Chapter 5

Lena POV The weird thing about being here is I can't feel my mate bond. I can't feel Ryker's emotions or anyone else, I literally can't even mind Link. Being here is like being my person again. This feeling is peaceful but, lonely at the same time. You get so used to feeling your mate and your little ones. As sad as this is right now, it is kind of nice, in a way. It is a little refreshing to feel what I feel. "It's because you are in a different realm. That is why you can't feel him." King Finn said as he greeted me the moment I teleported to his library in the castle. Of course, he can hear my thoughts. He couldn't in our realm but here in his domain, he could read everyone's thoughts. "Are you hungry? Thirsty?" He asked as he shook my hand in greeting. "I also, can't hear everyone's thoughts, just the ones I choose, but some can hide their thoughts from me, it is only by my touch I can see every thought that they ever had." I shook his hand in greeting and said, "No thank you, I ate before I came." He nodded. He held out his elbow to me, and I took it. He began to lead us in the middle of the lounge-like room and headed over to the book aisle. We walked in comfortable silence. Then, once we reached the back of the library, he pressed his finger on a wall. The wall began to sparkle with dust-like particles that began to float in the air shaped as a doorway. He pulled me along with him through the wall-like door. We were in a stairwell that went up. This stairwell was wide enough for 4 people to walk side by side. I turned to look back from where we came from, but it was just a regular brick wall. He led me up the stairs, and we turned and walked up more stairs, and to the top was an actual door. Once inside that door. We were in a small lounge-like room again. With couches on either side of the small room with a fireplace in the center of the wall at the end. I looked at King Finn questionably. He raised an eyebrow at me and smirked. What is this guy up to? He kept leading me toward the fireplace. This time, he pushed in one of the bricks on the top row of the fireplace. My eyes widened as I grasped both his forearms to steady myself as the floor below us shook. I gasped as the floor shook more violently and then groaned. Then, I bent my knees, because I almost fell and I clung to Finn's forearms tighter as he held my elbows. He threw his head back and laughed. Really? The floor, however, now that I am not freaking out, was rising like an elevator. I look up, and I see the same sparkling dustlike particles on the ceiling shaped like a huge square to match the floor we were standing on. I closed my eyes and yelped as we got close to the ceiling. My instincts kicked in, making me feel like we were about to be squished to the ceiling. Again, King Finn held me tightly, as his body shook with laughter. The floor stopped moving, and Finn pulled me with him off the floor. He was done laughing at my reaction. It was silly now to think of it. I looked back at the floor we were just standing on and I watched it go zooming back down fast. The floor with the sparkles sealed up and closed back up into a firm regular dark hardwood floor. Amusement was dancing in Finn's eyes as he stood there watching my shocked reaction. I narrowed my eyes at him, "That's not funny." I deadpanned. He threw his head back and laughed again. His laugh vibrated through the room. He shook his head and said, "I've never brought anyone here before, and it is very amusing to see one's reaction to my hidden magical space. My mate has no idea where this place is, and she's never set foot here. This place is mine. It's where my magic is more focused. My mate also has her room like this in the castle, hidden. A fae must have a room like this to freely practice their magic in private. My magic is stronger in here for me to wield. I am showing you this place because it is needed for me to be able to help you. I can sense something in you, something that I can not work with outside of this room. This room will strengthen my powers, hopefully over your own." I nodded, I guess that makes sense. I turned around to look at the room. It was empty except for a couch on my right and a bed at the end of the room. Just a regular bed with the sheets on and a pillow, no duvet, no blanket. Frowning, I pointed to the bed and looked at the king as he smiled at me. "Wh-" I tried to ask but was cut off by him. He laughed again and said, "Your reactions and where your mind wanders are very amusing to me. Lena, For me to fully help you, you need to sleep. The bed is for you. The couch is for me. I will sit on the couch and wait for you to be in a deep sleep. Then I will come sit at your bedside and enter your mind. I need to do this in my private magic room because you have grown in your power. That is why you also have to sleep. It will be safer for us both. You will hurt less. I will hurt less. It all depends on how long I can stay in your mind. Hopefully, we can get to the root of the problem before our magic clashes." I inhaled and ex-hated slowly. "So, how do I just fall asleep like that?" I ask him. He says, "First you would have to lay down on the bed Lena, and close your eyes." Again he gave me an amused look. I rolled my eyes at him. I knew that already, I wanted to know how I make myself sleep when I am not even tired. I huffed as I folded my arms on my chest. "I know that." He chucked, "Then why ask a silly question?" he asked me. I narrowed my eyes at him, and then he said, "Fine. That's enough teasing. I will give you a potion that will knock you out. You will be asleep for a couple of hours. I have a timer to help pull me out. Let's get started right away." He handed me a small blue liquid vile. "Drink, but I'd suggest you be on the bed when you do." He pointed to the bed and gestured with his other hand to the vile. I got into the bed, and it was very comfortable. I drank the stuff right away, and I looked at Finn as he watched from the couch. I was going to ask him something but then I began to droop. I quickly lay down as tiredness overtook me. My vision blurred quickly. I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. Whatever that thing was, it was strong. Knocked me right out.
