Lukas POV 5 days earlier** The day of Ryker's death** The day Lena left to the Fae Kingdom** Thank the goddess my babies knew to lock themselves in a safe room. Kade told me that as soon as they heard a gunshot, he and Luca grabbed Ryn and Zeke and went down to the basement to the safe room. They didn't see their dad had died, but unfortunately, they felt it. They ran into my arms the moment I walked in, all of whom were crying. I held them and cried with them. My grandfathers came, and Lenas parents were here with me. They were all holding all of us. My grandfather's, the quadruplet kings all took Rykers' body with them when they went back to the castle. After an hour of calming my babies and feeding them, I left them with their grandparents, Lena's parents. They were safe now. I made my way to the castle. When I arrived, my grandmother Harley hugged me tight. "You have him with you?" she asked as she held me at arms length. My grandma Harley doesn't look like a grandma. She and my grandfathers don't age. All royals age slowly, but it's the leaders that completely stop aging. Something to do with an oath they made when taking leadership. Harley has her youthful heart-shaped face, straight nose, plump pink lips, big icy blue eyes, and white blonde hair. Ryker has her eyes. I get mine from the quadruplet kings. I knew what she was talking about. "Yeah, Storm came at me after the person disintegrated. Both are sleeping. Can you call on Uncle Elliot? Maybe he can take a look at the scene and help us? I'm going to check on Ryker first, then head back to rematch the footage of when it all happened." She nodded, "Alright, I will call him right away. Take good care of those babies, don't leave them too long, they need you right now." I nodded as I walked away from her, heading to the basement where they most likely were keeping Ryker. I stared at Rykers body. He wasn't covered up. They left him laying on a single bed. Reed was working on him, and Rykers' shirt was undone. "What, uh?" I trailed off, I was surprised he was here instead of a doctor. Reed looked up at me as he had on gloves and was holding a scissor type tool in his hands. "I have to take out the bullet, then clean the wound and seal it shut so he can heal as he transitions. Hopefully, he won't take long to come back. He shouldn't take long." He went back to working on him. "Do you think I took long because I was burnt to a crisp?" I asked curiously. "Yeah, your entire body and organs had to heal. That's why your transition took longer." He paused and looked up at me, "I asked a royal vampire who is considered a friend. He told me he doesn't need to be buried, like you did." He went back to work. I didn't want to disturb my grandfather Reed any further, so I left without saying anything. When I got back to the cabin, my kids weren't home. They probably took them to their cabin across the lake. Uncle Elliot was there waiting for me. "Let's look at the footage." I told him, as I pulled out a tablet from the kitchen drawer. It was a hidden drawer that only Ryker, Lena, Weston, Elliot, and I know about. Elliot is also an ageless warlock. He sometimes changes his appearance. Right now, he has brown hair like mine, and green eyes, tall athletic build, he's as tall as me. "Who are you today?" I asked as I scanned through the roadway footage first, a hidden camera that views the driveway. "I am me. This is my real self, the looks I was born with." He tells me. I took a good look at him. He was a handsome man. No facial hair, square jawline, or a dimple on one side when he talks. His short brown hair was pushed back and perfect. His eyes were narrow and a light green. His skin was slightly tan, a shade lighter than me. "What?" He asked. I shook my head, "Nothing. I look similar to you except the eyes." He smirked, then he pointed at the screen. "There." I stopped the footage. The cloak figure came in quick and was floating. This person did not touch the ground. They literally came in floating. It was just the head floating, and the rest of the cloak was swaying with their speed. Then they hid behind the garage and took on a human like figure. What the f**k is that? "That doesn't make any sense. It's not magic. This is something else entirely. I did check the scene outside. Whoever came here didn't use any magic. We need to investigate further. We need to ask border patrols and check the outskirts trail cams. This is very strange. I've never seen anything like this before. I also think that we should include a vampire to come here to do a double check on this footage. We need to be sure it wasn't their kind because some vampires do have abilities we don't know about. I know its not the fae they don't disappear like that. They can't teleport in our realm, only theirs. Like I said, there was no magic involved either, so it couldn't be a witch or warlock either. I doubt a wolf can do that." He told me. I nodded with a frown, "Okay, I will ask my grandfathers of who we can get to come here to help us out. They know the vampires better than me." "In the mean time, I will cast a spell of protection around you and your children. I did years ago but now I will do it again just in case. Where's Lena?" He asked, as he just now realized she was gone. He glanced around the house. "Shes gone to see king Finn, I have no idea when she will get back." I told him. Elliot nodded, "Getting rid her blanking out phase I guess?" "Yeah." I nodded, Of course Elliot would know, the guy is not here all the time but he knows things that we don't know. I am surprised he wasn't shown a warning of this, since hes also a seer. "Like I have said, I don't get to choose what I see and don't see." He tells me then taps his chin, "I will send word to queen Freya and let her know what is going on here so she can relay the message to Lena. That way Lena doesn't go into shock from the ripping of the mate bond when she comes back to this realm." After that we drank coffee and ate some apple pie that Lenas mom dropped off when she brought home the kids. Elliot moved himself into one of the spare rooms on the main floor, but he casted his protection spell over us before he went to his room. I took the kids with me upstairs and into the room that used to be mine, which was right bedside Lena's massive room she shares with Ryker. I bathe all of them one by one and they dressed themselves into their pajamas and asked to stay with me tonight. As if I would say no to them. I let them watch TV while I showered but not before bolting the bedroom door locked. Yeah, I had a bathroom and walk in closet in this huge bedroom and a couch and TV. After I washed up and dressed in gym pants and a grey tank top shirt, I turned off the TV, gathered my kids and slept with them on the giant bed. All three boys on my left side and Ryn on my right. Of course I had to purr to get them to sleep quicker.
