Azazel POV.
I didn’t understand how that woman even got here, Never has any mortal ever walked in this world.
In all its darkness, a single flower sprouted up where she had stood. It was a Lilly flower, how fitting it matched her name. It was pure white and reminded me that she too was pure. In the darkness, it almost glowed and I wonder if she had walked around would she have left these flowers everywhere? Such thoughts made me laugh.
I am reminded of the old legend, that people could trade a Lilly flower for life to me. It made me ponder a bit: why a Lilly flower? Surely there were better flowers to choose from.
“Master, is that a flower?” One of my many shadow men began floating towards the flower-sending me in a panic.
“Do not touch that flower,” I demanded.
“Perhaps you are right it would surely cause my demise,” He said making me chuckle.
I began to wonder if I could touch it. I have touched flowers before, but none have ever grown here. Did she bewitch it? Perhaps it was a trap set by the beautiful woman who thinks she is my mate. As if! I’m not a werewolf. And if she knew why her kind got created, she wouldn’t wish to be one either.
I moved closer to the flower, it somehow called to me begging me to touch it, but I was cautious. I still couldn’t figure out how it bloomed here and so suddenly. Sure, the entire realm’s not layered in darkness, but here where the shadows stayed even the leaves on the trees are black and dead.
I was almost to it, only mere inches away when I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up, making me jump back. My father was on his way and he was in a foul mood. The shadows once again retreated back into the darkest corners, fearful of my father’s wrath. But this was my world. If I called upon them, they would defend me in a heartbeat.
Howls erupted as the Hounds of Hell he brought with him grew closer. No doubt they had incinerated some of my darkest shadows as I could feel them leave this world onto the next plane. I could resurrect them, and I would once I dealt with my father. They guarded this area, and my father had no right to kill them.
Though the Hell Hounds were always at my service, I preferred my shadows and my Horse Sammael. It was a clever name and one the mortals attributed to me not knowing it was really my horse, though essentially a part of me.
My father may be powerful but I didn’t fear him and he knows better to come into my world unannounced and killing my Guardians. I would wait him out by myself, to show him I don’t fear him, and I would not tolerate this either.
He stopped in front of me with nine of his Hounds, and I looked him up and down, waiting on him to speak.
“I have lost a hound or two to your Shadows.” He said.
“Why would your Hounds attack my Guards?” I roared.
“I’m truly sorry about that, but do tell me what was a human doing here?” My father’s eyes fill with curiosity as he settled them on me.
“This is my World, granted to me by your Father, The Almighty in Heaven do not act as if you have any right to ask me who visits here,” I said.
“You dare bring him into this, you are my son, and rather or not your job is something that ties you to him as well its best you don’t forget that,” He said. “You dare bring a mortal here when you know It’s forbidden!”
“This is my World; I’m the King here and ruler over the souls you so badly wish to have. Who are you to tell me what I forbid? For the record, I have brought no mortal here,” I closed the space between us and moved in closer. We may get along sometimes, but when it came to him needlessly killing my Guardians and dictating what I do, it was another story.
I stepped back and released a ball of light from my hands killing three of his hounds “We are now even though yours are permanently dead, I’m afraid,” I said. His eyes turned a blood-red as he stared at me gaging my challenge, “This is my world and I will not have you killing my Guardians. You could have announced your presence as is normal and you would have passed,” I added.
“You are so cocky, but I must say like father, like son. I am however curious why there is a flower in all this darkness, a Lilly nonetheless,” He eyed the flower carefully and approached it, but I erected a shield to hold him back from it. When he got a foot away, he fell back on the ground as I laughed.
“You claim you didn’t bring the human here, and I find this flower, one you are protecting too much. Tell me, did someone offer it to you for their life?” He stood back up.
“No, actually, and if you must know, the human came here on her own. It surprised even me,” I said.
“That is impossible, Azazel, and you know it,” He said.
“Dear father, it obviously isn’t because I assure you she came here all on her own,” I am growing irritated with him but perhaps he had answers I needed.
“Hmm, a woman you say most interesting. Do you know this woman?” He said placing his hand on his chin.
“It’s the she-wolf, the woman who could see me,” I sighed.
“Ahh I see, you never told me it was a she-wolf. This just gets better and better. So she just randomly showed up here, you did not call to her?”
“I didn’t call her in fact I wish to forget all about her,” I regretted my decision to tell him anything. He may know a mortal penetrated my world, but he had no idea who until I told him.
“Perhaps you should tell me more about her.” He said.
“Perhaps you should tell me why you brought your hounds here to visit me?” I countered.
“Don’t change the subject; I brought them because I was unsure of what I was walking into. You must understand this has never happened before, and I had a right to be cautious.”
“Why be cautious of a mere mortal, are you not the Devil they know you by?” I asked.
“Do not call me that, you know that name got invented a few hundred years ago, when they gave me horns and painted me red. Such silly things those humans do,” Father scoffed.
“Whatever,” I said.
“So let me get this straight you had a woman see you who also somehow showed up here in your world, I think I may know a little something about this, but I would need to be sure.” He seemed to be in thought, and I was getting more agitated by the minute with his games. If he knew something he needed to tell me now.
“Father, I am growing tired of this, if you know something just spit it out, or perhaps I will make you,”
His laugh filled the night, and I could feel my body shake as I readied to shift into my dragon form, I didn’t like to get toyed with or laughed at, by anyone especially him.
“Well, it seems we will have to talk later, I am being summoned,” He seemed a bit excited about this summoning, and it only made my stomach feel queasy. Something wasn’t right. As my father disappeared from my sight I could feel my insides flip flop, and a sense of doom overcame me. I had to follow him and see where he’s going.
“Sammael, come now,” I summoned my black horse and jumped on him as he galloped towards me. “Invisibility,” I called out, and I knew me and my horse are invisible as we fly through the air.
“Where to, master?” Sammael said..
“Follow my father and keep us hidden,”
I loved the way the wind felt against me as we flew through the sky at rapid speed. Sammael slowed down, and it was then I noticed where we were. Right below me was where I met the beautiful Lilly, outside her packhouse. I trembled and knew deep down I’m undoubtedly somehow connected to this girl. The thought of my father being anywhere near her angered me, and if she’s hurt, I would beg for his soul from the Almighty. I have done it once if only for a short while for punishment given by my Grandfather and would do it again.
“You should be careful master, you know I’m connected to you and can sense your feelings. She must be some woman.” It may connect him to me as we are sometimes like one, but I could block him from my thoughts when needed. I failed this time as it has plagued my thoughts with why my father is here with Lilly and did she summon him? I didn’t understand my rage over him being here, but I knew I was close to the truth, and Lilly was too innocent to get involved with the likes of my Father.
I hear a scream that sounded like hers making my head swirl, and my body shake in rage. I jumped off my horse and did the only thing I could; I teleported myself to where she was.
