Chapter Seventeen Moving On Arthur Teale’s cottage was one of a pair of red brick buildings, set well back from the road and backing onto a hill of rolling grassland. A generous portion of land surrounded each of the houses and a couple of large wooden outbuildings were visible to the rear. The property next to Teale’s was tidy and well maintained, but it was obvious that Arthur had been more into mechanics than gardening, and his property had more the appearance of a scrapyard.
