Demon Legacy: The Curse of the Amulet

Darkness and light, what are these things, we know that the universe natural balance is control by these forces, without the other there will be nothing. There can be no chaos without cosmos, destruction will cease without peace, the ying and yang will become irrelevant. As once said by Martin Luthor King JR “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that”. There is something about these things that are hard to explain but could forces define the meaning of good and evil? Darkness always have represented evil and wickedness while the light upholds for goodness and righteous but how are we sure that this supposed to mean the way it is? How can we be sure that a person who walk the path of darkness will turn evil and not good? How can one define a person based on their morality and nobility? The idea itself is unclear. The truth of the matter is that if a person is related to darkness or light depend on the choice of the person on which path, he/she chose to walk on.  Whether someone serve in the darkness does not mean that he can protect those who walk the in light while those who work in the light have evil attention to rule or harm other for their own pleasure.  Indeed, the choice of a person can decide one’s fate so now the question remain what will he chose? The Demon Realm  Unknown POV  "Kill him" "Make him Bleed" "Annilate him" "Make him regard for the crime he has done" These shout or growl or hiss or what are voice of the demons were be heard outside the Council Castle. Yes, the demon realm is rule by seven ruler each wielder of the element of this world, Water, Earth, Fire, Air, Lighting, Darkness and Light, each ruler have their own domain with their own kind to lead however there another leader who keep peace between each of these provience, the superme ruler of the demonic realm "The Demon King Aldrich". Aldrich is not your average demon, he is something else, something more. Being once god angel that fall from the heavens into hell, he has both demonic and angelic power that make him more powerful then any being itself. Once he had the feature of a god which is now twisted into vicious beast, his broze skin color turn into deadly white with black vein showing all over his face, his blond hair turn complete white with strand of grey hair, six golden eyes for two, each having a special ability for example when one of his eyes turn red, the person staring became immoblized. His sharp nose bent due to war with his black lips make any one believe that he does belong to the devil. His body that of a human change into a beast depending on his mood but if he does his body expand becaming more musuler with black viens showing all over his body, his hand change into claws with black tips that slice away his enemies within seconds, his below remain the same except instead of foot he have claws just like his hand. It hard to describe what type of creature he truly is as he have absorb his defeated enemies ablities into him, making him hybrid of everything. Usually he would wear an amour which is made of the bones of the rivals that he had slayed color in black but today he is wearing a simple gold tunic over red cape with black pants but bear feet. He was looking over his windows to see the revolt that happening outside the castle. Usually he would know what to do however every since his defeat aganist by a mere mortal along with the betrayal from one of his own knight made him at lost to do next. Suddenly he heard someone knocking at his chamber door. "Enter" he said without looking away. The door opened and closed indicting the presence of another. "My lord" The person said with respect. The King turn around toward the presence to see his most trusted loyal Knight kneeling on knee. “Ah, I see you Cyrus” The king acknowledges. When the Union was formed along with the new King, a special force was designed in order to do things that were equal of each ruler laws that were laid upon their land, but they must approve any major problem to their leader and uphold the laws given to them like reporting back to their monarch and balancing minor issue around the land. However, the special force that serve the demon king were known elite in the sense of combat and highly educated in matter of the kingdom. This force were supposed to be equal to King but not exactly, the reason behind their special training to see who will be chosen to rule over the demon realm only if the current king was defeated in battle or have become unfit. In all the history no way has defeated Aldrich in battle for many centuries until Cyrus came and beat him in dual. The dual was between friends nothing serious but somehow the rumor spread and worsen when Aldrich was beaten by the human King. “My Lord, the council are waiting for your arrival.” Said Cyrus while kneeling. The king looks at Cyrus for a moment. His knight who he has seen grown from boy to man to serve him as his knight will soon be nominated to become the next devil king. Cyrus is pyro dragon demon knight, born and raise in the land of fire, being a rough and ruthless regain it was surprised when he first appears to take part in the trials to join the force, his fighting style was unusual. Unlike the other who used brute force and limit knowledge of thinking, he showed grace and intelligent, defeated each of challenger with ease. He was victorious in the trial, ranking the top amongst all the contestant that took part. He was chosen as my shield, but he became my closet friend and advisor. Looking at him for what he did and accomplish make me sure he will become will fine king but I know for a fact that he will chose to do something else that might benefit all of us. Coming at full length, he is currently in his human form while not quite, he wears the mask of a human however his face completely black with white line tracing from the middle of his full red slit eyes, sharp nose, high cheek bone with dark pump lips, his brown hair turned white and sharp elf’s ear that can hear anything for a mile away. With attribute like these it hard to believe that he can pose as human, but we are deceiving creature that can fool any mortal with our disguise with mere transformation. Cyrus is currently wearing his black and red armor with his wing folded, staring at me with concern. “My lord, you know what happen next, right? The council will not spare him not only that they will demand that you retire as the king.” Cyrus said with distress. Looking back at the window, Aldrich “After my defeat against the human king and uneasy truce I know that I had to let go of the crown however what I didn’t except the lashing of my own Knight. The fact remains that if he had killed the demon in my domain, I could have handled him but we are talking about the death of many demons from each provinces, no leader will remain silence after what he did. Not only he nearly violated the truce but killing his own kind to take the power to make himself strong to break the seal that each of the leader made to close the portal to the human realm just to satisfy his vengeance is serious crime that only led to death sentence.” Turning around toward Cyrus he continues “The demon outside the castle demand justice and I know that they wouldn’t allow him an easy death.” Aldrich finish speaking but he saw the sadness in his knight eye, after all the criminal was his closer friend or maybe he treats him like his own brother. Both were brought up in the same condition, worked hard to come at the top and yet one had the sense of the situation while the other was blinded by his grief and humiliation. “Cyrus, I know this must be difficult on you especially when you made the decision to stop his plan. You tried to save him, but it went in vain.” Aldrich said. “My Lord, I believe it would be fair that I get the same judgment as Venom. I felt as though something was not right about him after our loss against humanity and the uneasy truce that we will have to abide on to survive. He remained too quiet and calm which should had strike me odd nut I thought that it was his way dealing with the loss of his family and lover. I assume that was the reason behind his sudden change in attitude but how wrong was I.” Cyrus said guilty “Cyrus why should we punish you for something that didn’t do? Even after discovering the truth you took upon yourself to stop him, you are a hero in the eyes of every demon in the realm, why would consider such notion?” Aldrich asked shocked. “That is because if I had known the truth and taken notice on his strange behavior, many lives could have been saved but fate wasn’t with me and we lost so much. The name of those fallen demon will forever remain in mind while their blood will always stain my hands.” Cyrus spoke looking at hand as he is looking at something else. Aldrich walked up to Cyrus, putting his hand on Cyrus shoulder, Cyrus look up to see kindness in his lord eyes which is strange for demon to act. “You are not to blame for anything Cyrus, Venom made his choice, and he will be punished for it. You on the other hand will be rewarded for action however I want to know what you will chose when the council ask you to take my place?” Aldrich asked curiously. Cyrus said with halfhearted smile “I will tell you my decision soon, but you wouldn’t leave any time soon, My lord.” Aldrich patted his shoulder and turn away to prepare for the Council meeting. The Council Room The room of the council was design in ring shape with round window celling where light flooded into the room while any person can see the red sky above. The room is constructed with black, grey concrete that is so sturdy that it impossible to penetrate or attack from the outside. The purpose of the room was to protect the council while they deal with various problem with demon king in the demon realm and like any other day, they are here to discuss a crime that determine fate of certain demon and select the new king. The room is complete empty except for the large metal oil lamp that are center in the room and in between toward the back is a throne where the King Aldrich sit while Cyrus stand beside him waiting for the council to appear. Several screens were set up outside the castle so that the people can view the final decision of the Council and their King against the traitor which is done by eyeball demons that where present in the room. Soon the oil lamp lit up with different color flame indicating each province leader have arrived, the flame twisted and turned, taking shape of the leader. The ruler of fire is phoenix demon Hendrix, his lamp flame burns red while the earth eagle demon Aras blaze yellow, next to him is water ruler in shape of mermaid Sereia, her flame glow blue following her is the air demon in the form of harpy Ionia with green flare, on the opposite of the light ruler is light sovereign in the appearance of human peacock Regalia, her form illuminate bright white light while the dark monarch the snake demon flame rage purplish Phoebes.    Aldrich stood up from his throne walking up to middle the of the pedestal circle to start the meeting while Cyrus remain outside observing in the shadows. The video has not started as they will begin once the final decision is made that will determine the fate of demon realm. Aldrich looked at each of his leader and spoke “My friends, welcome, thank you for joining, it please me that regardless of the situation we still stand united and I do wish that we will come the same conclusion. I foremost want to apologies that because of my irresponsibility that you all have suffer a great lost thus I have arranged this meeting not only to punish the traitor and decide that whether you still want to follow my rule or deem me unworthy. I will let you decide my fate.” Aldrich said confidently, however only one knew how he really felt, and he had plan to save his rule. “Aldrich, even though we are angry of what have occurred these past few years but that we are here, to find the solution that will satisfy everyone desire without you to retire from your throne.” Regalia said with soft voice. “Regalia you have been always been too soft for a demon much as a leader, we have lost so much and yet you want Aldrich to continue to rule our realm, I’m sorry to say Aldrich lost that right when he made a truce with worthless human king and let his Knight kill our demon, once we are done with that traitor, I suggest we do something about Aldrich as well.” Hendrix said furiously. “Now, Now, Hendrix don’t ruffler your feather, it is indeed humiliating and sad but that why we are here to discuss the problem at hand” Sereia said calmly. “Sereia is right it is time we show unity and don’t let our emotion take over our decision” Aras said in agreement. “It is easy for all you say this, but you forget that I have lost many of my people compare to yours’s because of that defector so excuse me if I have no control over my emotion, I need justice for them!” Hendrix shouted. “You are not only one that lost his own people, but we are not throwing a tantrum like a child.” Phobos hissed. “Enough, we are at each other throat and getting nowhere, we can discuss about Aldrich fate later right now we much figure out what should be done to the turncoat and truce that Aldrich made with the human king.” Ionia shriek. “Ionia is right, let go of our emotion for the time being and focus on the matter at hand,” turning toward Aldrich “Please recall all that happened during the war, the traitor plan and his defeat” Regalia said. With the flick of his finger a projection sphere appears in the middle, highlighting the event of the battle between demon and human. “As you can see during the war the human king known as Alexander came in possession of an unusual amulet that give him the ability to witness not only the future but somehow enhance his strength beyond a normal human that make a formidable foe to fight with it. With the amulet power he was able to train his army in way that they survive any demon with different attribute and defeat us with each demon weakness. The war lasted for month until finally came between me and him, we agree that that who ever defeat the other will decide the loser fate. As you know I was overpowered and thought this is the end of me but instead the Alexander spare me, making a truce with him” Aldrich said, summarizing his tale. “I’m curious to know that even after we did to their kind, yet this human king spared is and made a truce, why is that?” Ionia asked confused. “He wanted to show that humankind is better than us” Phoebes said angrily. “I’m not sure what the reason behind his behavior, even though I asked him the reason he give a vague reply “there should be balance and I have done so, there is no longer a purpose to fight, return to your realm otherwise you might need to answer to Gid himself”” Aldrich recalling Alexander word. “Was its God doing that helped his creation or did he sent his angel to help them?” Hendrix asked. “No, we would have sensed the angel power the battle however what might have been the reason is not important, all I want to know is where did this king acquire such a powerful artifact, surely he couldn’t get it by himself.” Aras asked curiously. “Aldrich would you mind showing me the amulet that Alexander was wearing. There is something I need to confirm first.” Regalia asked requesting. “Not at all Regalia” turning back to projection sphere he enhances and stopping the image to show the amulet to everyone. “Humm…. So, my suspicious was right.” Regalia said in acknowledgement. “Regalia will care to share your newfound discovery” Phobos asked frustrated. “Yes of course, you don’t know to be rude.” Regalia annoyed while Phobos huffed like child. “Anyway, at first I wasn’t sure but hearing Aldrich tale and the design of the amulet, I could confidently confirm that this is the amulet that once belong to powerful being known as the Lucius the dark Nephilim” Regalia stated. “The Dark Nephilim?!” everyone said in shock while just nodded to verify what she said true. “Impossible! Lucius is nothing but mere legend, there is no proof of existence in any realm” Hendrix said furiously. “Yet looking at this image the proof is there,” Regalia pointed at the image “that amulet is one of the gemstones that was part of Lucius power which was divided from one into seven gemstones.” Regalia stated her point. “All we know that Lucius was only one of his kind, being the offspring of demon father and angel mother making himself the most powerful being that could rival God himself.” Sereia said recalling the tale. “So, let assume that everything Regalia said is true and this so call legend exist how did a mere mortal get his hand on powerful gemstone or what other powerful this gemstone does it hold. We have to take action with caution.” Aras stated concerned. “Indeed, we need to look into this but regarding being caution we are already way pass that as one of Aldrich Knight have cause enough damage, I think it best we talk about the amulet and the whereabout of the other later and focus on the traitor first.” Ionia said Closing the projection sphere Aldrich continue his tale “After the truce was formed, we call back our army to the demon realm and with each leader help, we sealed the realm from human world. During that time, we trying to rebuild what we lost but then report started to come from every land that demon with high rank or powerful in magic or strength were being killed yet we could not point to who was doing this until Cyrus rushed to the gate sensing that something was amiss and found Venom nearly breaking every seal that we made to lock us from the human realm. Cyrus tried to persuade him to stop his plan but was unsuccessful, so he fought with Venom and claimed victory. Now Venom is strip of everything and locked away in one of the castle strongest dungeon cell.” Aldrich stated the aftermath of our demon defeat against humankind. “Can your Knight come forward?” Aras requested. Aldrich call out to Cyrus and he appears in front of the council, Cyrus bowed in respect “rise Cyrus, you don’t need to bow to us after all we should thank for stopping Venom and saving us.” Regalia said happily. “You are still leader of your own kind and I’m just a mere knight that serve the devil king how could I not show respect?” Cyrus said kindly. “Wise chose boy however we doubt your loyalty to us as I recall that Venom is your closest friend and consider you both grew in the condition, fought together in battle as one, it hard to believe that Venom will fall so easily which mean that it was intended to happen, have I miss something Cyrus?” Phoebes asked suspiciously. “Now you are going beyond a sudden conclusion Phoebes, we haven’t heard Cyrus side of the story yet already accusing him treason?” Ionia asked shocked. “Phoebes, I understand how you feel but I can grantee this much that Cyrus isn’t the type that will betray his kind, I knew his father and grandfather, both had respect in many Kingdom even though he was left on his own, he kept his valve strong and rise to any challenges that came his way. I can confidently say that Cyrus is different from Venom and we should let him tell us what really happened.” Hendrix said steadily. “Suit yourself, I still don’t trust him.” Phoebes said annoyed. “Apologize for the roughness Cyrus, please tell us how you figure out that Venom was responsible for this tragedy?” Sereia asked sympathetically. Looking up toward his leader, Cyrus recall what happened “As King Aldrich said that several demons started to be kill off in a particular way, some were with high magic skill while in combat, one of them being an old comrade from the water kingdom which made me wary that Venom might be responsible as he or me only were only strong to win against him. I trace back to the first killing and connected the dot, some of these victims were the chosen one that guarded the seal of the portal and then I knew what he was about to do because he needed one more person to kill to break the seal, that being me. I knew he was waiting from at the portal so with one last attempt I tried to reason with him, to give up this ridiculous plan but he was beyond gone with vengeance that he willing to kill his dearest friend so with no choice left I challenges him. The battle was long and hard with Venom have obtaining different ability from our fellow demon, but it was his angry, my knowledge of each guardian abilities and weakness was I able to counter him along with my exceptional fighting skill was Venom defeated.” Cyrus concluded with a light chuckle, making some leader smile. “Well done Cyrus, with your quick thinking and as you put it exceptional fighting, you just avoid a major disaster for the demon realm.” Regalia said applauding Cyrus bravery. “You have our thanks boy even though I have doubt but since I knew Sereia seal guardian I will let it slide this time.” Phoebe said irritated. “Phoebes give the boy a break already, we know you have trust issue however Cyrus risked his life saving us I think we know that he is royal to us and comrades.” Aras said confidently. “I think we have everything to decide what should be Venom punishment.” Ionia said boldly. “Yes, I think it time we give our people their justice.” Cyrus said even though he still fears for us friend fate. Aldrich returns to the circle and address his leader “then finally decision for traitor fate is the realm of shadows.” Aldrich stated firmly. The leader agreed in the sentence while Cyrus stood shock because the fate the have decided will be endless pain and misery for Venom, but he know he cannot do anything about it. “I think that best for everyone and it might give time to understand what he did wasn’t right at all.” Turning to Cyrus Aldrich continue “Tell the guard to bring him here so that everyone will witness his sentence.” With that Cyrus went out to tell the guard to bring Venom and finally settle this matter however what Cyrus will hear from his old friend will forever haunt him. 1 hour later “Well that quite a show he put on, but it is done, now only one thing is left to do” Hendrix said turning to Aldrich “Regarding as you the King I think we should…” “WAIT!!” Cyrus shouted returning to the circle. “I need to say something before you decide anything” Cyrus asked pleading. The leader looked at each other communicating in silence, while Aldrich look at Cyrus shocked of why he was was interpreting so suddenly. What felt like hour, the leader look back at Cyrus, Hendrix spoke “Very well Cyrus, we will listen, but it must be something at most important that you disturb this talk.” Releasing a breath Cyrus spoke “My leader, I know that you must heard the rumor that there was a dual between me and Aldrich with me being winner however it was an unofficial match, Aldrich is still better to rule this realm but if you all have questions put him a temporary rule where you can be granted to monitor his performance and determined whether is fit to lead us.” “What do you intent to do Cyrus?” Phobos asked curiously. “I will return to human realm and search for the other gems.” Cyrus said firmly. “Do you know the whereabouts of these gems?” Aras asked “I know few locations, but I need time to retrieve these gems which is why I can’t become the ruler right now. I asked Aldrich and all of you grant me permission to find these gems.” Cyrus requested. The ruler looks at each other for confirmation and with firm agreement Regalia spoke “Alright Cyrus, you have only five centuries to find these gems but if you don’t return by the time limit, you will lose your title as the next king and forever remain a Knight, do you agree with the term?” With firm nod, the council announced their final decision, King Aldrich will continue to rule under strict monitoring while Cyrus will do to the human world to retrieve Lucius gemstones. The meeting was adjourned, his friends, comrades and king give him a good farewell party, but Cyrus already knew this was the last time he will see them again as he plans to not return. Cyrus departed from the demon realm after a week silently saying goodbye to his home forever  In the human realm After passing through the portal, he came across a forest, the weather was dreary with wet patch as appear to rain before he arrived, he looks up to see cloud, he knew that he had to find shelter before it rains again. “Better get going.” Cyrus to himself however before he could move, he sense his presence, he turns around to find his guest have join him. “Have you settled everything in your realm?” the mysterious figure spoke. “It is done. They know I’m here to find the missing gems, but they don’t know my other plan” Cyrus reply. “I know, it will be difficult but trust me that everything will worth it.” The figure said “I still don’t trust you however to ensure that each realm remain safe I will do whatever I can to make possible.” Cyrus said firmly. “And if you fail?” the figure asked. “My legacy will carry on.” Cyrus said. The figure looks at him with smile. “Very well, shall we have processed?” Cyrus nodded and with that they begin their journey to the unknown.
