Chapter 24
It had been a week since Shaun told his chief he was stepping down. His chief wasn’t too happy, but he also said he understood, then wished Shaun all the best of luck with the door open if he ever wanted to return. He had no intention of returning, though. He’d applied for his PI license and was happy spending time with Ellie while he tried to figure out his next steps.
He and Ellie just got home after having lunch with her sister and Drake Stevens. Both were good people, and Shaun and Drake had hit it off immediately. He wouldn’t mind having the man as a brother-in-law in the future. He was also glad to have another male around when Ellie and Sophie got chatting.
