After almost 45 minutes of driving, the group pulled up to their headquarters. "Roach, what the hell man?" asked Doc. "Protection? For some junkie wondering the streets?" Leaning back of the bike, Rock adjusts Mayah in his arms to take her inside ignoring his closest friend and advisor. Making his way into the building and up the steps, Roach lays Mayah down in one of the guest rooms closing the door. As he turns to go back down the steps, Doc stops him again with a menacing look. "Roach, man...look. We can't be bringing home anything and everyone just because they're in trouble" he states. "First, I decide that." Roach said pushing past his friend. Walking up to the bar, he pulls out a beer. "She'll stay here until she calls her parents in the morning and she's gone" he said taking a sip from his beer. Leaning back in his stool, he glances at the stairs. 'She's the same age as Krista before she disappeared' thought Roach. Thinking of his daughter and the day she went missing years ago, he pulls out a bottle of whiskey. 'Tomorrow after I get answers, maybe i will have a new lead' he thought to himself walking back up the stairs with his bottle to his room. Closing the door to his room, he sits on his bed and takes a drink from the bottle before setting it on his night stand. Laying back staring at the ceiling, he tries to clear his mind before falling asleep . Mayah's POV Rolling over from the suns rays through the window, Mayah opens her eyes. Looking around not recognizing where she is, she rolls out of bed in a panic. 'Oh my god, where am i?' she thought. Tip-towing towards the door she turns the knob. 'Its not locked." she thought to herself trying to think of an escape plan. She feared that room she was in wouldn't be much better from where she was held last night before running away. Walking back to the bed and the dresser to look for some clothes, a quick knock at the door startled her. "Mornin, I thought you might be hungry" states the man walking through the door with a plate of food in his hands. As the man walked towards the bed, Mayah ran to the far corner of the room . "Hey, your safe here.. Don't be scared" said the man with his hand out. "Remember me from last night?" he asked Mayah nodded not moving from her spot. "No one will hurt you here. Do you understand?" He asked taking another step towards her still with his hand out. Nodding again , this time Mayah takes a small step towards her savior. "Last night, they said your name is Mayah?" he asked "Yes" she whispered. Taking another small step towards the man she stops. "Are you my new owner?" she asks looking down at her feet still cuffed together. "No. Noone is your owner." he said. "Can i take your cuffs off?" Mayah nodded. Walking over to the man, she stands toward the corner of the bed. "Thank you for saving me" she whispered. "Eat your food. There should be some clothes in the dresser that you can wear until some of the old ladies get here to buy you some clothes" he said standing up. "Come downstairs when your done." "Wait..what do I call you?" she asked as he was making his way to the door. "Roach" he said walking out closing the door behind him. After showering and getting dressed, she picked at her breakfast and decided she procrastinated enough. Still uncertain of her saviors actions, she decided to see what kind of a place she was in and to wait a little longer to see if she would be punished. After another 10 minutes passed, Mayah gathered her leftover breakfast and made her way down the stairs . "Mayah, i thought you went back to bed" said Roach from a chair near the base of the stairs not budging from his spot, "Im sorry master" said Mayah quietly frozen place, Feeling the tears swell up in her eyes she looks down at her feet again waiting for the screaming...but it never came. Standing up Roach walks over towards Mayah and reaches for her hand. Flinching in anticipation of a punch or a kick, Mayah whimpers. "Don't call me master" says Roach crouching alittle to meet Mayah's gaze. "No one is your master, do you understand? Not here, not anywhere." "I'm sorry Mr. Roach" said Mayah. "You didn't eat much" stated Roach eyeing her plate. "I wasn't that hungry" said Mayah following Roach to the kitchen. Noticing the trash can in the corner, Mayah dumped the remaining food from her plate and proceeded to the sink to wash her dishes. "Kid, you don't have to wash your dish" said Roach taking the plate from her. "Go have a seat at the table" he said placing the sink in the dish. Following her into the next room, Doc and Stitch were already in the room waiting. "So kid, what's your name?" said a tall tan tattooed man leaning back in his chair. Mayah glanced at Roach for permission to speak. After a few moments of silence, Mayah took a step towards Roach. "Mr. Roach, am i allowed to speak?" She asked "Mr. Roach?" bellowed the man in laughter. "Kid! Who told you that was his name?" he asked "Stitch!" yelled Roach. "Mayah, it's just Roach, No mister, okay?" said Roach trying to hide how annoyed he was at Stitch;s outburst. "You don't need permission to speak okay? Stitch and Doc just want to talk, alright?" Mayah nodded taking another step towards Roach. "So, Mayah huh..." said the other man she now knew as Doc. "where's your parents?" "I don't have parents" stated Mayah looking at her fingers, "I've been an orphan since I was five" said Mayah sadly. "Any family?" added Stitch slowly. "No." Mayah said looking across the table at the two men. Looking at each other, not sure what to say next, Roach breaks the silence. "Mayah, how old are you?" "Fourteen" she said quietly. She looked up from her hands long enough to notice the soften looks they gave each other. "My owner-" she started before being cut off. "No!" yelled Roach. "You don't have a master." he said clenching his teeth. "Im sorry" she whispered dropping to her knees. Realizing his mistake, he tries to comfort her as the other two men stand up from the table to get a better view of the shaken teen. Reaching for her, she slid back her bottom from him eyes full of tears. "I'm not going to hurt you. I'm sorry I yelled" Roach pleaded looking to the other men for assistance. "Yeah, he yells all the time but he dont mean it" said Stitch smiling at her sympathetically. He knew that even though Roach is the president of the Devils Angels, he wouldn't harm a kid. Especially one near the age of Roach's daughter who disappeared. "Please don't be afraid of me-" he said kneeling down as Mayah backed herself into the corner. "I just don't want you calling that ass anything other than his name" he said waiting for her to look at him. A tear slid down her cheek. She didn't know how to tell these men she wasn't allowed to call him anything but Master when not in his presence. After her parents died, she spent years in captivity with her master, Marco. A ruthless man with an unhealthy obsession for power and women, he took a liking to Mayah after killing her mother and father. Seeing how upset he was at himself she sighed wiping her tears trying to gather the strength to tell them her story. "I'm not allowed to speak his name when he's not here" she said quietly. "If he finds out-" she began before being cut off. "He's not here" added Doc. "Your safe here." Turning towards Stitch with a frown on his face, he walked over to the window trying to think of a new strategy. Feeling a pang of guilt at his words to his club president about bringing the broken teen to their headquarters. Turning back to face her, he walks slowly towards Mayah and kneels down next to Roach. "If you aren't ready to talk about him" he lets out, "Fine" he said looking at Roach waiting for him to catch on to his plan. "How about we introduce you to your new family" chimes Stitch from across the room. He knew they agreed she would have a short stay but seeing the girls pain made it clear she wouldn't be safe outside the club walls anytime soon. "Family?" she asked quietly. She looked at the three men for any signs of deception but found none. After a few moments, she nodded getting up slowly from the floor. What if they don't like her she thought to herself. Seeing the worry on her face, Roach put his hand her back leading her out of the room where the rest of his men stood. As they entered the room, their hardened faces soften as they glanced at Mayah. Looking around the room making sure everyone was present he guided Mayah through the men to the front of the room. "This is Mayah. She is now under my protection and the protection of Devils Angels" he stated. "Let it be known to the she is now a daughter of the Devils. We protect our family." He looked around to make sure everyone understood his orders. The few members missing would be filled in when they got there. Clearing his throat he continues, "Those of you with us last night on business saw her when I brought her home. No harm is to come to her." Content with his speech he turned around facing Mayah. "Welcome to the Devils Angels kid" he said with a smile on his face.
