Chapter 6.

The attempt I made to calm myself was accomplished by biting my lip. Laura's mind has been going crazy since I met her wanting us to be as close as possible to each other, and when she completely screamed the word mate, it makes perfect sense to me

that I suddenly felt attracted to and drawn to this man. Remus turned suddenly and left the room just as I was about to speak. A small feeling of pain in my chest was felt as my eyes widened and my eyes grew larger. Does he really want to walk away? If he

does, why is he walking away? Neither Laura nor I were able to understand what she was saying, and both of us whined. In the middle of my study, Aspens suddenly asked me, "Luna, are you okay?" I was jerked back by her voice and tore my eyes

away from Remus's position. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about it." I nodded in agreement, lying to myself about my feelings. It wasn't necessary for Aspen to be aware of what I was doing. The answer to this question wasn't revealed to me until I

found out exactly why Remus walked away. Wouldn't he have been able to feel the bond between you two? The pull? Wasn't his wolf supposed to confirm that I was his mate before we set out on our journey? After a moment, Aspen looked at me and I forced a

smile in order to get him to back away from me. As soon as I heard those words, I went to the ground, and began to walk through the compound, not waiting for his reply, but just beginning to walk around. The whole thing was nice, and pretty much everything

was in order. In a wide open area, I stopped in a spot and immediately had an overwhelming sense of sweat, blood, and lots of males. There were half-named men everywhere, and I couldn't help but blink my eyes at them. In an attempt to explain

his reaction, Aspen stopped next to me and said, "this must be their training grounds." The sound of his voice had a hint of excitement in it, and I shook my head. Seeing Aspen staring up at me with a look of wonder in her eye, I said, "Why don't you

join them?" As he began to speak, Calvin's deep voice interrupted him and he opened his mouth to speak. "Aspen, Luna. What are you doing here?" I asked, attempting not to look at Calvin at all, but rather at the environment around me, around me. In

spite of the fact that he was not clad in a shirt, he was still a lot of male for my virgin eyes to take in, even though I wasn't attracted to him at all. Calvin laughed, but I did not pay any attention to him at all, keeping my gaze elsewhere but on the

ground. Having turned and looked at Aspen, I could see that he wanted to join us. I quickly turned my attention back to the Alpha and realized what he had said to me. I then looked at Aspen and could see that he did too. Despite my doubts, I sighed, "I

promise, I will stay with them. You take care of her.' Calvin smiled, "Don't worry about her. She will be safe here." Aspen still looked unsure, but finally nodded slowly. A serious look appeared on Aspen's face as he ordered her not to leave the grounds.

Nodding and gasping in surprise, I watched Aspen rapidly remove his shirt from the front of his shirt. During our youth, I have seen the chest of this man before, but we were very young at the time. Now that Aspen had grown into a full-grown warrior,

he had the body of a young man who had just turned twenty years of age. In spite of myself, I turned away as I whispered, "Y-you have fun." before turning my back on them and leaving them be. After walking around for some time, I thought that I had seen

everything, until suddenly I was hit by something hard that made me stop and think. A trembling sense spread through me and I suddenly gasped when I saw Remus standing there looking at me. My breath caught when I saw him. In a slow and

deliberate manner, he ran his eyes over me. My body was shaking once again as I said, "I'm sorry.". My voice was trembling once again. "Follow me," Remus looked at me and said without waiting for my reply, "follow me." I was forced to run to catch up with

him since I was unable to keep up with his long strides. Our journey got to a point where we stopped, and as we walked deeper into the woodland, I began to feel nervous, as I wasn't supposed to be out here, and I had promised not to. But, I was with

Remus. There would be no way for anything to go wrong in his life, wouldn't he? "Your my mate." He stated. With wide-eyed eyes and a nod in my head, I stared at him with wide-eyed wonder. Then frowned when he seemed disappointed. Immediately I burst

into shock, "what?" I was confused, who was my male and how was I teasing the others in the room? He scoffed at that, "well when my mate has another male and is teasing the other men, yes, that's a problem." I gaped in shock, "what?" I was confused, who was my

male and what could I have been teasing? As Remus walked up to you, he pointed to the man who stood beside you, holding your hand during my father's introduction. He was angry, but not outwardly. As soon as I realized what was going on, I laughed. I've

known Aspen since I was a small child. He's one of my dearest friends." Remus laughed out loud. "I'm not stupid. The way he looks at you, there is no way that you are simply friends." It was at this point that my anger rose. "He is a friend. He doesn't.look at me

any certain way. And I don't know what your talking about when you accuse me of teasing. What does that even mean?" As a reddened expression spread across his face, Remus said, "I will not be taken for a fool. I don't know why you and handsome boy

came here, but I can make some guesses. You would rather have someone who is not your mate like you, I have a few friends that are she-wolves like you." He stated harshly. It took me a moment to realize what was going on, "w-what?" Did he really think I

was Aspen after all? How- I don't understand. Lun.. I couldn't understand why my Michael was so angry with me. A whimper could be heard from Lacy as she asked. While I would like to be able to answer her, I actually did not even know

what she was asking. There was a slight look of surprise on my face as I saw Remus stand tall. I would never have imagined that my mate would be the same kind of woman who used men like this before. I am not going to make a fool of myself by thinking

my mate is not able to cheat on me. I never expected my mate to be like those kind of women." He said disgustedly. This made me so confused, I thought he had a feeling that I was a loose woman, is that right? That I'd cheat? What the hell? Remus' voice jolted

me out of my chaotic thoughts and drew me back into the present. The next Alpha of Black Moon is me, Remus. I am the next Alpha of Black Moon and I am the next Alpha of Black Moon." I understood what he was doing and whimpered in pain, "Please

don't do that." He ignored me. I was not sure if I had witnessed it from the way his eyes held such a small amount of regret, but I could tell that it was there, although I wasn't sure if I had seen it from the way it looked. The pain nearly made me scream as it sliced

its way through my chest, constricting my breathing. The sound of Laura howling in pain could be heard over the gasping for air that I was doing. As my eyes were clouded with tears, I closed my eyes and took deep breaths while blinked away the tears. In the

blink of an eye, Remus had disappeared from my sight. In my eyes, I noticed that he had left me in the woods, not only because he had left me alone, but also because it was getting dark and that I did not know how to get home. While looking around the thick

forest once again, I was wracked with fear as I whimpered in pain. L- Laura? I asked nervously. I'm here with you Lun. As she said the word brokey, tears streamed down my cheeks, and I felt my eyes well up with tears. He turned us down, and I don't

understand why he did that. Is he doing this to me because I have bought into his low opinion of me? It was a great feeling to stand up and shake my head. It might be that this was the best way forward, since I didn't need a mate to be queen, I was

capable of taking care of things on my own. As I kept reminding myself that I had bigger responsibilities, I was able to keep pushing forward through the challenges.
