Post partum depression

"I remember"....Davina said thinking of the time she suffered from depression and got the news that a part of him was growing inside her.

Flashback

2 months after Siya reunited with her family.

"What the hell doctor?How could you miss such an important diagnosis?",Mr.Knight yelled at the doctors who were bowing before him at his study afraid of the consequences they have to face .

"W-We didn't think that she could be p-pregnant?",they shivered in fear.

"Fools...I have employed fools for my daughter.How long is she?",he barked at the doctors.

"10 weeks...she is 10 weeks pregnant and she is very weak",they stuttererd.

"First that monster tortured my daughter...now his seed is growing inside her...Do something..remove that vicious thing from her womb without hurting her",the father in him had lost his rational thinking.He could not accept the child that his daughter was carrying which will only remind her of her tormentor in the future.He was not a cruel man ,but he was a man who suffered the loss of his precious baby,his daughter.Now that he has got her back ,he didn't want to lose her or cause her any pain .As a father he thought himself as a failure and he badly wanted to prevent her from getting hurt physically or mentally.

"Nick...how could you?that's a life growing inside our daughter not some malicious thing...I don't understand you anymore,Nick.You have grown heartless",Delilah said with disappointment.

"Call me anything Lilah...but as her dad I have failed my precious baby.So now it's time for me to save her from that monstrous thing growing inside her..I will not let her suffer ...I will not let my baby suffer"...he was crying and fidgeting his head at the same time and he looked like a desparate and broken man.

"Nick..."Delilah slapped him bringing him back to his senses.You will do no such thing if you truly care for her.It's her call to decide whether she wants to keep this baby or not"...

"No...No..No...I will not let that monster's child ruin her again...look at her Lilah...she is just 18 and how can she be a mother at this young age...my child has suffered a lot in this is young age..I want to give her every happiness that is rightfully hers. She deserves to be happy.I want her to achive her goals...there is so much things that I wish that she should do for herself like normal teens",he said whimpering on his wife's shoulders.

"Nick...we are all here for her, but as a family who will support her in every decision she takes ,not as a family who suffocate her by imposing our decisions on her.But in the end it's her life,and I'm always there to support my child.If she decides to keep her baby,then I as her mother will support her as long as she is with us.She can continue her studies and do anything she pleases even after child birth because we will always be there for her.And the child she is bearing is as much part of her as her husband's",she tried to put some sense in her husband.

"But Lilah"

"No buts...we will leave the decision on her Nick",she said with determination.

"M-Mom...Am I pregnant?",Siya who was standing near the door of her father's study had heard their conversation from the start.She was numb hearing that she was pregnant.She caressed her stomach thinking of the life growing inside her.

"Vina..."Nick's voice startled her.She was scared of her dad at that time.

"M-Mr.Knight...stay away from me...you have no right to kill my child.How could you think of killing my innocent child?It's mine ...it's mine...no one can take it away from me",she fainted crying out hysterically.

"Mom...Dad...What happened to Vina,Why did she faint?"Ian who came in search of her asked picking his sister up and carrying her to her room.Dominique's heart broke seeing his daughter's vulnerable state.

"Your dad was being impulsive and Vina happened to hear our conversation regarding her pregnancy",his mom replied.

"She is pregnant"...Ian remarked looking at his weak and fragile sister.

"Yes and your dad wanted to abort the baby",Delilah responded to Ian's question,

"What?..Dad are you insane?..How could you even think like that?"He couldn't believe that his dad would behave like that.

"I'm sorry Dav ...Your mom is right...I'm a cruel heartless man...it's my fault my daughter is suffering.I hurt your mom and now look Gods are punishing me by hurting my daughter",Dominique whispered shedding tears for his daughter.

"No dad ...you are the best thing that ever happened to mom and us and it was not your fault that Vina was kidnapped.It's just our wretched fate.Don't blame yourself for something which was beyond our control.Now we have got back our Davina.It's time to shower all the love she has lost in the past 15 years.And for her baby ...we will leave the decision to her",Ian consoled his dad hugging and comforting him.

After that incident,Davina was more or less lost.The only thing that kept her alive was the thought of the life she was carrying.She became hysterical and suffered from depression.She developed trust issues and didn't let anyone come near her except for Ian.Ian was the only one she trusted.She looked at her family members other than Ian as the ones who wanted to harm her child.So Ian decided to take a break from his career for the sake of his sister.

And after that day, her dad never forced her to give up her baby,instead he tried everything to earn her trust.He would attend all his business meetings and deals from home for the fear of losing his daughter.He did everything to make his daughter trust him again and eventually she let him in but still was skeptical.Her pregnancy was far from being easy and on top of it she was carrying twins.She suffered from severe depression and the thought of being betrayed took a toll on her health.Ian and her dad took care of her day and night and during her pregnancy her mom suggested to continue her education as it would be a relief for her.Davina did take up her online classes which was a huge distraction for her from her sorrows.She found bliss in having a family who were supportive of her in every way possible.But there was this constant fear haunting her that David and his family might harm her child if they came to know of it.Doctors suggested trauma therapy for her to get through her depression as she had quit taking anti depressants as it was harmful to the babies.

The therapy did help her out to an extent but all of it changed when she gave birth to her twins Asher and Alyssa.When she held her twins in her arms for the first time she was gripped by an horrifying thought.She feared that her babies would be harmed by someone.She was a young mother who was confused and horrified at the same time.She handled her babies like porcelain dolls and would get emotional even when they sneeze.As a result, she started showing symptoms of post partum depression.In her constant panic to protect her children she had almost killed them.If it wasn't for her dad ,her lovely monsters would not have survived that particular day.

"Vina...where is my sweet nephew and niece?",asked Ian coming into her room and saw that she had curled into a ball in the corner of the bed with no sign of the little munchkins.

"Shhh...Ian...Come hide here...they are going to attack my babies..I have hidden them well.Now no one will harm them",she said pulling him down towards her.

"What the hell,,Vina ?Where are they ?tell me right now ",Ian asked her curtly.

"No...I won't ...you will let them kill my babies...You too are with them...You will never find them",she said stubbornly like a child.

Ian was baffled by her strange behaviour and was worried for the twins.

"Cupcake...you trust me right ...I won't harm them...just tell me where they are..it's time to feed them",he tried to cajole her.

Don't worry brother...I have given them cetrizine(a medicine used for cold which causes drowsiness)so they will not be hungry now as they are sleeping",she said looking confident.

"Vina ...are you crazy ?They are not sick...how can you feed them that medicine.just tell me damn it ...where the hell are they..",Ian raised his voice on his sister for the first time.hearing the outburst all the family members came to the room.

"They were crying.so I gave them medicine to stop their crying", she said innocently.

"What the hell Ian?How dare you shout on Vina?",his dad got angry on him.

"Dad...it's the babies ..she hid them somewhere and also fed them drowsy medicine.And now she is not telling me where thay are",Ian replied looking worried.

"What ?...Vina ...sweetheart..tell me where they are?"..her dad pleaded with her.

"So that you could harm them ...I know you are also in league with them",she snapped at him.

"Vina for God's sake..you are unknowingly harming your babies...come to your senses now sweetie",her mom shook her vigorously.But she stayed stubborn standing her ground.

Everyone in the family panicked at the thought of the safety of her kids and started looking for their barely one month old munchkins.They searched the entire mansion for the kids unable to find them.And finally it was Nick's parental instincts that made him search the store room which was barely visited by anyone.Inside one of the storage cupboards his daughter had carefully tucked her babies hiding them from outside view.Had he been late ,the babies would have been suffocated to death.He carefully took his grandchildren in his arms and rushed them to the hospital saving them on time.

Meanwhile,Davina came out of her depression episode and realized the depth of the sin she would have unknowingly committed .She blamed herself for trying to harm her babies when she rushed to the hospital to see her munchkins.She voiced out her fears to Ian for the first time when she saw her babies in the intensive care.

"I'm a bad mother,Ian.I tried to kill my babies",she sobbed clinging on to him.

"No cupcake ..you are just suffering from post partum depression.We will go through this phase.Your whole family is with you",he assured patting her head.

And surprisingly no one in her family blamed her.Instead they supported her so much so that she could handle her kids more efficiently.

From that day onwards,she accepted Nick as her dad completely as he was the reason that her kids were alive and safe. She became attached to him more than anyone in her family.With the constant support and help of her family,she came out of her depression and became a strong person.But her kids were kept as a secret and mostly Damien and Isabella took care of them as Davina was undergoing therapy and she continued her studies.

Soon Ian went back to Vegas as Davina insisted him to focus on his career as she had accepted them as her family.But it was mainly because of Dominique who instructed his daughter to send Ian to Vegas so that he can build his career back.On the outside Dominique pretended to hate his son's career choice but he totally enjoyed his son's acting talents and the man who used to hate movies sneakingly watched his son's movies and was caught red handed by none other than his daughter.It was their little secret they had kept hidden within themselves.

Two years later her dad told her about David's innocence based on Ian's revelation.But her dad reminded her that they were no longer married as she was his contract wife.She wanted to go back to him but her dad stopped her saying that David never bothered to terminate the contract when she was still with him which made her hate him as she was no longer the old naive girl .Had the contract remained intact ,she would have hated David more as she remembered each and every clause in it.

So how was the chapter?I know its a bit boring as it revolves around her past.
