Chapter # 33

Aurelia made a repugnant face, thinking about doing something to stop her but to no avail. “Good luck.” Louis chuckled but she glared at him to shut up. But, taking a deep breath, she regained her posture and pretended not to see her. “Louis.” She asked, a vile smirk reaching her lips, finishing her third drink in one go. “Yes, Madam?” He asked, worried about her expression and intentions. “How bad would it be if I create a scene here?” She asked, mischief reaching her eyes, not bothering about anything by her blurry senses. “Nothing. No one would dare to question.” He shrugged, truly wanting to see what she could do. He was excited to see what she was going to do to exasperate Nancy. “Oh, right. How long Alphonse might take?” She asked, turning to the stair, hoping he would return soon but to no avail. “Ten to fifteen minutes. He wouldn’t waste time.” He replied casually. “I think I have found my entertainment.” A quiet laugh escaped her lips, suppressing it in her vocal cords before mentally preparing herself to greet her. “Oh, Hey. You’re Aurelia, right?” Nancy asked, faking surprise and felicity. “Who are you?” Aurelia asked coldly, turning to her, scanning her body top to bottom with a dry look which burned her. “I am Nancy, we have met before.” She said, trying to maintain her calm and not say something regrettable for now. “I don’t remember you at all. But then again, I tend to forget the irrelevant stuff.” Aurelia hummed, rolling her eyes off. Louis’ eyes widened, he knew a blast was going to occur here but why would he stop it? “Irrelevant? I think Alphonse didn't tell you who I am.” Nancy smirked back, holding her head high in pride, thinking she didn't know. “Yeah, his ex or whatever. Who cares?” Aurelia replied in a dominant tone, taking a step closer but it wiped her smug look. “You are a part that doesn’t matter.” Aurelia whispered, poking her shoulder to move her out of the way to get herself another drink. “You are saying this, on my face, in my place.” She gasped, glaring at her, outraged at her nonchalance and no attention towards her. “What an enormous house, Nancy. I wonder why your heart is on the contrary?” She asked, giggling, becoming drunk at this point. “Why is it so tiny? Open up, girl and learn how to embrace words.” She laughed a little patting it but she held her wrist, slapping it away. “Why would I bother for a nobody like you.” Nancy scoffed, using her obvious taunt to remind her of her origin. “Then throw me out. Do it and I will be more than glad to see you on the street the very next second.” Aurelia challenged with a wicked grin. Nancy was losing not only this argument but her patience too. She wanted to mock her, degrade her and not hear snickers herself. “Don’t overuse the Alphonse’s author-” She was about to scowl but Aurelia took a step closer, hovering over her. “I am not, I am still a Police Captain and you can get a long imprisonment for it. You know it?” She said strictly, staring dead into her eyes which startled her for a second. “I can lock you up, overuse my authority to raze you.” She whispered, threatening her which scared her for a second. She never thought Aurelia would do this to her, how easily she made her feel inferior. Louis knew they were gaining attention at this point and Nancy was about to do something drastic. “Oh, s**t, shit.” Louis whispered and texted Alphonse to finish his work quickly and come before matter slipped out of hands. “Oh, how will you know? You need a brain for it or at least education to know basic rules.” Aurelia jeered at her. Moving back, everyone gasped at her comment and it was becoming intense. “You bitch.” Nancy hissed, a louder gasp came at her display of fury. The princess of her home was not used to inferiority. “Stop them.” Nancy’s brother, Julius growled at Louis. “She is my Madam, how can I? You go.” Louis smirked, folding his arm, titling his head for him to go and stop his sister. “And a foul tongue. How trivial. I wonder how everyone is bearing a brat like you.” Aurelia sighed, shaking her head, losing her interest in this conversation. “Stop.” Nancy breathed out, looking around to do something and stop her. “You know what are you? A tissue that Alphonse threw after using.” Aurelia scoffed, going far with her harshly true comments. “A nobody who hides under the stack of money.” She smirked, hitting where it hurts the most, shattering her forbearance. “Enough!” She shouted, taking out her anger in her voice. She was bearing this all because she was Alphonse’s wife but not anymore. “Hmph. Useless. Let’s go, Louis.” Aurelia mumbled, shaking her head in disappointment. Walking back, unable to extend this conversation for even ten minutes because Nancy couldn’t find any comebacks. “That was brutal, Madam. You were bullying her.” Louis breathed out, putting his hand on his hand, not believing it ended silent. “So what? I bet she does the same to everyone lower than her. She intended to bully me, why did it hurt when I did it?” Aurelia asked, making a valid point. She did want to humiliate her before everyone but when Aurelia did it, it broke her fragile ego. “But, it was fun.” Aurelia asked, giggling to herself realizing she shouldn’t drink further. Walking away until Nancy, who felt defeated, left enraged, picked the nearest glass of wine and ran to her. She was about to walk away with Louis but she grabbed her shoulder roughly. “You-” Growling she threw her drink at her. “What the-” Aurelia shut her eyes for a second, backing away instantly but the liquid never reached her skin. Opening her eyes in perplexity, she looked up and was greeted by an undesirable familiar scent towering over her. “f**k…” Her body lost its strength in pertification of his reaction when she saw none other than Alphonse in front of her with wine spilled all over his face, calling him fretfully, “Alphonse?”
