And it had only required a modicum of arm-twisting.
Star complied (mostly) once her autopsy contract was in danger of suspension.
Bradley’s compliance was simply a matter of asserting certain negative consequences to befall Mallory should he resist.
Wembley’s absence had been a happy chance of fate.
And Alex’s compliance had been the simplest of all, though the least palatable. I’d revealed my objective: a demonstration of Mallory’s actions when placed in charge of her own investigation.
