River's POV:
I felt panic take over as Mari's eyes started to glow. I held her arms, but I didn't know if she could hear me. Then all at once I felt a rush of soothing warmth through my whole body. The slight tiredness in my muscles vanished, and my mouth fell open in wonder. I had only felt such a feeling once before. When the Goddess had healed me at my mother's request. Did Mari have such a power? Her eyes stopped glowing, and her body slumped in exhaustion.
"Woah." I caught her and easily lifted her into my arms. I shifted her into one arm and lifted my other to touch her cheek softly. "Mari? Are you okay?" She looked up to meet my eyes and she nodded slightly. She sure didn't look alright. She looked like that had drained her completely. She didn't have a wolf's stamina yet. I frown
