River's POV:
I couldn't believe Mari thought she wouldn't make a good mom. I had never met such a wonderful wolf before. I knew she would be an amazing mother. Even if I was biased. Nina had even mentioned her having pups with me. Everyone knew I wanted at least two. Being the only pup, my parents had put a lot of pressure on me to be the best I could be. I wanted better for my pups. I wanted them to be able to relax and enjoy doing stupid young wolf things.
Once Mari was fully asleep, I stood and got dressed. I headed downstairs to see Maddie. She had another wolf she was tending to. I smelled a strong whiff of blood.
