Chapter 4

Anna pov

The next day after I woke up, I took a shower, got ready, and went down for breakfast before going to the animal clinic. Lucas told me yesterday that he would start the operation at 9 am. I want to find out immediately if it went well or not. I liked the little guy. I ate a toast with turkey and cheese, got my coffee, and started for the clinic.

On the way to the clinic, I didn't stop thinking. The operation will go well, but I couldn't get Lucas out of my mind. Oh my God, his beautiful eyes and sweet smile. I was dreaming about all of him last night. Focus Anna, he is perfect, he will not look at you, he is just professional and kind.

He will already have a girl who will look like a model since he seems to have come out of a fashion magazine. I played some music to pass the time until I got to the clinic and stopped thinking about him.

After a while, I arrived at the clinic, took a deep breath, and proceeded to the entrance. It's already 8:55 am. Entering, I saw a girl at the reception in a nurse's uniform and other visitors with their pets. I walk over to the blonde girl looking at me with a smile, and I smile back. "Good morning, welcome."

"Good morning, I'm Anna Swan, I brought a puppy last night, and Dr. Anterson told me he was going to have surgery today. Has it started? Where can I wait?"

“Nice to meet you. I'm Ashley and Lukas has informed me that you will come for him. He has already undergone surgery. You will go to the first floor. When you exit the elevator, on your right is the waiting room for the owners. From there, you will see the surgeries, and as soon as Lukas comes out, you will see him, and he will inform you. " She tells me kindly.

" Thank you very much."

"I'm doing my job. Luke will be happy to see you," she tells me meaningfully. I frown at my eyebrows with questions

"I told him I would come for the puppy, but I'm interested in keeping him, so that's why." This is the reason why he doesn't want me for something else. "Hmmm," Ashley mutters

"That's where the elevator is"

"Thank you" I move on to the elevator before the conversation becomes more awkward. I pressed the button on the elevator, and before I knew it, I reached the first floor. I go out and walk to the waiting room, a living room for the people.

Lucas pov

I didn't stop thinking about Anna all night. These honey eyes, her complete lips, and her cheeks blushed when I looked at her. I have never seen such a beautiful girl in my life. She is so simple. That is, she does not try to show something that is not. She is gorgeous without much effort. When I first saw her, she was without makeup with jeans and a blue blouse, wet from the rain, but she was beautiful. Her ginger hair was all wet and all over the place, but still, in my eyes, there was no more attractive.

I arrived at the clinic and saw Ashley. Always first.

"Good morning Ashley, coffee?" "Good morning" she takes the coffee. I smile, and he tells me

"Thank you, you're the best cousin I could have," I laugh and walk over to my office.

"I have surgery today. Let me let you know so you can get the details." Ashley worked with me for three years after finishing college, and I immediately put her in the clinic. I have her as a second sister. She is the daughter of my father's sister, and from a young age, I have loved her very much.

"What happened?" she asks me and closes the door of my office. I told her the facts from yesterday, and maybe I inadvertently described Anna a little more than I should have. She looks at me meaningfully and then tells me.

"I knew it. You like her!" she says and makes festive gestures.

" Maybe"

"Don't say maybe to me. I have known you from a little girl. I know when you are interested in a girl. And this time, you speak differently from every other time. I can't wait to see her. Did you say she would come?" She tells me excitedly

"Yes, she was bound with the puppy, and she is interested in keeping it."

"Oh, what a sweet. I already see that you both fit."

"Anyway, you can go through the data, and when Anna comes, tell her to go to the waiting room. From there, I will inform her."

"Sure. I will do that." She tells me meaningfully

" Thank you"

She comes out of my office, and I look at my watch. It's 8:30 a.m., and I'm saying I'm getting ready for surgery. The sooner I finish, the little guy will be fine, and the faster I will see Anna. We all win. I leave the office and go to the rooms where we have the dogs. I inform Ashley and go to prepare the little one for the operation. I looked again at the exams I did yesterday. I'm talking to the nurse getting the little one ready in the operating room. I do my sterilization and proceed with the operation.
