The next day, Aurelia woke up in her lavishing room when the curtains were opened and sunlight penetrated. “Please wake up, Madam, Sir is waiting for you.” A voice called but groaning she felt the soft mattress and remembered where she is right now. “What?” Gasping, taking shallow and hurried breaths, putting her hand on her chest with an unwanted intoxication affecting her mind drastically. “Oh my God.” She mumbled, rubbing her eyes, not believing what happened last night was truly a miracle and not a dream. “What is it, Madam?” Linda asked, tilting her head in confusion by her bewilderment. “I thought it was a dream but it’s true.” She breathed out, putting her hand on her chest, pressing her teeth together to stay composed. “Your presence here is a blessing.” She smiled, setting the curtains. “What?” She asked, scared to think what her mere presence did to be known as a blessing. Coming closer, she gave her some clothes, “We received a bonus.” “And sorry, we don’t receive female visitors so you have to wear Sir’s clothes.” She apologized sweetly, moving back. “Oh.” She hummed, touching his shirt and realizing how soft it’s fabric was. The branded casual shirt which cost more than her salary. “Please come. Sir is waiting for you in the dining hall.” She bowed before walking out and leaving her alone to freshen. “So it is a reality after all…” She whispered to herself, closing her eyes, taking a deep breath. Mentally preparing herself for a life here, for unavoidable upcoming moments. “Don’t sway in the money, Aurelia.” Scolding herself, she entered the bathroom and saw her bathroom was bigger than her room used to be. “Okay, maybe just a little.” She sighed, indulging the luxury provided to her. Who knows when she will get a chance to live in a Mansion comparable to be known as a castle again? Shaking her head, she walked out after wearing his loose clothes, making herself look presentable enough and came. Alphonse was impatiently waiting for Aurelia and when his eyes fell upon her, it evoked a gaze of mesmerization but he suppressed his smile. “So pretty…” He whispered under his breath, scanning her in his green shirt, reaching her thighs and his shorts reaching her knees. “Hey. Morning.” She smiled feebly, waving at him, coming closer. “Hey. Sorry you had to wear my clothes.” His low, husky with a gist of temptation, affixing his eyes on her deeply. “No, No, it’s okay.” She shook her head, not wanting to sound ungrateful. “They suit you a lot.” He whispered, taking a step closer, eyes traveling down but with an audible cease of breaths, she moved back. “T-Thanks.” Stammering, she looked away timorously, unsure how to react properly. Smirking at her scarlet shade and reaction, he led her to the dining room, taking a seat as the breakfast was served. She didn’t know how to eat the dish she didn’t know about but followed Alphonse. “So, how have you been and this? How did you end up here? Did a rich family adopt you?” She asked nonchalantly, taking a bite of her food. She was trying to have a conversation and get to know him better. “Consider something like this.” He replied in the same tone, not thinking about it. “You sure are lucky.” She mumbled, resting her elbow on the table, putting her chin under palm. “Yeah, yeah.” He hummed, not lifting his head, using his phone again, checking some reports. “Stop using your phone, Alphonse. Talk to me.” She whined, frowning, disliking his action. Every servant present was staggered by her statement. She is telling him what to do. Nobody does that. “Hmm?” Humming, he glanced at her with a stern gaze, staring at her but puffing, she motioned to him to put the phone down. Sighing, he followed, surprising everyone even more. “What about you?” He asked, taking a bite. Eyes chained to hers, his heart beaming in glee to know she is here and will now on. “Nothing much, barely holding expenses after leaving home.” She shrugged. “What happened to your parents?” He asked casually. “They.. died in a car accident.” She whispered, not wanting to talk about it. “I am sorry to hear it.” He whispered back, slowly moving his hand over hers. “But, it’s going to be alright. I am here for you and always will be from now on.” He whispered again, smiling while giving her hand an assuring squeeze. “Thanks, Alphonse.” She smiled back, tensed under his touch but bore with it. “No need to mention, I am glad I could be with you.” He said sincerely, finishing his food and getting up to leave. “I have to leave for work, enjoy yourself.” Giving her head a tap as he usually does back at the Orphanage, he walked. “When will you be back?” She asked, turning her head to him. “I don’t have a fixed time but I will try to be early.” He replied without looking back at her. “I will wait for you. Take care. Bye.” She said sweetly and he left her all alone in the sumptuous Mansion to do as she pleases. “Bye.” She roamed around, having nothing to do, humming to herself. “How long have you been working here, Linda?” She asked, exploring the place. “Ever since childhood. My family couldn’t pay our debts to Sir so we offered our services.” She replied quietly, not letting her head from the ground. “I see.” Trailing off, she didn’t know what to do but soon a few guys came bringing all kinds of attractive dresses for her. She was startled by the deluxe life granted to her abruptly or how to react so she continued to pass time until Alphonse returned in the evening. When he came, she rushed to his side. “Welcome home.” She grinned, welcoming him which converted his dominantly strict features into confusion. “What?” She asked, not apprehending his expression. “Hearing home sounds weird.” He shook his head, walking to his room. “Why?” She asked cutely. “I never considered this place my home.” He muttered as the thought to call it home invoked repugnance. “Why? People die to live in such an elegant place and you are saying this after having every luxury under your feet.” She scolded him. Not favoring his demeanor of neglecting this resplendence one dies to have. “I don’t just feel like it.” He mumbled, stopping outside his room. “Did your position make you arrogant? How could you say this?” She asked, almost angrily but curling his hands in a fist, he breathed out loudly. She was testing his non-existent patience by her persistence. “Auro- Aurelia.” He began to say in a low voice, approaching her slowly. Swallowed, she moved back but unfortunately behind her was the wall. “A-Alphonse?” She called hestitanly, praying she might not infuriate him by her nagging. s**t, s**t. “I don’t know about arrogance.” Place his one hand one the wall and lifting her chin with the other one, he stared intently into her ice blue eyes, whispering huskily, breathlessly. “But, It surely made me a beast.” “How? Why?” She forced the lump in the throat, trying to part her eyes from his stern ones but he refrained her. Noticing her startle, he sighed and moved back thankfully. She put her hand on her chest, taking a long breath as he said nonchalantly. “Circumstances.” “But-” She tried to ask but he didn’t want to argue nor say something which could petrify her. “How was your day?” He asked, trying to change the topic to shift his mood. “Mine? Great? Your home is so big, I couldn’t explore it one day.” She breathed out, giggling to herself, living a life of dreams. “Freshen up, I was waiting for you so we could have dinner together.” She said happily, shining with blithe which took him by astonishment. “You were?” He asked, knitting his brows. “Yes, now freshen up, there is a lot to catch up.” She nodded vigorously, gesturing to him to go. Seeing her content, put his heart at ease. To think her being here is not a deception in my eyes but an actuality. He thought. He nodded, going back to his room with an invisible smile. “Yes, Ma’am.”
