Her mind shut down for a second when he kissed her, holding her against the table, moving his lip in accordance with hers. Her breath halted for a mere second, but resisting the urge boiling in her body, she pushed him away with all her might. “What the hell do you think you are doing?!” She yelled, holding the table as support, losing her mind by his action. “Are you out of your mind?! Can’t you see I am married?!” She shouted, hitting his head, pushing him back. Shoving her wedding ring in his face so he could carve this fact that she belongs to someone else in his mind and never repeat it. “I don’t consider it a wedding.” He growled, glaring at her to drop this act but she didn’t. Her body trembled by the sensation he left on her lips but mostly, it horrified her, blinding her mind. “You don’t know what you are doing, you have lost your mind.” She scoffed, folding her arms, rolling her eyes off. “I know exactly what I am doing.” He growled, slamming his hand on either side of her. His hunting eyes traveled to Matteo, who was staggered by the scene he witnessed. Major Elliot kissed the wife of Alphonse Jude. The consequences of it would be horrifying if anyone came to know. “Leave, Matteo.” He growled, motioning to him to leave. “Y-Yes.” He stuttered, walking out instantly, closing the door, leaving them alone. “What the hell do you think you just did!?” She growled, hitting his chest, glaring at him. “How could you?” She hissed, infuriated at his action. The thought of imagining Alphonse’s reaction upon knowing petrified her. Nothing else mattered after it. Nothing. “I am doing what I should have.” He growled, moving back. Her heart began to thump abnormally, holding the hem of her dress, she was tensed to be alone with him. But he walked to the door, she prayed for him to leave but he locked it, augmenting her strain by his action. “Why are you locking the door?” She asked in a shaky voice, walking towards him. A shiver went down her spine but upholding her frontage, she hissed as well. “Leave, Elliot or else I will tell Alphonse.” She threatened, hoping he would listen but to no avail. “Do it. In fact, say this as well.” He hissed back, pushing her against the table again, hands on her either side, staring intensely into her eyes. “When he kissed you, you wiped your lips in disgust but when I did, you didn’t.” He whispered with a victorious smile. She realized she didn’t, her heart skipped a beat and she instinctively brought her hand to wipe her lips to remove his sensation imprinted but he grabbed her wrist. “Ah, there is no point in doing this now.” He smirked, affixing his eyes on her lips again which startled her. “What do you want? I am here to work, nothing more, nothing less.” She said angrily, yanking her wrist back. “I have no time to waste on you or anyone so leave.” She no longer had strength to fight him, she was exhausted. “This has become much more than mere work, Aurelia.” He said direly, face lethally closer to hers, refusing to break their contact which only increased her worry. “Elliot, please. Don’t bring me more troubles. I can’t deal with them anymore.” She whispered. Narrowing her eyes in dejection while putting her hand in between to maintain some distance. “Why wouldn’t I? Look at what you've done to yourself.” He whispered, noticing how she shivered at his voice in her ear. “Leave.” She tried to say firmly, trying to push him away but he pressed himself against her. “Stop it, Elliot. What are you doing?” She said, rage dripping from her words but failed. “I will tell Alphonse if you don't stop.” She warned him. Praying to maintain a fair distance from him, trying to push him but he restricted her movement. “You will regret it if he came to know.” She growled, reminding him about the dire outcomes he might face. “Don’t you dare to resist me.” He growled, forcing her to look into his eyes. “I know you don’t want to.” He whispered huskily, one hand almost touching her side as his other hand held her chin. “Don’t you dare to harass me at work.” She spat rudely, grabbing his collar with a glare to stop this obstinacy. “I am harassing you? Hah, what a joke.” He laughed mockingly, aware of the state she tried to conceal. “You are the one who is endangered.” His tone changed into a strict one, breathless. “Elle told me everything. I know what that motherfucker has done to you and I won’t leave you alone.” He scowled, leaving her astounded. Her eyes widened in disbelief, her mouth gaped with a clenched heart. She stopped endeavoring for a second and lowering her gaze sorrowfully. “If you know then please go away. Don’t make this hard for me.” She whispered in a weak tone, accepting her imprisonment in his domain. She was afraid to hold anyone’s hand at this point. “Are you giving up so early? Are you going to let it slide that he ravaged our bond?” He asked in disbelief, ire filling his voice with an ache. “He only severed the bond, it’s much better than losing anyone I love.” She replied coldly, impotent to meet his hopeless eyes. “What has he done to you, Aurelia?” He breathed out, checking her form from top to bottom in astonishment. “Are you even Aurelia? How come you are so frightened to go against him?” He asked, holding her arms, unable to comprehend it’s the Aurelia he once knew. “You have no idea what he can do, Elliot.” Her voice broke, turning her head away in lamentation. “When he could thrash our wedding in a second, shoot my best friend, force me, t****l me, my parents, he could do anything…” She confessed, closing her eyes for a sharp inhale before staring dead into his eyes. “He is much more powerful than any of us could perceive.” She whispered the harsh reality none of them could alter. After living with him, she knows what he is capable of, she can no longer underestimate him. “I am the Major. You are a Captain.” He replied sternly, reminding them of this high position but to no avail. “And he is Alphonse Jude, the Ace of the underworld.” She responded in the same tone, reminding him about Alphonse's superiority. “We. Mean. Nothing.” She enunciated, removing his hand on her arm and leaned back on the table. “I won’t let this end here, Aurelia. You love me, I love you. I can’t watch you be with him.” He pleaded, losing his posture, willing to do anything to have her. She closed her eyes, hugging her sides to disregard his words and let him down. “God knows what he has done to you… where.. He touched you..” He muttered, curling his hands to be so powerless. “He hadn’t.. He didn’t do anything.” She lied, biting her bottom lips, remembering his touch, how he held her, draining her energy. “Don’t lie, it’s impossible,” He scoffed. She lowered her head in woe, holding herself tightly, but soon he sighed, holding his forehead. “Look, Love, accept it. You still love me, we can fix everything.” He said tenderly, coming closer. “We can’t.” She shook her head in denial. “Trust me, Love. We can, Please. You are very important to me, I can’t lose you.” He whispered, cupping her cheek, staring intently into her eyes to make her realize who they were. “That is exactly why we can’t.” She whispered back, pulling his shirt. She felt defeated, unable to pursue what her lips truly wanted to speak. “What?” He arched a brow, not apprehending her context. “I can’t lose you, Elliot.” She whispered, losing her strength along with a pain filling her chest. “Did he threaten you?” He asked seriously, taken aback for a second. Her lips parted to speak but no words came out, there was no justification for his warning. “So he did…” He growled, turning his head away, cursing him in his mind, pressing his teeth together. “That is why you said those words too and you are agreeing to be with that guy? Him, who deserves the worst punishment?” He asked, fury creeping on his face, he resented the idea of what he had done to her. “Elliot, please-” She tried to request him to stop and leave her in her life but he cut her off. “Aurelia, Please.” He called her desperately, breathlessly, hoping his emotions could reach her heart. “I can’t bear you like this, it’s going to be fine. I am with you, he can’t hurt you.” His voice broke, requesting her to listen to him and end Alphonse’s ordeal forever. “Please, trust me, I want to help you, so we can be together once again.” He whispered, rubbing circles with his thumb, hoping to convince her to listen. “But.. if he came to know..” She asked, worried about Alphonse's reaction upon knowing which will be fatal for both of them. “Shh. Trust me, He won’t. I won’t let it. Believe in me.” He whispered, reassuring her but her mind was lost in the depths of the abyss, unable to think properly. “I am scared, Elliot.” She confessed, losing the strength in her voice. “Don’t be. I am with you, trust my words. Okay?” He spoke smoothly, assuring her to remove the fright etched in her heart. “Mhm..” She nodded, sniffling. She was skeptical of his idea but she had no better options other than to place faith in his words. “Do exactly what I say, we will prevail this. We will not only end his reign but win our love too.” He said strongly, trying to help her to regain her senses and believe in him. “I don’t think I can do it anymore.” She shook her head, trying to turn her head away, but he didn’t let her. “Hey, hey, don’t say this. Stay strong. You have me, nothing could hurt you.” He murmured, kissing her forehead. Her heart skipped a beat, unable to react, all that escaped her lips was, “Promise?” She asked desperately. “I promise.” He smiled, nodding and was about to pull her in his embrace, but she moved back, unsettled to share any intimacy with anyone, she couldn't touch anyone. It reminds her of how Alphonse might react to knowing and it halts her mind and actions. “Please. Don't touch me for now.” She whispered, moving back, hugging herself again. Disappointment flashed in his eyes but was soon replaced by a soft smile, giving her shoulder a pat, nodding in understanding. "What had he done to you?" He asked sadly, but she kept looking away. "Just don't. I can't deal with it, please." She breathed out, not meeting his gaze. "Okay, Okay. Whatever you say but know..." He smiled sincerely, coming closer. “I love you so much.” He whispered, kissing the back of her palm. She was unsure of his idea of them meeting in the shadows, but blinded by her desires and reprieve, she nodded, whispering back. “Me too.”
