Forced Mating

"My momma don't like you and she likes everyone." -Justin Beiber, Love Yourself. Silas knew what he wanted.  But it was rare in life he got what he wanted.  The second-born son of Alpha Samuel Aaron and Alpha Female Hayley Johnathan put a lot of pressure on the eighteen-year-old wolf. He wasn't to slack off or fall behind, he wasn't to back down from a challenge or show weakness. He shed blood, kicked ass, and he tried to keep his head up no matter the difficulty.  But no matter what he did he couldn't bring him back.  Bring Jackson back.  His brother, who was older than him by a year, died in a freak accident a couple of years ago. It had been a devastating loss and yet his family pretended as if nothing happened and continued to live their lives.  Silas was now in line to be alpha, his father putting more and more pressure on his shoulders to be the strongest. The fastest. The most feared.  As the heir to the throne of the Underworld Pack, Silas had no choice in who he was going to be.  It was already decided for him. A lot of things were... "Have you been speaking to Rachel?" His mother asked him as a way of greeting when he walked into the kitchen. "No," Silas said blandly as he sat down at the table. He felt irate, his gums had been aching, feet and hands throbbing, and he couldn't seem to focus.  Hayley looked at her son and pursed her mouth seeing him rubbing his jaw, "What's the matter with you?"  Silas looked at his vexed mother and sighed, "Nothing."  Silas didn't tell his mother how horrible he was feeling because it wouldn't garner him sympathy or concern for his wellbeing from her. If anything he'd get a stern lecture about whining and get more exercises stacked onto his daily workout regimen.  Eating his breakfast barely tasting it, Silas looked up when his father walked in and greeted him without making eye contact.  Slamming his fist on the table, Alpha Samuel boomed, "What's with this weak ass front you're putting on this morning. Look me in the eye boy!" Looking up at his father, Silas met his gold eyes and greeted him again. Stronger, louder, more animalistic making his old smile and nod.  "Good, now what's eating you?"  Silas coughed, "Nothing sir."  Alpha Samuel looked at his son, but didn't call him out on his lie. Sighing he instead asked, "Your mother asked you about Rachel. What's going on there? You two started planning when you two will do the chosen mate ritual?"  Silas almost bent his fork but instead said, "No father...I met my true mate."  Both of his parents froze in shock hearing this.  When Silas didn't find his mate at sixteen they naturally assumed he didn't have one. But now hearing he was actually mated to someone shocked them. "Oh?" Alpha Samuel said surprised, "Her name?"  Silas shook his head, "Don't know. She ran from me before we could speak, she thought I was...she left. And I didn't get her information."  Hayley looked her son over carefully and asked, "Did you get a scent? We can take you around the packs and see if you can find her."  And now the hard part... "She's a witch,"  It took ten seconds for Silas' parents to register what he said, for them to come to terms with it, and refuse to accept it.  "No!" Alpha Samuel boomed in disgust, "Absolutely not!" Hayley calmed her mate before turning to her son in a fiery rage, "Son, we know we've let some of our lower ranking wolves mate with witches, but you're an alpha! Your children need to be born of the purest bloodline. You can not mate with this witch because it can be possible for your children to be born as witches. Not wolves."  Alpha Samuel slammed his mug down as he added his two cents, "And they'd be disgraces to our bloodline! We've been nothing but purebloods since the beginning boy and nothing will change that!"  Silas wanted to yell at his ignorant father. Tell him what an asshole he was and that no matter what his child would be born as, he would love it regardless. But he knew that would be starting a war with his father.  A war he wasn't even close to being ready for.  Looking down into his bowl fighting to shift, Silas looked up when a hard hand came down on his shoulder. Looking into his father's cold gold eyes, Silas listened to his deep growl as he commanded him, "Reject her and then mate with Rachel son. It's what's best if you want to be alpha of this pack."  Silas knew the threat was real. He knew his father had secretly trained his younger brother Omen to take over in case he failed.  But Silas would never put his brother through this. This aching of never being enough, this imaginary finish line that kept moving. He couldn't do it even if he desperately wanted to.  Getting up, Silas walked out of the house without another word and headed into the woods. Body shaking, body hurting Silas collasped to the ground as every bone in his broke and reshaped itself. His fur erupting over his skin as he roared into the morning woods. As Silas' large grey wolf shook out his fur, his gold eyes glowed in power before he took off running. Silas ran for miles, his body pushing himself farther and farther away. When he got to the lake in the heart of the woods, Silas stopped and got a drink.  Hearing footsteps he looked up to see his future beta Maverick walking to him. Shifting back, Silas accepted the shorts from his best friend and sat down with him next to the lake. "My dad sent me out here, said your dad was in a mood." Maverick started as an explanation.  Silas leaned back as he admitted, "I found my mate" Maverick looked at him shocked, "Dude that's great! Why would he be pissed about that?"  Silas sighed, "She's a witch, not a wolf."  Maverick frowned in confusion and then shrugged, "Still not keeping up, wolves mate with witches all the time." Silas laughed bitterly, "Yeah not from our bloodline apparently. My dad has this f****d up sense of duty to make sure our bloodlines stay pure wolf."  Maverick looked at Silas annoyed, "Your dad's a dick." Silas laughed, "I know."  Both fell silent as they both mauled over their thoughts.  Maverick looked up into his friend's face and whispered softly, "What are you going to do?"  Silas slowly shook his head, "My father wants me to reject my mate and go through the chosen mate ritual with Rachel." Maverick shook his head, nose scrunched up in disgust, "Which you and I both know she'll fail. She's a hoe who had jumped from every alpha, regent, sorcerer or duke's d**k without blinking. She's a power-hungry b***h, no pun on her being a werewolf."  Silas nodded at the truth even though he knew he might be stuck with her ass for the rest of his life. Maverick looked at him curiously, "What's your mate like?"  Silas shook his head, "Don't even know." Smiling wistfully he thought of the beautiful woman he had seen, "She was gorgeous though. Her long red hair shined like fire, she was pale and curvy. She was a f*****g slice of heaven on legs."  Maverick whistled, "Damn."  Silas groaned into his hands, "Dude I'm f****d. I can't stop thinking about her and I barely know her! How the f**k am I supposed to force myself to feel anything for Rachel when I know it won't compare to what I feel for my mate? Someone I don't even really know?"  Maverick looked to his friend seriously and told him, "We need a plan."  Silas perked up as he looked at his friend, "We?"  Maverick grinned as he smacked Silas' shoulder, "I'm your beta man. I'm going to fight for my rightful luna."  And with that the alpha and beta fell into an intense conversation.
