Come Closer

Chapter 50

James was taking a nap on the sofa, taking the full advantage of the silence he got from a long, long time. Lyena was not home, she went with Adrian on shopping. It was only James and his two kids at home.

He had put Jamy and Lily to sleep about an hour ago. 'Aaah! This is what the freedom is like!'

Suddenly he was jolted up from the sleep. He looked at the clock with shaky eyes. Oh. My. God! It was already five in the evening! He thought he was going to take a nap but, he was surprised to see that he had been asleep for three hours!

He listened. He frowned. It was silent. Too silent for him to be relaxed. Can Jamy and Lily still be asleep?

'I should check on them.'

He got up quickly. He glanced at the mirror that was hanging on the wall beside the stairs.

"Aaaaaargh!" His face was red! He quickly traced his finger on his face. Lipstick??

James turned around when he heard the sound of little giggles coming from behind the sofa. Lily and Jamy were holding two lipsticks.

They ran to the far side of the sofa when hey saw James stomping towards them. "Whose idea is this?" He narrowed his eyes.

"Not mine!" Jamy shouted. "Jamy's," Lily said.

James sighed as he had already understood that Lily was the creator of this prank. She is the troublemaker of the two twins.

"Are those mom's?" James pointed at their hands. "Who else's?" Lily giggled with Jamy.

"Come here you two!"

And they ran away.

James groaned when he hit his pinky toe on the corner of a chair when he tried to chase them. He started jumping on the other leg. "Deep breaths James. Deep. Breaths."

"James? What are you-" Lyena was cut off by the screams that followed.

"MOMMAAAAAAA!!!" Jamy and Lily appeared out of no where and ran to hug Lyena.

"Hahahahahaha" Adrian, who had entered the house at that moment, bursted out laughing. "WHAT IS THAT!" He bent down laughing.

James plopped himself on the sofa. "Laugh all you want!"
