Chapter 12

Troy

Thank goodness the YouTube tutorial was helpful, and my laptop has a card reader port. I insert it and open the files. There are so many photos and videos on the card. I just hope that they give me a clue to where Elisa was all this while.

All the photos are of landscapes, trees, streams, rivers, and hills and most of the videos are of the same. When I am about to give up, I notice a folder named memories. I open it and find photos and videos of a little girl, the pictures look so old. In the videos, I can hear the voices of people in the background, but only the little girl is seen. They keep on calling her Joy, so it doesn’t have anything to do with Elisa, it’s just another dead end.

I will just have to go back tomorrow the same time I saw her there, I just hope she comes back to me soon. I am not going to give up on her as I did before. At least now I have hope, she is alive and that’s what matters. I should have listened to Torak, he was always sure that Elisa was alive, I got carried away and did something horrible. Something that I swore I would never do to her, but in my defense, I was so lonely, and I had thought that I would never see her again.

‘Stop justifying yourself, Troy.’ Torak scolds me, before I can answer him, I hear commotion all over the pack. I run outside, leaving everything as it is, I just hope that we are not under attack. I have been so keen on the security of the pack, and if I fail on this, I wouldn’t know what I am good for anymore.

“Son, there you are, we really have a big problem.” I met my father on the way to the main house.

“What is the commotion about, dad?” I ask, running beside him to wherever he is going.

“Bella escaped son.” His words make me stand rooted to the ground. He continues running, but when he realizes that I am not beside him, he stops and comes back. “What is it Troy, we need to hurry?”

“How and when did she escape?” I ask feeling so uneasy, now that Elisa is alive then her life will be at risk when Bella finds out. I know she would want to strike where it hurts the most and what better way than hurting my Elisa.

“Last night, I don’t know how she managed to escape because there isn’t any signs of a break-out, it’s like she walked right out.” He says, sending shivers down my spine. Bella is very dangerous, and I am part of why she is this way. “We have a traitor among us, Troy, so we need to be careful, son.” My father adds, tapping my back.

“Now that I think about it, you are right dad, that was the reason Elisa was kidnapped right under our noses.”

“You need to be careful who you associate with from now henceforth, son.” My dad warns. We proceed to the dungeons to inspect it one more time.

“Give an update, Naftal.” I ask my Gamma, he has always been so capable.

“It appears that she went through the forest, and that’s where we lost her scent.” He says obediently. “I have deployed all my men there, we are going to find her soon.” He answers with so much optimistic.

I am freaking out inside, she went the same way Elisa went, I have to find my Elisa because this is a second chance that I have been given to be with her. I am not going to throw that away.

“Alright, make sure my family is protected. I will take two guards and join the rest in the search.” I say.

“Father, go back to mom, she needs you right now. I will be back.” And with that, I head out.

‘Be careful son, you are all we got.’ My father's mind links me. He hates showing off his weakness in front of everyone.

‘I will be careful, father, don’t worry.’ I assure him.

‘I love you, my son.’

‘I love you too father.’

I take two omega warriors with me, I decide to leave Levy out, I can’t risk his life, Mary needs him now that there are rumors that she is expecting. They are going to be parents soon.

We spend the whole night searching, but we don’t get lucky. I dismiss my men in the morning so that they can go freshen up. I don’t think Bella is that stupid enough to remain here after escaping, she must be long gone by now.

I decide to wait for a while to see if Elisa will come because hoping is all I can do, I have no way of knowing where she disappeared to, s**t, I didn’t even remember to bring her camera with me.

What will I do when she shows up? Should I take her with me? But she doesn’t seem to remember me, and if I take her by force, then she will never trust me and I will end up losing her completely. I will just have to make sure I gain her trust first, I will become her friend if that works. That way, I will be able to protect her from harm. And in turn, she might even show me where she stays.

I will gather all the information and when the right time comes, I am going to make her captors pay. I will not do anything in a rush, considering we have a traitor in our pack. I will be diligent.

I sit on the ground patiently waiting as I lay my head on a tree bark for support. I am so tired from all the searching. I just doze off without knowing.
