Chapter Two

1816 Words
It's been about two weeks since I've been 'tutoring' Christian and it wasn't exactly a piece of cake. You see, even after Principal Mae said my name, He refused to call me by my real name. He gave me some kind of nickname and used it to get under my skin. He used his phone the majority of the time and popped his gum so loud I thought I would go insane. But even after all of that, he brought his brains to the table and pointed out things I didn't see and sort of showed me a way of doing things outside the box. Can't call us friends though, because after ever 'session' he'd make sure that I knew to stay out of his way by repeatedly reminding me about his annoying reputation and his image to keep up with. I don't care about his reputation, I mean I knew not to get in his way before his aunt paired us up for school work. I've heard of the crazy things he made people in my 'social' group do. The infamous nerd in locker thing actually exists in this school and because his aunt is the principal he gets a slap on the wrist for it.  The bell rang and I looked over at Christian who was nose deep in his phone. "Bye," I said, packing my belongings ready to dash towards the cafeteria for lunch. He looked up from his phone for a brief moment and nodded before turning his attention back to his phone. I left the quiet class and made my way towards the lunch room when I saw my best friend making her way towards her class. "Summer," I beamed and she looked up at me. "Hey! Are you heading to lunch?" She asked with a smile, I nodded and a sad look found its way on her face. She's been bummed out ever since my schedule got switched.  "I seriously wish we'd have the same lunch." Summer said in a dull tone "Maybe you can make some new friends." I said with a small wink. Honestly, I was just as upset as she was, Who was I supposed to talk to? The second bell rang, telling those who were going to class to hurry up. "So long my friend." She said dramatically. I laughed and waved goodbye before I turned to the double doors of the cafeteria. "Move." I heard a familiar voice say from behind me and all of a sudden my mood changed. I sent him a fake smile "Chris." I said and he stared at me as if I had suddenly lost my mind. "Princess." He said. I rolled my eyes "That's not my name." I said placing my hand on my hip, starting yet another argument with him over my name ... this time near the cafeteria instead of the private classroom his aunt gave us. "Princess move." He said but I ignored and glared at him "My name is Brooklyn." I said, "I didn't ask." He snapped. I rolled my eyes "I don't care if you didn't ask, I'm letting you know." I said. A smirk tugged at his lip knowing what he would say next would irritate me. "If I turned you down for s*x before I'm sorry, You're just not my type." He said with a small chuckle. My eyes widen in horror "Ew." I said then walked into the cafeteria. I don't even think I can actually digest any food now that he said that. Me? Sleep with him? I'd rather eat sand covered in saltwater for the rest of my days. I went into the lunch line and grabbed a tray. They were serving hot pizza, brownies, fries, and smoothies today. I smiled at this then grabbed three slices of pizza, four chocolate brownies, two mini boxes of fries and a large smoothie cup. What? I love eating. I turned around and searched for a table. By now everyone had already claimed the good spots and there were only like two tables left. I sighed and made my way towards the table closer to the garden. I sat down and pulled my phone out. One unread message From Henry. Henry: I'll be picking you up from school early today. I smiled at this and was about to respond when a hand reached over and literally grabbed a f*****g french fry from my tray. Before I could even turn around Chris and his friends sat down. At my table. Next to me was Dylan, who was happily eating that fry he stole from me. He went to reach for another one but I smacked his hand away. "Ow! What was that for?" He whined rubbing the top of his hand. "Excuse me, You're a fry thief and you guys are invading my table." I snapped. "You looked lonely." Chris said with a teasing smile, "Maybe I wanted to be alone, Ever thought of that?" I asked grabbing my tray. Why is he messing with me after HE told ME not to get in his way?! "Where are you going?" Chris asked "Isn't it obvious? Away from you and you and especially YOU." I said pointing at the three of them. Jaden, The other friend of Chris that sat down at my table shot me a confused look "You don't want to sit with us? I mean come on, That's what everyone wants." Chris smirked, I rolled my eyes and went outside. Immediately the hot sun greeted me with a slap in the face. I hate sitting outside. I found an empty table for one and sat down. I bit down on my pizza and closed my eyes. I reopened it to find Chris standing in front of me again.  "Didn't you tell me to stay out of your way?" I asked, "Yeah but you didn't tell me to stay out of yours though." He smirked. I smiled "Its a single-seater, You're dismissed." I said. He chuckled and sat down on the ground. I rolled my eyes and ate my food. "Don't act like we're not friends princess," Chris teased as the rest of his friends sat down around me. I blinked in shock at him, Friends? "Christian we are far from friends and you know it. You were just chewing me out a few minutes ago!" I hissed. He shrugged, "Maybe I had a change of heart. You seem like you can hold your own." He commented, "Unbelievable." I mumbled and ignored them. It literally looked like I was the teacher reading a book to a bunch of kids like it was story time or something. I looked down at my phone and ate my food. "What's your name?" Dylan asked "Brooke." Chris answered. So he knew my name. I raised my brow at this, "You don't get to call me that." I said "Why? Is it a sacred nickname? I don't follow rules, Princess." He said and I rolled my eyes "You don't get to call me that either." I said, "Well then what's your name?" Dylan asked again. "Brooklyn." I answered He smiled "Like the city?" He asked. I nodded "That's cool. I'm Dylan." He said, "I know." I said briefly. Chris raised his brow before pointing at Jaden, "Do you know his name?" He asked. I nodded and he chuckled "Gentlemen I think we have ourselves a stalker." Chris said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes "Oh please. I only know you boys because, You two," I started pointing at both Dylan and Chris "Can never stay out of trouble, Always fighting or pulling pranks on some Teacher or poor student. When you both aren't throwing your notorious pranks ... Chris, you're playing football, The quarterback may I add and Dylan you're the star basketball player." I said, Chris raised his brow and nodded "Sounds accurate. But how do you know him?" He asked pointing at Jaden, I shrugged "Heard you throw legendary parties." I answered. Jaden smiled a bit. "That is correct, Ever been?" He asked. I shook my head and sighed "No- wait, Why are you guys still bothering me? Don't you guys have anything better to do?" I asked. Chris smirked and got up "Booty call." He said with a wink. I rolled my eyes "Right." I said shaking my head. Dylan reached over and grabbed the last fry on my plate then winked at me before following Jaden and Chris inside the cafeteria. Damn fry thief.     _____                  "The second week of school and you already found, new friends?" Summer asked I rolled my eyes "Oh no, They are not my friends." I stated firmly. She shrugged "I heard they followed you outside." She said and I sighed. Damn high schoolers, Must they report everything?! "Yes, they did," I said as I saw Henry's car pull into through the schools' gates. "They never do that." Summer stated. I shrugged "They literally sat down and ate my food, I'm pretty sure they do that to everyone. I probably was their next victim." I said brushing it off. I didn't see it as a big deal. I don't understand why she was making a big deal out of this. "I want you to go home and think about how stupid you sound right now Brooke." She said shaking her head, I chuckled "I'm serious." I said as Henry's car came to a stop "So am I." She said with a bright smile, "Summerly" Henry smiled, "Hey Henry." She said. "You getting in or what?" He asked and she blushed. I rolled my eyes, That girl has had a crush on my brother since like forever. I threw my bag in the backseat and let her have the passenger seat.  What? I'm not going to c**k block the obvious attraction between both of them. "Um ... Actually I uh..-" I cut her off "Just get in." I smiled and she glared at me and reached for the handle to the back seat, "Nope. Shotgun." I said. "Ok f**k you." She mumbled before she sat in the passenger seat. "You're going straight home? Or are you coming over?" He asked pulling out of the school parking lot. "I can go to your house." She answered. I smirked "Great." Henry said then sped off to the house. "I have homework to catch up in so I'll be in my room for a while," I said. Summer's head snapped back in fear before she spoke. "Uh, I can help you." She said while giving me that what the f**k are you doing look. "Nah, It's fine, I think I can handle it." I said with a small smirk "Cool, Then I'll hang with you in the living room." Henry said to Summer "Yeah, Great." She mumbles. I giggled to myself, What homework ... It was only the second week of school.
