But, this moment led Aurelia back to childhood where the exact scene happened, inducing an unfathomable pain on her chest. “You look like a ghost!” A group of boys shouted at her. They were disgusted at her eyes, they hated it. “I am not!” She shouted with tears down her face, bullying for the way she looks. “Yes, you are!” They yelled, startling her. Gasping, she jumped back to control her fright but failed miserably. “Alphonse!” She yelled, calling Alphonse to save her. Scoffing, they opened their water bottle and threw water at her. She gasped, shutting her eyes but the water never reached her. Looking up she saw Alphonse standing in front of her, willing to protect her at all cost. “Alphonse!” Grinning, she hugged him from behind instantly, not wanting to let him go ever again. “Don’t you dare to come close to her again!” Alphosne growled at him. “Oh s**t, Alphonse. Run!” The boys got frightened and ran away. He sighed deeply before turning back to Aurelia, who was crying while hugging him. “Are you okay, Aurora?” He asked affectionately, turning to her, cupping her cheeks. “Are you okay? They spill water all over you.” She sniffed, wiping her tears and then the water over his face with her sleeves. “I am fine.” He smiled, ruffling her hair, moving her hand down and wiping the water. “Do you also think my eyes are ghost-like?” She asked innocently, lowering her gaze sadly. “Of course not. You have the most beautiful eyes in the world.” He chuckled, lifting her chin, showing her a bewitching smile to assure her. “You think so?” She asked, linking their gazes together, holding a soft connection, a harmony existing only for them. He grinned, the most beautiful smile she could ever see, the sight she could never forget even if she wanted to. That was another matter the malice had eaten the smile she fell for. “Of course because no matter where you will go, I will always recognize you by them.” *** Coming back from the unwanted memory, her heart skipped a beat, standing where she last remembered. Protecting her but this time, his aura did nothing but to terrorize her in forcasting his rage for her action. Inhaling deeply, his infuriated eyes slowly met Nancy who trembled and had tears in her eyes by his expression. “What the hell do you think you are doing?” He growled in a low, dangerous tone. Aurelia’s heart skipped a beat, unable to see his expressions, which made her think he was talking about her, evoking a dreadful shiver. “Al-” Aurelia tried to speak but he continued, taking a step forward, asserting his dominance. “How dare you, Nancy?” He growled, slapping the glass from her hand, breaking it into many pieces as a dead silence fell upon the room. “S-She started it, A-Alphonse. I-I swear, she said those things.” She sniffed, trying not to cry, barely making her words before his fury. “Yeah, I heard it too. She said bad things to her.” Julius came as well to defend his sister, glaring at Aurelia who initiated this mess. The scowl was plastered on his face. Aurelia shifted and glanced at Alphonse and found her Alphonse, who wouldn’t dare to question her. Even if it was her fault. She remembered her exceptional position in his heart. “So what if I did?” Aurelia asked with a victorious smirk. Standing beside Alphonse and doing what she should to earn his cognition for further leniency. She brought her hand closer, taking out his handkerchief from the front pocket and wiping it, “Are you okay?” She asked softly. Alphonse’s gaze softened instantly, turning his head to her with an immeasurable felicity and heartbeats brimming in his chest, utterly spellbound by her action. “Are you okay?” He asked in the same tone as everyone was flabbergasted to hear tenderness and endearment for the first time. Smiling faintly, she nodded, wiping the wine she spilled over his face before turning back to Nancy with a threatening glare, making her gasp. “And you-” Alphonse scowled, taking a step forward. “What is happening?” Alphonse’s client, Nancy’s father, arrived, confused at the commotion. “D-Daddy. Alphonse's wife was degrading me.” Nancy cried, hugging her Father instantly, making crying faces. “So what? Can’t you handle a few words?” Aurelia scoffed, putting the wet handkerchief away. “How further do you want to display your vulnerability?” She smirked, holding her head high knowing no one could question her. “Alphonse, you are well aware of the fact who is at fault yet saying this to my sister?” Julius hissed, curling his hand in a fist, instantly resenting her for doing this. “Scold your wife, teach her some manners first.” Julius growled, taking a step closer but Alphonse moved forth, motioning to him to stop. “Do you know who you are talking about?” Alphonse’s tone was extremely lethal, sealing their voices, warning them before glancing around the room. Resting his hand in his pocket, he held a dominant face and enunciated strictly, “If anyone said a word against my wife, I will ensure you all regret it.” All of them were stunned, realizing that holding animosity with Alphonse will surely result in death and chose to look down, agreeing quietly. “Apologize.” Alphonse ordered, gesturing to Nancy to do it. Her jaw dropped, shaking her head, refusing to do it . “What? Why would she?” Her Father argued, at this point, Aurelia was the most detestable person in the hall. “Tell her to apologize now, Dan, or else the deal is off.” Alphonse threatened in an emotionless tone, frightening Nancy by his one look. “What?” He gasped in disbelief, of how far she was going for one woman. “Do it. Now.” Alphonse ordered. Aurelia couldn’t help but to stare at Alphonse in disbelief of how blindly he was doing this for her which pricked a needle in her heart. “Baby. Do it. For your papa, please.” Dan said, kissing her hand, pleading with his daughter. “But, Why, Daddy!?” She yelled, yanking her hand away, rolling her eyes off. “Please, love. For me, just say sorry.” Dan smiled, patting her shoulder to do it. “Do it or else-” Alphosne growled but lost her breath, a tear rolled down her cheek. “Stop intimidating her, Alphonse.” Julius came, protecting his sister from his rage. Alphonse shows no expression, refusing to settle down for less. Nancy bit her lips, wiping her tears, walking to Aurelia and speaking in a crying tone. “Sorry…” Aurelia didn’t expect things to go that far, especially involving Alphonse in this chaos but his actions were beyond her expectations. “You will regret it-” Alphonse was about to warn them, but she held his arm with both of her hands. “Alphonse.” She called in a shaky voice, startled by his supremacy and special treatment for her. “Hmm?” He hummed, halting instantly, turning to her. “Can we go home?” She asked in a whisper-like tone, giving his arm a tight squeeze, fading his fury instantly but he cannot leave without a taunt. “And yeah, Learn how to control your brat.” He mocked before holding her hands, rolling his eyes off at everyone, taking her. “Let’s go, Aurelia. My work is done.” His voice came as a gentle breeze which made her convulse. Looking up, she saw his broad chest, taking her with him with an authoritative aura around him, leaving everyone defeated as they left.
