Chapter Eleven She wanted to go home. Everyone downstairs by the door had stared at her with that look she never wanted to see, the kind of horror she didn’t think she’d ever get past. She needed a corner to hide away from everyone. Even though she was part of this family, she wished for anonymity instead of the judgement that would soon come down on her. She knew full well that everyone had to be thinking she’d finally gone too far. Maybe that was why she’d slipped away upstairs into the bathroom and locked the door, climbing into the bathtub with her clothes on, feeling the cold porcelain against her and only hearing the distant murmur of voices.
