“I am a f*****g ruthless beast who is crazy about you.”
He growled, holding her wrists tightly, expressing the state which she left him in where he cannot focus on his own life, labeling his breath as hers but she cannot see it.
"I am not me anymore, I am you, That is all that matters in my life anymore." He confessed, hoping the powerlessness in his words would reach her heart, but to no avail.
Their hurried and swift breaths synchronized with an intense connection, but both of them burned in their own anguish.
“Please don’t fall lower in my eyes than you already have.” She almost pleaded, pressing her palm over his chest, increasing his heartbeats.
"You have already strayed your path by this obstinacy. Look where your dark desires left you, Alphonse." She whispered, her heart breaking to witness this wild yearning state of his but-
He found his shelter in her one touch, his final destination, but she was unable to accept it.
“Then so be it. I have accepted this darkness. My heart is consumed by hatred, anger and cruelty, Aurelia.” He continued sadly, moving his fingers to intertwine them with hers.
“And me? Where am I? How did I manage to get this desolated place?” She asked, closing the gap between them.
He died for seconds to cease existing in her touch, in her presence but each passing second was drifting them apart- breaking the bond which never existed.
"You are the only reason why I am here, why I still consider myself a human and not a piece of flesh breathing." He told her huskily with a hint of unintentional temptation, leaving her baffled.
“You are the reason I am standing here, the reason why I exist, why I live. You are my sanctuary.” He spoke with in-depth emotions, leaving no space for insincerity in his words.
“What?” She blinked, it was difficult for her to cope with her position in his heart.
She never perceived he would hold such intense feelings for her.
“You are my only emotions, it’s for you whom I live for and I swear, I don’t want your heart to break- especially by me.” He continued, sorrow lacing his voice.
He expressed his gloom, culpable for her raze but dying to annihilate this fact.
“But you did… you broke it. In fact, you hurt me the most. Why did you do this to me?” She whispered, narrowing her eyes in woe, detesting their condition.
“I know and I cannot turn back time, I cannot fix anything-” He began to say out of extreme guilt but she pressed her palm further.
“You can, just let me go, return-” She tried to speak expectantly but his grip tightened.
“Aurelia, please!” he hissed, raising his voice, shutting his eyes for a second to control his rage.
She gasped, taking a step back when he inhaled sharply, continuing in a broken resonance.
“Please don’t say what I am unable to bear, what I cannot imagine.”
Her eyes widened in astonishment for a bare heartbeat, his unforeseen state of anguish pricked her heart.
"Don't say what breaks my tranquility, what steals my reason to exist." He almost pleaded, losing his composure in the ache but that is when she understood.
She was not the only person falling apart, he was too.
“Why are you hurting both of us in this relationship?” She asked, considering this bond useless when none of them desire it.
“I can’t let you go, I can’t lose you. You mean my life to me. If I take it out, what will happen to me then?” He asked, taking a step closer, breath unstable, mind ravaged.
“But, what’s the point of this remorse now? Nothing could change the path we have chosen.” She asked, holding a hint of fury, hating his stubbornness.
“I know, tears, regrets, emotions. Nothing could alter this suffering.” He nodded in agreement, not denying it.
“All my presence is going to bring you is nothing but misery.”
It wrecked his heart to speak it but for the sake of finding a shore, he did.
“When you then- Leave it. You already said it.” She scoffed, folding her arms at her chest, turning her head away.
She was disappointed, she knew he was utterly possessive of her, he wouldn’t bear separation from her.
“Can’t you… give me a chance? To prove myself worthy of you?” He asked hopefully, willing to reach the depths of hell for her.
“If I ask you to surrender yourself to the cops- You know what? Let’s not go that far.” She paused, putting her hand in the middle, giving the simplest job.
The reason why she left his streets.
“Leave this life for me. Can you do it?” She asked, demanding it.
“I can’t. I am in his debt. I have to live and die here.” He confessed, looking down when she asked him the impossible.
“Whose debt? Who are you talking about?” She asked, bewildered, coming closer.
“I have to stay here forever, I can’t leave it.” He whispered, biting his cheek to feel so powerless, having one chance but he cannot grasp it.
“Tell me who you are talking about.” She asked. Her mind shifted to his talk instantly.
Abruptly, none of it matters to her anymore.
“But, I can surrender myself for your sake.” He said expectantly, prepared to do it for her recognition, but she lost her ability to perceive.
“No, No. You first tell me. Who is that mothefucker who led you on this life?” She growled, shaking her head. Her breathed became weighed, controlling her need to cry.
“Knowing his name cannot change anything. It’s no use.” He said softly. He was about to hold her shoulder but she slapped his hand away.
“Why!?” She shouted, coming closer.
“I want to know who stole my Alphonse from me!” She yelled. He was taken aback by the tears she shed for him.
She.. cried for.. Me? He thought, considering it a deception of his eyes.
“Who stole your life!? Who was it!?” She asked, requesting him to tell her about this man but his name is nothing but a call to destruction.
“Alphonse. Don’t be silent.” She pleaded, holding his hands.
She cannot deny the feelings she buried in her heart, he is her Alphonse after all. She wants to know who took him away.
“Answer… Please.” She almost cried, shaking him to speak up but his voice cannot escape his lips.
He was stuck on the moment when she cried for him which became the gain of his life.
“The fact I will remain in this life till the end of my breath is etched on skylines.” He told her tenderly, reminding her it’s not useful to talk about a point you cannot undo. He cannot go back, he has chosen the path of devastation himself.
“What did you trade? At least tell me this.” She asked, bringing his hand close to her face.
He cannot believe her desperation, her dolor for his pain, she was heartbroken for him, for his misery, dying to know what did this.
“What did you provide that person?” She asked, sniffling, trying not to cry.
He gulped, knowing his words would augment her ravage but he had to tell, locking their eyes in the darkness, he whispered.
“My soul.”
