to time, and tonight I needed to keep my mind off of the little blonde she-wolf. I made my way to a seat in the far left corner and sat down. I downed the two drinks I still had in my hand just as a petite redhead came over to take my order. My father always said they were his favorite. “How are you doing tonight?” I asked her. “I will be just glad when the night is over, it’s been pretty busy.” She said. “So, do you dance as well?” I asked her. “Nope, I don’t. This suits me just fine. Will you be having any more whiskey?” She asked me. “I will take three shots more, and how did you guess whiskey?” I asked her. “I handle alcohol all night for a living; I could smell it when I took away your shot glasses.” She smiled. She had a really pretty smile. I liked that she didn’t wear too much makeup as well. Perhaps I may have found a distraction for the night. The woman walked off to get my drinks, and I turned my head towards the door, feeling the sudden shift in power. My father was here. He sauntered through and looked around, most likely looking for me. I confirmed my suspicion when his green eyes found mine. His face held a smirk, and I knew he was going to get on my nerves tonight. “I’m surprised to see you here tonight. You don’t come here unless you are pretty desperate.” He said as he sat down next to me. “You dare call me desperate? I don’t need to come to a place like this to find a woman. I do well on my own.” I said, looking around for the server. I was desperate for those shots. It was harder for me to get drunk, but the particular whiskey I drink will make me feel some effects after a while. The server returned with my drinks and took my father’s order. He was, of course, looking her up and down. She walked off, but I noticed she put a little swag in her walk as her thighs swayed back and forth. “She’s a looker, huh? I have had her a few times, though you know my affection towards redheads.” He said. Well, I guess there went my plans for later. I could always just pick a number at random on my cell phone later. “So what brings you to my humble abode tonight?” My father asked. “As I said, I’m bored and in the area,” I said after I downed all three shots. “This wouldn’t have anything to do with the wolf you allowed to live, would it?” He asked. They know My father in this mortal world as many names, one being the Devil or Satan. He knew just about everything. Of course, he knew I let that Beta live. I didn’t, however, wish to explain why. “Do you question my authority, and who I allowed to live?” I said, my voice raised.. “No, but you aren’t one prone to do this. In thousands and thousands of years, you have rarely ever allowed anyone to evade their death at their chosen time, not even for a woman. Wait, was it for a woman?” He grinned. The server set down his drinks and a few more in front of me, then left. “I was busy, and they rescued him just in time.” I simply said. “Don’t give me that bullshit. You are never too busy. You have reapers at your beck and call and can project yourself in many places at once.” He scoffed at me. I sat silently, staring at the stage in front. I wasn’t exactly paying attention to it, but I was definitely trying to evade his question. Perhaps coming here was a bad idea. I wasn’t entirely sure why I did. A part of me feels confused by what the woman said about me being her mate. I couldn’t deny the shocks she sent throughout my body, the way it felt when she tried to pry me away. I wanted to take her right then and there. I wasn’t entirely sure why I didn’t. Even if I could tell she was innocent, it never stopped me before from getting what I wanted. I never needed to force any woman, though; I would never resort to that. I certainly didn’t think she was my usual type, either. She seemed more the white picket fence kind, and I had no sense of commitment. “So I’m gathering you didn’t plan to let him live, but something stopped you.” He said. “Have you ever had anyone be able to see you?” I asked him. “Well, you can allow those that die to see you for what you really are. So I’m not sure of your question, but no, not unless I wanted them to.” He said. “As I was awaiting his last breath, a woman saw me,” I sighed. “That is interesting; I guess it explains your distraction.” He said. He looked to be in deep thought. My phone buzzed, signaling I had a text message. It was from Amanda, a girl I had recently met. I told my father I had to go and left before he could say anymore. When I arrived back at one of my many homes, Amanda was already standing on my porch. She was wearing a long trench coat, and if I was to guess, she had nothing on underneath. I opened up the door to let her inside. Once the door shut, she unbuttoned her coat, revealing her naked body in the process. I picked her up and carried her to my guest room. I let no woman come into the room I slept in. She generally liked to take control, as I remember from last time, but tonight I would have full control. Laying her on the bed, I proceeded to forget all about the events from earlier.
