Chapter 5

Anna pov

After a while, I didn't even know how much I saw Lucas come out of the operating room. I smile and walk towards him. We met in the middle, and for a while, no one spoke. "How did it go? Is he okay?"

"Yes. All is well. He will need a little treatment, and he will have to stay here for a while longer, but it will be fine. In a little while, he will run and play again." he tells me with a smile, and I sigh in relief

"Thank God, I was so anxious."

"Come with me to my office to give instructions, and in a little while, you can see him." I nodded, and we went to his office. He walks beside me, and I feel my heart beating fast. Is it my idea, or is he very close to me? I don't have time to think about it because we have arrived.

He explains to me what needs to be done to me from now on. And we have completed the adoption process. I looked at him for most of the time and tried to concentrate on what he said, but it was difficult. I am doomed and in big trouble. I thought I would never let myself feel that way again. "I'm going to see some of my little patients, and I'll be back. You can stay with him if you want."

"If there's no problem, I'd like to stay," I tell him

"Of course, we'll talk soon," he tells me and touches me on the shoulder. Oh my God, his touch makes me feel weak on my knees. I sat next to my little one, I had to give him a name at some point, and I was talking about irrelevant things so that he would get used to me. After a while, I listened to Lucas and came back to see him. "How are you?"

"Fine. We're getting to know each other."

"That's good. I came to give him painkillers."

"You said Monday I can take him home.”

"Yes, it is not as severe as I told you. It's going to be a little shaky at first, but it's going to be okay"

"Ok. Then I'd better buy what I need to have them ready on Monday. I'll come after school."

We said goodbye and left to prepare the house for the arrival of my Fluffy. That's what I called him. It's all a fluffy ball, haha.

Lucas pov

As soon as Anna left, I couldn't concentrate on anything. Whatever I was doing, all I could think about was Anna. How did I get into trouble like that? From yesterday all I can think about is her eyes, smile, and hair that smells of jasmine. Damn, I pick up the phone and type Will's number.

"Will?"

"Yeah, Lucas, what's going on?"

"I want to ask you something. How did you know Alice is the only one?"

"Where did this come from? Did you meet anyone?"
