Lukas POV (Day 2 of Lena being away in the Fae Kingdom)
The next day, I woke up and smiled because Kade, Zeke, Luca, and Ryn were all sitting up around me, watching me sleep. They all grinned at me at the same time, I chuckled and asked them, "Breakfast?"
They scrambled off the bed so fast that I burst out laughing. They ran out of the room and down stairs. I followed them. "So? What do you guys want for breakfast?" I asked my babies.
"Scrambled eggs and bacon!" Luca said as he sat at the table.
Ryn says, "I'll have cereal, please." She was already sitting at the table drumming her hands on the table loudly.
"Scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, ham, and toast for me." Kade says. I smiled. He definitely gets his appetite from me. I'll be having the same as him.
"Zeke?" I asked the miniature Ryker, who sat there leaning back in his seat, folding his arms over his chest, looking bored.
He tapped his chin as he pondered what he wanted. Yup, definitely, Ryker. Ryker doesn't have a favorite. He switches it up all the time. It's hard to know what he wants, but it is always guaranteed that he will let you know exactly what he wants. "I feel like strawberry pancakes with whip cream." He finally says.
He even talks like his dad at times, so straightforward. He doesn't beat around the bush at all. He also knows when to be serious, "Sure thing, bud."
Soon, I was sitting at the table with all 4 of my babies eating what they all wanted to eat. Now, to think of a game plan to keep them all busy today and then get them feeling tired so they can go to bed early.
How do you explain to three 4 year olds and one 3 year old that their daddy isn't quite dead, but he is dead? I could tell them, but a small part of me wants to be sure Ryker comes back. I know he will, but it's hard to tell. We are all new to the vampire resurrection stuff.
"Daddy, I'm done. Can we go see Papa and Nanny now?" Kade asked as he took his empty plate to the sink.
Papa is Lena's dad Creed. Nanny is Lena's mother, Emmy. Those two are so great with children that I am 100% sure they'd have a better game plan for me. Calm spoke in my head, "We should go see uncle, maybe he could take us to Lena." Yeah, my wolf still had a bond with Lena, a familial bond.
I nod to no one in particular. Ryn giggles. I look to her, raising my eyebrow. She grins as she says, "Daddy, you always make a poop face every time Daddy Calm talks to you." Calm just laughs in my head and beams at our pup. The monster will fold for the little ones anytime. He loves it when they refer to him as daddy calm.
"That is probably because Calm is mean." I tell her.
She glares at me, "He's not mean at all. He's always right. What did Daddy Calm say? We had to listen to him."
Calm just wags his tail at our little one. Ryn's golden colored eyes like mine were searching mine. Waiting for my reply. "He wants me to go check on your mom. I will take you to Papa and Nanny's right away if you all are ready?"
Zeke was already trying to put on his shoes by the door. Kade was leaning on me. Ryn was staring at me waiting. Luca licks his plate and then says, "Now I'm ready. Let's go!"
I chuckled to myself as I helped Zeke with his shoes. Soon, we were walking inside Creed and Emmys cabin, not far from Lena's house. "Alright, kids, the new movie Stitch just came out, and we are going to head over to the theater in town to watch it. So, just leave your shoes on." Creed tells the kids as they cheered, then he looks at me, "We will be meeting with your brothers, mate Gemma and the kids, and also Hardin. The guy has a day off, plus he's dying to watch Stitch." He laughs and shakes his head, "Hardin sure reminds me of his mother. She was the same way, loved animals, and enjoyed being with children always. His brother, however, is a very dedicated, reliable soldier, like his father Stryker. Anyway, " He lowered his voice, "You let me know about my baby girl."
My eyes widened. How'd he know I was going to check on Lena. He gives me a pointed look. He grasped my shoulder and said, "A father knows. I also know that she won't take this news easy. My baby has a big heart and mess with it. She'll skin ya."
I smiled at him, "Yeah." I nod at him.
He waves me off and says, "Tell Elliot hi for me."
I nodded.
Later on, I was standing by the outskirts of where the realm should be. I was waiting for my uncle to show up. "You're way off, boy." His voice comes from behind me. I didn't even hear him coming. "A lot on your mind, especially alone in the woods, can get you killed when you aren't paying attention. You're an alpha male Lukas, always keep aware of your surroundings." He scolds me.
I turn to look at my uncle, who is a very powerful warlock and oracle. He was wearing worn jeans, a plade black and grey shirt that had sleeves that were folded to his elbows. He was wearing brown leather work boots. His brown wavy hair was brushed back. His golden colored eyes were like mine. My uncle was using his true form. Usually, he makes himself look like an old man with white hair and a long beard. Little inside joke for himself, he said he was inspired by the wizard on the animated movie called The Sword in the Stone. Crazy old man.
Silently, I followed him 30 feet ahead to where I thought I was. He took my hand, and we jumped through the sliver of King Finn's realm. Then he teleported us to the castles front doors.
A small woman came walking toward us. She was wearing a long green, yellow sparkling dress. It had long sleeves, a v neckline. She had long chestnut hair that was below her knees. On top of her head was a small moonstone terra. Her hair was in a half updo, with yellow flowers in it. She looked like a flower of the forest.
She bowed slightly as we also bowed to her in return, "Greetings Future Lycan King and my dear friend Elliot." Then she gave me her hand to shake, and I took it, "My name is Queen Freya. I am assuming you came here for Lena?"
I nod as I let go of her hand, "Yes, my queen."
"She's undergoing healing right now with my husband. We can not disturb them, or else they both will get hurt. No one knows when they will be done." She gestured to the kingdom, "Would you both like to have tea with me, and we can discuss more, perhaps? I have a feeling there is more."
"Okay." I tell her. My uncle follows me as I follow the queen inside.
When we reach indoors, she opens the doors to the right and steps aside to let us through. We step into an office. "My office is upstairs in my wing of the castle. This office is used by my husband and myself for quests who aren't staying long. I have a feeling you won't stay long."
"No. I have to get back to my kids." I tell her.
Elliot shuts the door, and we stand side to side as we tell her what happened after Lena left. The queen listened intently. She gave her condolences but then was surprised when Elliot told her what happens to born vampires when they die. She was surprised to hear. Funny. Everyone was shocked to hear that a born vampire comes back from the dead, fully turned.
Elliot goes on to explain, "It's something the royal vampires had put in place years ago as their law. To keep that fact hidden from all. Even from their own kind. They thought it was better for their foes to be surprised when they think they kill one of the vampires. It comes in handy in battles. Unfortunately, the royals are the only ones who take the longest to awaken. Other regular vampires who are born, sometimes wake the same day or right after. Lukas took what?"
I shrugged, "A week, I think. I don't remember. I wanted to ask if maybe you can keep this to yourself. Then, when she comes back over to our realm, I can tell her. She'll take the news better from me. Just let me know when she's coming, and I will be ready."
Queen Freya nodded, "Alright. I will send you a fire note. I will feel it when they are done, I will send the note then, before she can see me." She got up and gave me a gentle hug and said, "That's for strength. You will find the right words for your little ones." She let me go and shook Elliots hand. He kissed her hand as he smiled at him. She quickly bid us goodbye as Elliot teleported us to the sliver.
I knew she put some magic into me. My magic felt it. My wolf felt her warmth and love. She's sending her love to my children. which I am grateful for. I wasn't at all surprised that the queen knew my internal battle of what I wanted to tell my kids.
