After accepting Alphonse's terms, Aurelia got her job back, well aware of the fact nothing is going to be the same anymore, but it was acceptable to stay there in his lethal presence.
She was getting ready to leave for work, she picked her badge and stopped a second, staring at it in dejection, a pinch breaking her heart.
Where has life left me? She thought sadly, biting the inside of her cheek, closing her eyes.
But before her mind could sink into darkness, a strong hand gripped her midsection, pressing her back to his muscular chest.
“Huh?” Gasping, her eyes fluttered open only to see Alphonse’s body pressed against her petite one firmly.
“A-Alphonse?” She called worriedly, shivering by the contact with his skin, tensed.
“Getting ready for work, hmm?” He murmured on her neck, moving his hand to take her badge from her fingers.
“Yes.” She nodded, lowering her eyes.
“Then why are you gloomy? Isn’t it what you wanted?” He asked softly.
Turning his grip rigid, lost in the sensation of his fingers clasped with her skin.
“Yeah.. Just.. everyone would hate me… for using your power to get my position back.” She whispered, making up a quick excuse, averting her eyes in perturbation.
“So what?” He asked, pulling away, turning her face adjacent to her, lifting her chin, boring his endearing orbs into hers.
“The world is full of corruption. Let people say what they want, you do your work. Okay?” He said tenderly, caressing her face gently, forcing out a feebly smile.
He wouldn’t say but he was proud of her for choosing a righteous path, for choosing justice.
“How ironic, I married the top tier criminal being a servant of justice.” She chuckled dryly, turning her head away.
“We all are bad to some extent. My capacity is simply higher than others.” He shrugged, bringing her closer.
“Why?” She asked sincerely, staring intensely into his eyes.
“Will it change how you feel about me?” He asked in a gentle whisper, setting her collar and tie, chest boasting in pride.
“No.” She whispered, shaking her head in denial.
“Then leave.” He chuckled dryly, sliding his two fingers inside the gap, noticing her tremble by his finger.
“Good luck and don't forget the price you have to pay.” He said coldly, securing the badge, careful not to prick her skin.
Her heart raced when his fingers touched her, creating a calm yet terrific moment, a silent storm to bury words and put up the facade of gentleness.
“There you go. All done, Captain.” He smiled earnestly, taking a step back, contemplating her body with an exquisite smile.
“Thanks.” She muttered, glancing at herself in the mirror, securing her gun.
“Let’s go.” He said, offering his hand.
She was hesitant at first but she had much worse to do soon.
“Hmm.” Humming, she clasped her hands with his, receiving unwanted sensations, glaring at him from behind.
He emitted his usual supreme aura, indicating he holds the authority and nothing could question his wife in his presence.
They sat in the car and left, he glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, suspicious of her activities, but had no choice.
Before she became devoid, he had to do something about it. He was going to give her the job back, but her offer invited his vicious intentions.
“We are here. Smile.” He said. She nodded, They both took a deep breath and got out.
Alphonse smiled beguiling at Aurelia, holding her waist when Elliot came out after hearing Aurelia is here but greeted the most undesirable sight.
She was pressed against the car, hands wrapped around her husband’s neck, kissing him passionately, closing her eyes to swallow the repugnance.
Alphonse smirked, knowing Elliot was burning to see them, heartbroken with the affirmation that she is truly happy with him.
That is another matter, the kiss was cold, held no emotion, it was filled with pain and force, it was so sorrowful that none of them wanted to continue.
Alphonse pulled away abruptly, feeling a sting in his heart but continued to smile. Elliot couldn’t bear it anymore and left with a throb in his chest.
“Good luck, Love.” He whispered from the bottom of his heart, kissing her cheek but his heart couldn’t bear it anymore.
She opened her mouth to say something but he wore his shades and left, smiling, leaving instantly, replaced by a scowl by both of them.
They both curled their hands in a fist, gritting their teeth and wiping their lips in disgust, ignoring the weird look people passing by gave them and left on their own way.
“Fuck.” He cursed, not liking the cold sensation of her lips, of lack of emotions and wiping his lips, growling under his breath as he left for his work.
“Asshole.” She growled, spitting on the ground, wiping her lips and walking forward.
“Madam?” Matteo saw her doing this and was taken aback.
“What was that?” He asked, tensed about her action.
“This is exactly what it is so don’t you dare to ask.” She growled, scoffing under breath and walking to her office without pay attention to people’s glare.
“So he forcefully married you?” He asked.
Deliberating loud enough for everyone to hear, a series of whispers came, followed by gasp of astonishment.
“Shut up. Mind your own business.” She growled, ordering not only him but everyone else before going back to her office.
“So he did, right?” He asked, emitting sympathy for him.
“Matteo. Not now…” She sighed, rubbing her temples, shaking her head, leaning on her table.
“But, I am worried for you. That man is a beast, who knows what he could do to you.” He tried to reason, tensed about her condition, but she couldn’t care less.
“And I have married that man. That fact is engraved and no one- I repeat, no one could change it.” She hissed, curling her hands in a fist.
Her body blazed in rage, in the powerlessness of having no strength to go against him, of what she did to gain her power again.
“What has he done to you in a month? Who can accept defeat so easily?” He argued, infuriated at her for not going against him.
“Listen, Matteo, don’t make this more difficult than it already is for me.” She breathed out, putting her hand in the air to dismiss.
“So you are truly accepting your defeat?” He asked in disbelief, trying to ignite her spirit but failed.
She could say million things, countless reasons to not go against him, she wanted to take her rage out but decided not to.
“That is for the best.” She shook her head, rubbing his forehead.
“And Sir Elliot? How are you planning to face him?” He asked desperately, using his words, anything to cheer her up.
“It would be better if he never crosses his path with mine again.” She sighed, walking forward to her seat.
Her eyes narrowed in woe, she couldn’t believe this seat she gained on her own is now granted on his mercy.
“Our journey together has ended. Consider it the end of us.” She whispered, it clenched her heart. But she had to accept it.
Wrapping her hands around her body, she closed her eyes for a second to regain her senses.
"So don't talk about it again. Mine and Elliot's relationship ended the day I married Alphonse." She said, her heart breaking speaking, but this is her fate from now on, she had no escape anymore.
Matteo opened his mouth to extend their argument further but her door swung open as Elliot came up with a scowl on his face. He was not ready to accept it, he could never believe this to be a reality.
“No, it’s f*****g not nor I will let it.” He growled, walking to her.
“Elliot-” She tried to call but he confronted her with his strict orbs, grabbing her arms harshly.
“You think I will let our tale vaguely? No, I will never.” He scowled, refusing to let her leave his grip, pressing their bodies together.
“No-” She tried to resist or push him away but before her mind could register.
He pressed her against the table and pressed his lips upon hers without a warning, leaving her flabbergasted on what to do.
Her heart rate thumped abnormally, eyes widened in appall, body immobilized on what to do, shivering when his lips made contact tenderly with hers, forgetting everything else but the question remained-
Whether should she kiss him back or push him away?
