“I am so sorry I was gone for that long.”
Sawyer looked exhausted when he finally got back to the room, and as frustrated as Elizabeth had been, she could not be upset with him when he had clearly been held up against his will. He seemed distressed, and she wondered exactly what he had been doing that kept him away from her for so long.
“Don’t worry about it. It took a while for Selene to sort me out anyway.”
It had, but that had been hours ago now and she had stayed in the room alone since Selene left with Francesca to look around the rest of the house.
“I was with Elle. I know you weren’t going to ask, but I won’t be able to hide it from you and I don’t intend to keep you in the dark about anything important.”
