The fold made me feel numb, and I wasn't sure whether it was the rejection or the fold that made me feel that way. The truth is, I wasn't bothered about it at all. Over the last hour, I have shed more tears than I have ever shed in my entire life. But the crying
was not just due to my mate rejecting me, it was also due to the loss of my mother, everything that had occurred in the past hours. I wanted to go home. In a desperate attempt to gain some sense of peace, I made my knees meet my chest as I inhaled deeply.
Suddenly, I heard a rustling sound that made me jump, and I was caught off guard. Honestly, I was scared when I called "H-hello?". It was almost a tear-jerking experience when I saw Aspen and Calvin pop out of the bush, but I was unable to
move because of the pain I felt. "Oh my gosh! My god, I'm so cold!" Aspen said worridly as he gently slipped his arm behind my knees and lifted me by my arms, holding onto me by both hands. "What the hell were you doing here?! What the hell
were you doing?" He asked dreamily as he gently placed his arm behind my knees and my back before lifting me to his breasts. A slight hiccup escaped me as I snuggled into the warmth of his embrace. As a result of crying too hard, an unfortunate after effect
occurs. In Calvin's worried voice message I heard a sense of concern. Aspen shook his head when I heard his worried voice message, but I was too tired to speak up for myself. My eyes were closed, enjoying the warmth so much, that I didn't realize I was
going to pass out from the warmth. I noticed I was back in my temporary room back when I got home after working, but I had a feeling of exhaustion at the time. When I walked into the room, I noticed Aspen sitting on the chair right beside me.
"Aspen?" I said confusedly. In an effort to comfort me, Aspen raised himself from the chair and rushed over to me, gently touching the top of my head and sighing. It's been so long since I've heard something so shocking!" I blushed, "I'm sorry!" Aspen
sagged as hen sat on the ground looking more serious than ever. She whispered, "Here, you've had a raging fever for three days." I looked up in amazement. The truth is that Rune was just as concerned and so is your father." Aspen flinched when she
mentioned my father, but I was already distracted by Aspen's repeated requests. The man said we could come back after the meeting if we wanted to." When he told me we would be able to go home, I was initially pleased, but soon became uneasy. A bit of
sadness could be seen in Aspen's eyes, but he managed to cover it up with a smile as he asked him, "After what?". The pack doctor informed me on the first day of your shift. "I wonder if you met your mate there?" I gasped, "How do you know?" He asked
skeptically. There was a sharp pain in my chest, even though I knew that he didn't know. In spite of my pain, I looked down at my hands, trying to keep them from bleeding. The voice of Aspen can be heard through the silence as he asks, "Lun, what's
the matter?". The moment I realized I was holding back the breath, I shook my head in disbelief. I watched Aspen frown and decided to explain to him before he asked, and I ended up explaining to him that I no longer had a mate. My voice trembled as I
whispered, "He rejected me.". My heart skipped a beat as I saw Aspen's eyes fill up with such rage and fury that I was shocked and frightened. "WHAT? Why? Who is he?" he asked. Despite my best efforts, I could not help but shake my head. While I was
blinking away tears, Aspen took a moment to restrain himself as he said to me, "It doesn't matter what he's done or what happened." Taking a breath, he calmed himself as he said to me, "It doesn't matter what he's done or what happened." I was
blinking away tears as he said these words to me. There was a deep sadness in his eyes as he gently grabbed my cheek in his hands, but he had only one thing to say, "He isn't worthy of you, Lun." He whispered. The door burst open suddenly, and in a split
second, I was froze as the scent of Remus swept over me and I just sighed weakly. Seeing Aspen's rage in his eyes, I turned around and my blood drained from my face as I looked over Aspen's shoulder. It began with Aspen looking at my face then she
looked at Remus, then she turned back and looked at me. Aspen's fury was unleashed on the ex-mate of my mat as recognition flashed across his face. "YOU!" Aspen growled. I grabbed Aspen's hand. Aspen shook with hostility, as if he was ready to
slap someone, but he slowly calmed down as if he was worthy of something. A moment later, he turned back and looked at Remus, who was eyeing Aspen as if he wanted to kill him, and looking at me in disgust while he looked down at me for a moment. Feeling
the pain in my chest, I flinched. Laura whimpered in pain. Aspen asked, "What is it you want?". Remus had just begun to say something to me when I cut him off. In spite of the pain I felt, I just couldn't allow this to continue, even though I knew I had to be
queen. In a couple of days, I will be leaving for the airport and I only have to get through a couple more days before I will be leaving. I asked Aspen to step outside for a moment. Aspen looked down at me, jerking her head. "I don't want to leave you with
him when we leave." She made a look of alarm. My eyes twinkled slightly as I looked up at him, grateful that he was my friend in the first place. Aspen gazed at Remus for a moment before walking out of the room, looking unsure then glaring at him for a
moment before responding, "I will be fine.". Without showing any emotion, I looked at Remus with my eyes fixed on the younger man. In the next few steps he moved closer to her and said, "I heard that you got sick.". All I was able to do was raise my eyebrow
and not respond. I asked him, "Do you feel better?" He replied, "I feel much better.". At the very beginning, I was surprised that he would even ask me that question but I held my head straight. There are reasons I am here but unfortunately for you and myself I
cannot accept yet. It doesn't matter. I have a good understanding of why you are here but it's not my intention to change my mind right now. Give me a couple of days and I'll let you have what you want." Remus laughed at me as he sneered. I shook my
head sadly, "no, I don't. My reasons aren't all about you." I glared at him with a mutter. There was a moment of shock, followed by a growl and a step forward for him. A sudden burst of energy came from Calvin as he entered the room and grabbed Remus'
shoulder. Remus seemed a bit surprised by what Remus was doing, yet otherwise stated his position quietly. I looked at Calvin and he looked sorry for what he had done. "I apologise for him. As a result, he was raised by his father. There was a sneer behind
Remus's eyes, as if he were to say, "Why do you think I'll change my mind?" "No, I don't." I replied with a glare as I shook my head sadly and said, "I have my own reasons and not everything is about you." I said as I turned away. There was a look of
shock on his face, followed by a growl and him stepping forward. The moment Calvin burst into the room, he grabbed Remus's shoulder and grabbed him tightly. There was a bit of surprise in Remus' voice but otherwise he stated calmly, "What the f**k
are you doing?"." He looked at me with a look of regret on his face. "I apologize for his behavior. He will be speaking with his father about it." Calvin replied. The shocked and confused look on Remus's face made me shook my head slightly amused as I watched
him. My reaction to Calvin's words was "I don't care, I'm good, thank you." as he left the room, leaving me alone once again. Taking a deep breath, my body felt warm, and I hoped the shift would speed up as soon as possible. As I tried to stay angry at
Remus, I was finding it increasingly difficult to do so. The reasons for his actions seemed to me to have a cause, but I wasn't sure what it was exactly. Rolling over, I let the feeling of exhaustion take over me, and let my body submit to it.
