Amelia POV
Amelia looked down at the tray of her food as her stomach growled. She was afraid to touch it. She looked up at the closed door, as her heart hammered in fear. Is this some sort of a trick? Amelia thought that if she touched the food, would Enzo come back and drag her back into the dungeons. Therefore she waited a while.
A few moments when no one came, Amelia released a long breath and laid her back against the headboard. She looked down at her treated arm, the food and thought of Enzo’s apology. Not only her thoughts, but Amelia’s feelings were all over the place. She couldn’t understand what was going on with her. Though she was scared of Enzo, his warm gesture just warmed up her heart, but was it genuine or in the heat of the moment.
I really hope that it was genuine. I don’t think I could survive another wrath of his. Amelia shivered as she thought of what happened in the dungeon.
Rubbing her finger over her treated arm where Enzo kissed, it was almost as if he was too scared to hurt Amelia. Amelia never thought of Enzo being gentle or soft, but tonight he proved her wrong. His eyes were showing guilt and remorse.
Is that possible for someone like Enzo?
Amelia stared back at the door, as her heart conflicted with Enzo. Amelia was completely unsure if Enzo was truly apologetic or if he was just bluffing. Being in the world she lives in, Amelia has learned that within every person, there is a hidden person that we don’t know.
There were so many insecurities running through her mind, and she did not know what to understand. One thing that Amelia had confirmed in her mind was that Enzo was unpredictable. Even as an Alpha, no one could predict his next move.
But another thing about Enzo that Amelia knew was that she couldn’t trust him, especially not with the way he just treated her. Amelia may be soft, innocent and vulnerable, but she definitely wasn’t stupid. As of right now, she was thankful to be alive and this was all that mattered to her.
Amelia took in a deep breath and relaxed her tense muscles. She was so hungry, and tired that when she gazed at the tray full of food, her stomach growled loudly. As she made slow advancements towards the tray of food, she could no longer hold back her hunger. Amelia began to eat and as her stomach was getting full, she felt that it would burst from the limitless foods.
Once content, Amelia placed the tray on her night table and lead back against the headboard. Despite the recent actions from Enzo and his most trusted warriors from his pack, Amelia felt that life in Enzos pack was much safer from her previous pack– Federico pack.
Amelia was exhausted from her whirling thoughts and decided to call it a night. She laid down deeper into the softness and snuggled under the covers. She turned to her side and stared at the door and blinked continuously. Her began to shut and Amelia was soon falling into a deep slumber. She had no desire to fight her sleep as body gave out and relaxed as she slept. As she was falling asleep, a voice deep inside her said
“be careful”.
Amelia did not have the energy to analyze as her body and mind gave out into a deep sleep.
Victor Pov:
“Dam it! Where is she?!” It's been a week since Amelia escaped and Victor's warriors couldn't find her. Even his most trusted men were unable to locate her. They couldn't even detect her scent.
“Find that b***h! Now!” Victor screamed into his phone and threw it across the room. He stood up from his chair rapidly as it fell down and came in front of his desk. He angrily pushed all of his papers on the door making a big mess.
“Calm down Victor. We will find her. She can't go that far” Marcus says.
Victor’s wolf tried to ease his owner. Victor has been looking for Amelia endlessly. Day and night. He had all his men searching for but no one had found her yet. He had no idea where she could be. She had no friends, no allies, victor had no idea where she disappeared to.
“she must have gone far, that's why we can't find her you dumb mutt!” Victor roared at his wolf.
“Relax human, she's ours. We will find her.” Victor agreed with his wolf.
Amelia was his and his alone. No one could have she was his to torture. His to use in any way he wanted. She was his ever since Argus arranged Amelia's marriage with him at ten years old. Victor has been aggressively oppressed with her. Anyone who would take Amelia would die mercilessly.
But now, she is gone. And this was not something Victor was willing to accept. He was determined to find her no matter what. And once he had her back, he would make Amelia bleed for him.
He would punish her mercilessly so that she would regret escaping his territory. His pack, his people. She was their Luna.
His train of thoughts were interrupted as the door opened. In walked Argus.
“Did your men find her yet?” Argus asked, frustrated. Victor shook his head no and loomed back at his wall in rage.
“why is it that your men can't find her? They are the best trackers and warriors we have. And yet they can't find an omega. A weak, broken human.” Argus growled and raked his hair in frustration.
“ I don't know.” Victor growled and gritted his teeth. He did not need his questioning right now. Argus, not satisfied with his answer, stepped forward until they were eye to eye.
“ I left her in your care Victor. Now that I am back I hear that my stepdaughter is gone.” Argus argued. “As the former alpha of this pack, I am questioning my decision about giving you the alpha position. You can't even track down an omega with a dead wolf.” Victor glared at Argus as he spoke of him disrespectfully.
“you better find her soon Victor or else you can forget about being an alpha.” Argus growled and stalked out of the room and slammed the door behind him. Victor was now pissed. How dare he threaten him with the alpha title.
“How dare he threaten us?!” Marcus growled. Victor agreed, the old man held no power over him. He was now the alpha of the Federico territory and no one questioned his authority.
Remove me as alpha. Victor sinisterly laughed. He was annoyed by the old man's bullshit. No one threatened him and no one told him what to do.
“your time is up Argus.” as he stared at the door. Victor began looking out the window.
You better hope that I don't find you Amelia. Because when I do, it will be horse than hell.
