Davina's POV

Today is my birthday and my engagement with Rian.I didn't feel any excitement at all.It was just another normal day for me.I went to my office in the morning and came back to the venue where my birthday plus engagement party was held.I was shocked seeing the arrangements dad and Alexandro has made just for a engagement party.Everything was so elegant and classy and all of it screamed how damn rich my dad and Mr.Donato was.I shook my head in disapproval seeing the unnecessary luxury for a small function.And that too an arrangement between Rian and me.

I just hope that dad and Damien never find out about the agreement Rian and I had made.If they find out then it is better for Rian to be dead than alive.Damien and dad have a real bad temper with everything that involves me.They can't tolerate even the thought of me getting hurt. And mom already knows that we don't love each other, but we are getting married for dad's sake.But the real villains whom I should be careful of is none other than my brother Dav and my sister in law Isabella.Even though Isa is his sister in law,I feel like Dav and Isa are the evil twins in the family.They seem to read others like a transparent glass and can see through every lie and they are the flag bearers of justice and truth.I felt bad when dad exiled them because of me.But when I think of it now,I feel it was for the good or else they would have found out that Rian was gay  and dramatically stopped this wedding in no time.Did I forget to mention that those two evil twins like a lot of drama and take a penchant in others misery from it.But nevertheless they both love me to no end.But I really missed them today and wanted them to be here at the moment.

Flashback

"Dad..this is not fair..it's Vina's life.You can't force her to marry someone for your own satisfaction",my brother Dav tried to reason with my dad.

"Yes dad..D is right...you can't force Vina to marry Rian.I agree he is a sweet guy...but it's her life..she should choose someone she loves..not comply with your emotional blackmail",Isabella supported my brother.

"Bella...How dare you talk back to dad?",Damien warned my sister in law.

"Damien...Isa is my daughter too...and she can very much opine her thoughts to me like everyone else",my dad stopped my brother from scolding Bella.

"Then what is your problem dad ...we are not against you dad...we just don't want Vina to get married against her wish.What she needs now is time to develop herself and focus on her carrier".,Dav burst out.

"I'm not asking her to marry him now.Marriage will be after 2 years.They will be engaged and don't worry I won't announce it until the marriage",dad replied sternly.

"Dad...this is absurd.How can she marry someone who she doesn't love?",Dav spat angrily.

"Isa,Dav...this is my final decision and those who can't accept my decision can leave this house?",Dad left from there angrily.

"What is your decision?",Dav asked me.

"Brother,Isa...please stop fighting with dad...I can't see him unhappy anymore.I have wholeheartedly agreed to dad's conditions.It is best for everyones happiness",I told them my decision.

"What about your happiness?And what you are doing is utter madness...And you are delusional if you think you can hide the truth forever.It will eventually be out destroying you and everyone",my brother warned me.

"It's better to speak to the wall than to her, D.Atleast it will reflect our voice",Isa added sarcastically."For now I will support you and your decision to get engaged after all there is 2 more years for this marriage sham...because I love you as my own sister,but think before you jump into this marriage thing for dad's happiness.We can convince dad.I assure you that",Isa added.

"No need to convince dad.My sister is going to marry Rian and that is final.And Bella pack your bags we are moving out from here along with the kids.I don't want anyone to come between my dad's and sister's happiness",Damien said rudely to both of them.

"Damien..Why are you punishing Isa for something she never did?",I pleaded with Damien.

"I'm not punishing her..It's the best for everyone for the time being",Damien replied.

"But brother..it's not Isa's fault...please don't do this",I tried to stop him from leaving the house.

"If Dav and Bella are here they will surely create trouble to ruin your marriage and also brainwash you.So I'm not taking any  risk",Damien had already made his decision.

"Isabella ..get ready...we are moving to our penthouse today.

"Everyone in this house have gone mad.And you ...you don't realize what you are doing?Don't try to act like a sacrificial lamb for anyone.You are going to regret it later.And ya have fun courting that moron Rian",Dav spat angrily before leaving the house .

    That was the day both my brothers left from our home along with my sister in law.I really was guilty for what had happened as I felt responsible.My decision to marry Darian ruined my brother and sister in law's relationsip with our family.But eventhough they moved away from our family home,they still maintained contact with me and our parents without resentment.

My phone rang putting an end to my train of thoughts.It was my devil brother Dav on video call.At the same time the door to my suite opened revealing a smirking Isabella.

"Isa...",I hugged her affectionately.

"Pick up the call..."she said coming straight to the point and that was so like her.

I attended the call to see a smirking Dav.What is cooking in both of these devils mind?I couldn't help but think like that as they were the epitome of evil...well not in a bad way..but yes they were evil and they work together to torture others.And trust me..when I say that they are both evil..you can't hide anything from them ..I mean anything..they will dig it out of you in a second.

"Hello brother,so when are you coming back?Have forgotten me?",I asked a bit angrily.

"Hello to you too Vina...And how can I forget a piece of my heart",he replied playfully.

"Please use those cheesy lines on your girlfriends..it isn't working on me",I chuckled.

"Little bear...I don't have girlfriends..you know that right..I am still searching for my other half.."he said dramatically.

"What do you mean by you don't have girlfriends.You think I am buying that.Are you gay or something?",I asked playfully but regreted the next moment hearing his counter attack.

"Sweetie..I'm not gay ..but someone else sure is...Am I right or am I right Isa?",he and Isa laughed evilly.

"You are absolutely right,D..."Isa said with a knowing smirk.

"What do you mean?",my body went cold thinking of  the unthinkable.

"I mean what I mean little sister.Enjoy your  birthday party for the time being and I will meet you on your big day and Isa ...take care and happy birthday my dear sister",he said before hanging up the call.

"What are you two upto?",I questioned Isa.

"Nothing...we are just happy for you...",she replied in a bored tone.

"Like really..."

"Yes my dear sister...totally".

"You both were against this marriage...now what happened?",I was by now convinced that these two were plotting something.

"Yes we were...but now we thought why not give Darian a chance.We came to know what a sweet guy he is",she raised her eyebrows with an evil grin playing on her lips.

I was sure they have some doubts on Darian and I need to keep my guards up.

"Isa ...where are the kids?",I asked changing the topic.

"They are with their nanny...And I don't want them to be disturbed in the party".

"Have they forgotten me?".

"No dear...they haven't".

"I wish they..."

"You can wish everything after your wedding. Now Come on my lovely Vina...let's deck you up ...my birthday baby..."she said hugging me and started dressing me up like I was some doll.And one more thing about Isa is that she is bossy and listens to only her mind.After all she was trained by my sassy mother.

As soon as I got ready or rather say Isa decked me up,my mom ,dad and Damien came to take me for the party.

"Oh ..look at her...I can't believe she is all grown up and ready to get married",my dad said with tears on his eyes.

"Yes ..she is grown up now..but when will you grow up,Mr.Knight",my mom snapped at my poor dad who glared at her in return.

"Vina..my little sister..I'm so happy for you...I -I don't even want to think that you will go away from our family in just two weeks...I will call you daily Vina..I will miss you my fairy.."he said kissing my forehead.

"Stop being dramatic Damien..She is not going away to mars...she is getting married into the De Luca family.And  they are your business partners and Darian and you meet each other almost every day.And Darian's penthouse is just a block away from ours",she said rolling her eyes.

"But still.."

"Now  stop it all of you .It's time for celebration.But I wish my sweetie pie was here too",my mom said cutting him off

"Don't worry Mom..Your sweetie pie will be here for her wedding",Isa said kissing my mother's cheek.To be honest,I was a little jealous at first seeing my mom's and Isa's bonding.She is truly a mother to Isa and treats her no differently from her own kids.That means she also gets the same amount of love as well as scolding from her.

They took me down to the place were the event was organized.The De Luca family was present there already.Mr.Alexandro De Luca was a respected billionaire businessman and best friend of my dad.And Mrs.Camille De Luca was a respectable and sweet lady who never flaunted her rich status to anyone.Rather she was a woman who have done a lot of charity work and has even adopted many orphanages.At the first meeting itself,she was kind and friendly towards me.But Darian's grandparents were really strict and still had their hold on the decisions taken in the family.And Darian respected them and was more scared of them.But they were really nice to me.Sometimes it makes me wonder whether all these people were really sweet or they were just pretending to be sweet because I was the heiress of the Knight family.Me and my trust issues ...never leaving me alone,I sighed thinking of the doubts I had.

The party was full of famous business men and woman and was devoid of media much to my relief.All these years I have kept myself away from the media as I loved my privacy.And my dad was so proud to flaunt me in front of the guests.After the introductions,I excused myself and stood away in a corner where it was less crowded.Well I sort of am a anti social in my mom's  opinion who hates socializing.

"Hello Sugar,ready to get engaged to the hottest person on earth",Darian voice startled me and he took my hands and kissing it.

"I have seen better..."I replied with sarcasm dripping in my voice.But he was right,he was one handsome guy that girls would die for ,but not me.He was looking hot and sexy in the navy blue tuxedo he was wearing.And all the girls in the party were drooling over him and sending mean glares at me but I pitied them as they didn't know the truth.

"Really...Well I don't think so...But why am I even asking someone whose dating history is zero",he said sarcastically.

"Seriously...how rude are you...but I don't really know what Mike saw in you that he fell for a moron like you",I spat at him.

"I'm sweet to him",he said dreamily.

"Really...I mean he is the sweetest person I have seen ever and he deserve someone better",I reciprocated and instantly regretted as I saw pain in Rian's eyes.

"You are right...I can't even tell the world that I love him...He deserves someone better..not a coward like me",he said lowering his head in shame.

"Stop it Drama queen and come with me",I said dragging him towards the place where Mike was standing all alone and looking lost.

"Hi Vina..."Mike greeted me with a disoriented tone.

"Come with me" ,I said dragging both of them away from the party hall.

"Where are you taking us?",both of them questioned me at the same time.

"Just shut up and follow me",I said taking them towards the elevator hiding from everyone.

We got into the elevator and I pressed the terrace restaurant button.

"Vina..What are you doing?",asked Rian in an annoyed tone.

"Patience baby Rian..patience.."

"I'm not a baby..",he pouted.

"Yes you are...isn't he Mikey".

"Yes he is ",Mike chuckled.

"Shut up you both...we are going to be in trouble if someone found out that we ditched the party",Rian scolded us.

"Everyone is busy chatting and there is still time for the announcement",I said waving off his argument.

"And here we are",I said as the elevator stopped at the terrace garden.I had booked the terrace restaurant privately just to surprise both the love birds.

It was beautifully decorated with red and white roses and there was a table on the centre witha heart shaped cake and a card that said wishes for your engagment.

"Sugar...what is this?..our engagement was supposed to happen at the party..then what is all this?",Rian queried with a confused expression.

"Vina..Rian is right...What is happening here?",Mike asked me looking worried.

They both looked confused at the arrangement.

"Well ..this is the real engagement party that I am throwing for two of my best friends who are madly in love with each other",I said dragging them both again towards the cake.

"What?"...they asked together pleasantly surprised.

"Come on now..exchange the rings",I said showing them the open ring boxes I had hidden in my clutch.

"Vina...I love you",Mike hugged me affectionately.

"Really...then let's elope and go away to a place where this moron won't find us",I said purposely to irritate Rian.

"Keep dreaming...he loves me.Vina...I don't have words to express my happiness..I just wish I could have been more brave and tell my family about us",Rian said tearing up.

"Thank me later...now exchange the rings fast because we have to go back to the party and put up a show",I urged them.

"Mike...baby...I love you and promise you to get us all out of this mess faster",Rian said making Mike wear the ring .

"And I  promise you to be with you in every decision you take and to trust you forever",Mike said making Rian wear the ring and they kissed each other like no tomorrow.

"Excuse me love birds...I'm still here and maybe later you could both get a room",I cleared my throat and teased them.

"Thank you Vina...this was indeed surprising and heart warming" ,Mike thanked me wholeheartedly.

"Thank you Sugar"...they both thanked me together.

"You can thank me by paying me back the money I spend on your rings",I said smirking at them.

"What?"...Rian exclaimed while Mike hid a smile."The heiress of Knight family is such a miser",he exclaimed."But I'm not paying you back" .

"And the heir of De Luca family can't even payback a loan",I retorted with an evil grin.

"Sugar...come on let's bicker later...we have to get back to your birthday party before Nick arranges a search party for you",Rian and Mike both hauled me towards the lift.

When we reached the party avenue,Isabella was standing at the entrance smirking at the three of us.

"Took a lot of time...What were you three doing?",she questioned us.

"Nothing...Rian and Mike just showed me the terrace garden",I answered looking anywhere but her.

"Seems like you had to book an entire restaurant just to visit it",she smirked again.

"Anyways come on Vina..it's time for celebration",she said holding my hands and taking me towards the centre of the party hall where both Rian's family and my family were present.

My dad hugged me and made me and Rian stand on both of his side and made our engagement announcement.

"Today is the second happiest day in my life..the first was the day when my little fairy was born",my dad said happily."And today I'm happy because my fairy is going to be engaged to a person that I trust the most".

Rian flinched at my dad's announcement and looked at me with despair.While I gestured  him everything would be fine with my eyes.I was feeling guilty as well for keeping my dad in the dark about the truth of our relationship.

"So today I'm announcing my only daughter Davina's engagement with the CEO of de Luca Corporations,Mr.Darian De Luca",my dad announced our engagement to the guests.

"And I hope that all of you will bless the couples and wish them a happy married life",my dad was all tears by the time he had announced our fake engagement.

"Vina...where are the engagement rings?",My mom asked me catching me off guard.

"Mom,Dad..Me and Rian have decided that we will not waste money on engagement rings..we will directly buy the wedding bands",I said smugly.

"Waste money...How is buying a ring for your own engagement a waste of money?",my dad asked me with a look of disbelief,while Damien glared at Rian.

"Dad,Mom,Damien,Isa...This is our decision and please respect it for our sake.Anyways the wedding is in two weeks,so it doesn't make any difference if we wear a ring or not",I said holding Rian's hand giving him a nudge.

"Yes ...Please respect our decison",he said literally begging both of our family.

"Ok ...if that's your decision, we don't have a problem with it but I'm buying your wedding bands because I'm not trusting you two misers with it",my dad said teasingly and all of the guests started laughing at his joke.

"God bless you Vina and may he give you all the happines you deserve.You are a good friend",Mike said giving me a warm hug while Rian looked at us lovingly.
