One Month Later
We’ve had an overnight visit every Saturday into Sunday for the past month without incident. I always double-check to ensure Mackenzie has her stuffed monkey before leaving Mia’s house just to ensure smooth nights. The kids have requested that they come to my house when Mia has the baby, which I was surprised but excited to hear. Mia always looks exhausted, but with her due date only two weeks away, I’m starting to see why James is anxious about working his overnight shifts. If he’s on a run a hundred miles away, he’ll take too long to return for the birth. The least I can do is help with Kenzie and Eli while they stress over the ticking clock.
My mother did send me the keys, and now I’m having people in my father’s house clearing everything that belonged to my mother out
