Davina's POV

"Sugar,Did you miss me?",Darian asked me with a wicked grin.

"Keep dreaming",I replied with a mean glare.

"Ouch that hurts Vina",he said dramatically rubbing his chest.

"So love birds ...Do I have the permission to take my future wife out for a coffee" ,he asked winking mischievously at my dad and mom .

"Son can't you wait for 2 weeks...then she is all yours",my dad was obviously protective of me.

"Seriously Nick...it's just a coffee with Vina he is asking for.I really can't understand why you are getting her married when you can't even allow her to go outside and enjoy herself with her fiance.Atleast now let them get to know each other more.For the past two years they never went out ,all thanks to your paranoid behaviour",my mom scowled at my dad.

It was true though...My dad never let us go out together and all the occasions we met were strictly monitored by my dad's bodyguards.And my mom was pissed off at dad's overprotective nature although she never wanted me to get married to Rian.

"Trust me Nick...I will keep her safe and MIL is right... only two weeks are left and we haven't spent quality time with each other as we both were busy",he said blowing a kiss to my mom.

"Alright Rian...but take the bodyguards with you.And if you fail to protect her then I will chop your head off",my dad threatened Rian.

"Dad...I'm not going to a war...it's just a coffee...",I rolled my eyes.

"Vina...it's the same for your overprotective dad.When are you going to get treated for your paranoia Nick",my mom scolded dad.

"You know things happen and I won't take risk when it comes to my children.Alright my little bear,take care and keep me updated.And Rian I'm trusting you with my life.Go and enjoy..but come back before nightfall.And remember one more thing Rian..I have a gun and it's always loaded",my dad smirked at Rian.

"Woah ...woah...I promise to remember that",Rian raised his hands in surrender.

"Bye mom ,bye Dad..." I bid goodbye to my parents and went on our way to the so called date.

"So are we really doing this ,Sugar?",Ryan raised his eyebrow sceptically.

"You mean the coffee",I asked feigning ignorance.

"No I mean the wedding",he replied with annoyance.

"Are you trying to ditch me at this thirteenth hour?I'm hurt..",I asked faking tears.

"Come on drama queen...Cut the crap. You know our agreement".

"Yes Captain....how can I forget".

Flashback

"Vina ...All I want is your happiness my baby...And if you are happy then that will make your dad happy.I want to see you happily settled with someone who will protect you",my dad said with tears glistening his eyes.

"But dad...I can't love anyone dad..You know that right..."

"Vina ...Please ...just do it for dad ,atleast meet him for once.Or I will go back on my word and destroy everything" ,my dad emotionally blackmailed me.

"Will it really make you happy if I marry into the De Luca family?",I didn't want my dad to be unhappy just because of my stubbornness.

"Yes..it's Dominique Vincent Knight's promise to you".

"Ok then ,dad,I will try my best.."I agreed not knowing what else to say to my dad who was trying his best to bring happiness into my life.

"Darian is here to meet you and I hope you will give him a chance",he said happily like a child who just got his favourite toy.

"Hello Nick...I am not late right?",an arrogant  guy with blue eyes and an athletic build walked into our living room like he owned the place. 

"Hello Darian...No you are not....And meet my daughter Davina",he said greeting Darian.

"And Vina ...this is Darian De Luca...CEO of De Luca corporation and also my best friend Alexandro De Luca's son",dad introduced him to me.

"Hello Sugar...How are you doing?",he bend forward and kissed my cheeks startling me.

"I-I..I'm good,Mr.De Luca",I stuttered due to his behaviour.

"Call me Rian ,Sugar.Those who love me calls me Rian",he openly flirted with me in front of my dad.

"I will take it from here Nick",he told my dad.

"Ok ...Vina..just make him comfortable...and try and get to know each other",my dad left me alone with that flirtatious jerk.

"So Vina...tell me about yourself..."he started my interview like the CEO that he was.

"There's nothing to tell about myself..And listen Mr.De Luca..I'm not interested in you and basically I'm putting up with you just for my dad",I replied giving him my best mean behaviour.

"It's Rian sweetheart and I never thought you were into girls",he chuckled totally unaffected by my outburst.

"What...When did I say that?",I glared at him.

"Well ..you see all women drool over me and you are the only woman who ignored me".

"And why do they drool over you?Are you some food?",I was irritated by his self obsessed talk.

"Because I'm hot,sexy and droolworthy..."

"Sorry to burst your bubble..neither are you hot nor are you droolworthy,.And all those women might have been blind.Let me make one thing clear.... I'm least interested in this wedding thing",I gave him a piece of my mind.

"Sugar..don't fly up high..Darian De Luca is also least interested in you.I also agreed to this stupid arrangement only for my parents.I love someone else",he replied arrogantly.

"Wonderful...then why don't you tell your parents about her.You know at the end of the day they are your parents and they will understand you",I felt happy thinking that I wouldn't have to marry him now.

"Sugar..it's not that easy as you think.Do you think if I convince them they will agree?",he said in a dejected tone.

"Don't worry Rian..I will help you ..I will talk to your parents and convince them to get her married to you",I was not heartless and I really wanted to help him.

"Vina...it's a he ..I love Mike Donato",he said shocking me but I composed myself as it's not a sin to be gay.

"M-i-k-e D-o-n-a-t-o...as in the famous designer?Then what's the problem..you both are mature and successful..it's easy to convince your family",I was surprised by his revelation that the famous designer was the love of his life.

"Vina...I am amazed...You didn't judge me like others for being gay.I rather thought that the princess of Knight family will be a spoilt b***h".

"Come on Rian...we are living in a modern world.Someone's s****l orientation doesn't matter to me at all.We are all human beings and we need to coexist with harmony.Being gay doesn't make a person inhuman or any different from a straight person.Gay or straight ...love is love".

"Sugar...you are so young yet you are so composed and sort out at this young age.The person who gets your love will be one lucky bastard".

"Rian...I don't do the love crap...And I hate that word...But I don't have any problem with your love life.And I promise I will help you out",I told him my opinion

"Convincing my parents is not easy,Sugar...they will never allow their family reputation to be damaged by letting everyone know that their only son is gay.And also gay marriage is illegal here in Italy".

"You both can move to another country where it is legal,right".

"We initially thought of  going to USA.But both of us have our business here and also we both love our family,so it's not easy as it seems.Also we both want our families blessings for our union.You know,when I came to see you ,I thought you will be one spoilt brat and had planned to blackmail you into marrying me,so that I can be with the love of my life.But you destroyed all that expectations..You are an angel Vina and now I can't do that to you anymore",he said hugging me catching me offguard.

"Well I'm not an angel..and what do you plan to do now..."

"I don't know..I'm going mad...I can't marry you and destroy your life...and I can't let him go..I love him so much.that's it I'm going to tell my parents that I didn't like you".

"And then what?",I asked him suddenly thinking of a plan that will benefit us both.

"Then maybe I will get some time till they force me to marry someone else".

"Alright Rian baby...let's strike a deal".

"What deal?,he was confused.

'You love Mike and don't want to marry me,I hate love and don't want to be married.so let's get married...you can be with Mike and I can be free from dad's constant nagging to get married. What say?..,"I said seriously.

"Vina ..are you out of your mind...I can't do that to you...it's wrong...your life will be destroyed",he rejected my idea.

"Listen to me,Rian.It's better for us to marry  knowing our truth..it's a win win situation..but I have a condition",I tried to convince him.

"What condition?"

I told him my condition and he was shocked.

"What are you saying?"

"Shhhh...even the walls have ears..so don't say anything".

"So do we have a deal?"

"I think yes...but I need to discuss it with Mike".

"So when are we meeting Mike?",I winked at him playfully.

"Soon.."he replied half heartedly.

flashback ends

"So now are you going to back out..,I teased him as we have become good friends in these 2 years.

No sugar..it's just that I don't know anymore whether I'm doing the right thing or not.It involves three of our lives and I don't want to hurt you or Mike,he replied with a sad tone.

"Or are you just scared that Mike may fall in love with me because I'm so hot and irresistible..",I teased him again.

"Keep dreaming ,Sweetheart ...Mike is loyal to me and he won't cheat on me and that too with a girl",he responded abruptly.

"Ya whatever..."

It's true we both along with Mike had made a deal which will benefit all the three of us.I usually don't trust anyone outside my family,but Rian was different.He appeared to be an arrogant and rude guy outwardly but in reality he was kind and caring.I'm saying this because it was easier to convince Mike for this arrangement,but Rian took more time to agree to this facade we were going to put on.And for the past two years,he was really trying hard to tell his parents that he was gay,but everytime he tried he was too scared how they will react after knowing about his s****l orientation.

"Advanced birthday wishes Sugar",he said as he parked his car outside the cafe.

"Thanks Rian..And dad is going to announce our engagement tomorrow."

"Yeah..I know and I have invited Mike for the party...",he informed me.

"How cruel are you?Won't it be heart breaking for him to watch someone he love getting engaged to another?",I smacked his head.

"Experience speaks,huh?",he taunted me.

"Talk to my hand and do whatever you like..."I pouted.

"Ok Sugar...let's gear up for the facade of the year",he said kissing my forehead while I glared at him.
