Chapter Seven The banquet hall was noisier than I expected. I smoothed down the skirts of yet another unfamiliar dress. None of the clothing that had been waiting for me in the room they'd assigned was recognisable to me. I hadn't enough experience when it came to clothes. Thankfully, Rosemary seemed to be more clued in than I was, and had instructed me on what to wear for each event and time of day. It had briefly crossed my mind she could be trying to sabotage me by telling me the wrong information, but I found that unlikely. Each time she'd told me what a dress was for, and how I should have the maids do my hair to match, it clicked in my mind and made sense.
