Chapter # 32

Aurelia closed her eyes on their way, not bothering to look around with a frown plastered on her lip ignorant of the pair of eyes affixed on her form, staring into them with mesmerization. She was going to be alone; she didn’t pay heed to it. Soon, they reached their place and Alphonse called. “We are here.” He said, opening his door before glancing at her for a second, poking her shoulder with one finger to wake her hibernated posture. “So what? You are going to leave me anyway.” She muttered, grabbing her bag before opening her eyes slowly. “Stop whining.” He sighed, getting out, knowing he had to bear with her words. “Hmph.” Scoffing, she got out as well. He held her hands, she tried to rip them but he held them tightly to not let go. She frowned but he maintained his facade of dominance. When they walked inside with an aura superior to anyone present which, everyone gaped to find Alphonse with his wife and Aurelia didn’t pay attention. Their astonishment was soon ruined when Aurelia gasped by the lavishing place they entered, that is the most interesting part she was facing. “Woah. What is this place? A château?” She asked, eyes surveying the place. Pulling his hand with a dropped jaw, scanning the place in admiration of how exquisite it looks. “So.. amazing.” She breathed out. People passing by glanced at them but ignoring them, Alphonse solely focused on his wife who was lost in the opulence of this place, scanning it. “Do you like it?” He asked gallantly in a whisper, moving closer to her ear, indulging in her innocent reactions. “Who wouldn’t? Just when I thought nothing could be more lavishing than your home, I saw this.” She breathed out, not believing she had taken a step in a place like this. “Do you want one?” He asked teasingly, a smirk widened when his heart raced. “Hmm?” He was standing behind her, so close to her, inhaling her addictive scent when she looked with a grin. “Will you give me one?” She joked, chuckling at her words, not noticing their closeness which made his heart thump, dangerously near her. “Is it a château?” She asked, walking inside, seeing the deluxe lifestyle she never saw before. “Yes.” He nodded, uncaring about the gossip going of how ‘inelegant’ she was behaving but he was drowned in the shine of her rare eyes. “So dreamy.” She breathed out, noticing from the wallpaper to the furniture worth more than she could comprehend. “Wow, what a place. Life is much easier when you have money, you don’t have to worry about anything.” She said, turning her face to him. But, all his possession into her glee faded by her words because he held the contrary perspective. “Ask me.” He mumbled, turning his gaze away, smirk leaving his lips as hurriedly it came. “Ask you what? I don’t mind crying in a Ferrari.” She shrugged, chuckling to herself. “You have money, that is why you are saying this. Money is the most important aspect of life.” She said sternly, standing firm on her words. He espied her for a second before they entered the main hall. “Hmm.” He hummed, not extending their conversation, going along. “You stay here. I will be back.” He said, leaving her hand- even if it was unfavored on his side. “What am I supposed to do?” She frowned, folding her arms at her chest. She loved observing this place but it was no fun alone, she would be an outcast. “Do anything you want. And yeah, they all know you are a cop so they resent you.” He shrugged, walking away with one hand in his pocket. “What the-” She gasped and was about to curse but he smirked, pissing her off. “Good luck.” He smirked before walking and everyone’s eyes were affixed on the glamorous couple. “Asshole.” She muttered, but called Louis, who was going after Alphonse. “Hey, Louis.” She snapped, calling him, He asked, turning to her politely, “Yes, Madam?” “You are not going with him. You go alone. You will stay with me.” She demanded, stopping Alphonse in his tracks as well. “Boss?” Louis asked hesitantly, unsure of what to do with Aurelia. “I am ordering you.” Aurelia demanded strictly, motioning to him to come and stand beside her. Louis stared at Alphonse for a response but he sighed, not arguing with her about it. “Just stay.” Alphonse said, shaking his head. “Yes, Boss.” He nodded slowly, still trying to comprehend what to do as Alphonse left with his other men, leaving two of them alone. Louis stood behind Aurelia, unsure of what to speak or how to accompany her. “Leaving me here all alone. What does he expect me to do?” She asked furiously, getting both of them a drink before standing away from people. “Gosh, why are they staring at me?” She asked, making a sour face, resenting the judgemental looks she was receiving. “First, you are a cop. Second, you are a commoner who is now the Boss' wife.” Louis told her calmly, taking a sip of his drink. “How gauche.” She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Then why did I dress up? To whom should I show?” She asked herself before turning to Louis with an assertive face. “You are going to give me company.” She ordered, finishing her drink and putting the glass. “But, what should we do?” He shrugged his shoulders, looking around to find something to do. “Find me the worst person here.” She asked, turning back to the crowd whispering about her and she decided to do the same. “There she is, Nancy Dale.” He whispered, gesturing with his eyes to her so nobody notices. “Oh, Alphonse' ex? I should have known.” She smirked wickedly, biting her bottom lip in thrill. She would love to burn her and raze this evening for her. “You know?” Louis asked since he slept he didn’t know she met her at shopping. “Yeah. I judged her already, she seems like the person who would throw hands with one taunt.” Aurelia replied nonchalantly. “How do you know?” he asked, taken aback by how she knows that she throws tantrums, an utter brat. “Experience. I am a cop after all.” She smirked victoriously, grabbing another drink. “What a pathetic choice. The worst. Right?” She asked, making an disgusted face when she stared at her laughing with her friend. “I want to argue with it but I will surely lose,” Louis said, nodding in agreement. “Because I am right. Did she put her gun on his head to date her?” She asked, doing what everybody else is doing here. Judging. “He had to... For work… but lost his patience with her but she is still after him.” Louis told her, wanting to see her reaction after knowing that she is still after Alphonse. “I hope she doesn’t kill me to take my place.” She mumbled, shaking her head to throw this thought out because she was the rich brat. She can. “Don’t worry, Boss won’t let it.” He chuckled at her comment. “He better not. I don’t want to die young.” She muttered, not preferring to die so soon, observing the hall and saw her walking towards her. Taking a step back, she narrowed her eyes in hostility. “Oh, Lord, she is coming here.”
