I Was Destined To be The Alpha

The clock is ticking. Moon is full like the eyes that sees everything, it gives light to every depths of the forest. Every member of the pack is waiting for the right time. Ken, the leader of the pack, the one's being called the Alpha of the pack, is patiently waiting at my side holding my both trembling hands. "Psyche, every thing will be alright." "I know, as long as you are at my side I will be alright Ken." I said. "A couple of minutes to go we will be seeing our little one, I can't wait to hold him in my own hands." "You sure? I thought you were afraid to hold him because you might break his bones." Teasingly talking to Ken. "Nay, that was said before and it really differs now." Answering me. "Haha really? But seriously, Am I gonna labor a wolf instead of a baby?" "Of course it's gonna be a wolf you know his father is kinda wolf man." "Your mocking me Ken, aren't you?" I'm already confused. But he explained to me that I am giving birth to a baby first then if he turns 18 already he will be transformed into a wolf. He must practice the power in him in order to control his wolf being and to easily transform from a human into a wolf and a wolf into a human. It might be the hardest battle on enabling himself to transform from human figure into a wolf but if you are strong enough that would be more easier. "Did you struggled from your first transformation?" I asked him. "Of course I'm not. I'm strong didn't you knew that?" "Whatever!" I said to Ken. Someone slammed the door, "Alpha, Kier's pack is now heading to our hide out. Joe saw them from North heading on their way here." Kev startled. "How many are they?" "About 50 or more." Said the boy about sixteen years old. "Jib, call your brother Jimpson and the rest of the guy member we will meet them 2 miles from here. Does everyone already know about this?" Ken said to Jib. "Only the hunters know about this for now. The ladies and young were not being told yet." "Good, tell Jimpson he leads the hunters. They must go first near the lake I will be there in a couple of minutes. Then find Atasha, tell her to evacuate the old and young ones to underground immediately. They must be in the safest place." Jimpson, Atasha and Jib were siblings from Kev's uncle, they are cousins and both are orphans since childhood. But they were taken care of by the remaining pact of their fathers. Kev was the only one who was sent to human world to hide from the wrath of their enemies. While listening to Ken directing the boy I am getting worried for what might happen. Ken was already serious and I knew it already that something bad is happening right now. I feel anxious for this. Ken continues on his directions. "Call Celestine, she is needed her to attend Psyche!" When I heard him saying it, I startled. "What!? aren't you staying at my side Ken? That's what you told me earlier!" I'm now frustrated from what I've heard from him. Ken didn't listen, he is still facing to the boy. The boy is about to go hurriedly. "Copy Alpha!" After the boy left, Ken turns to face me with an insipid look in his face. "Psyche, Im going out tonight. I need to solve this right away or else worst might happen if I let Kier to be here. This pack will be in danger, even you and mostly my son." "Why?" The only word I uttered after hearing Ken. He explained "my brother's here, Kier, the one's I told you before. He wants to kill me and my son so he could own this pack. He wants to lead them. My father chose me to replace him as the Alpha because he perceived that Kier doesn't deserve to replace him. He is dying for power. He is selfish and destructive. He can't be a good leader." "But why does he want to kill our son? I can't believe he wants to kill his own nephew." I complained. "Please Ken, don't go in there. I need you, we need you. Your son needs you the most!" "No Psyche, I must go there. I need to kill my brother first before he could harm anybody here, especially you and our son. I won't let that happen. I must protect everyone. That's my responsibility as the Alpha and as a father." I could see how painful it is for Ken but there is determination in his gestures. "Celestine will attend to you. She will help you in the birthing process. And Cam's staying outside this room so he could protect you if somebody might come to hurt you." I will protect this pack at all cost Psyche. I want you to understand." "But what about me? I wanted you to be here. I need you." I said to Ken pleadingly. He comes nearer, holds my face and whisper to my ear. "Please my love, bore my child and protect him. If I won't come back, tell him I love him. Give him love and care the way I show it to you." I'm already crying. Suddenly, the door opens, a woman came in about forties. She must be Celestine. "Alpha, every one is being evacuated and Cam is already outside. The hunters and all the males are now heading north to meet Kier's pack. They will wait you at lake. You must hurry then." She said. "Alright, make sure to protect my child Celestine. If I won't make it, bring them to a safer place." "I know." She answered. "I will go now." Ken told me. He wiped my tears and said in a whisper "I love you always, you and our child are precious to me." " You must come back alive for our son Ken! Promise me!" I shouted before he could open the door. Then he turned to face me and smiled sweetly. He rush to the door and went outside hurriedly. I could hear his wolf voice groaning in a distance. I burst into tears after I couldn't hear his voice anymore. - 17 years After - "Ken, aren't you going school? You will have exams today, your teacher told me yesterday." "I don't like school Celestine, it's a boring place. I'm not belong in there, we're not belong in this place." I answered her. "No Kev, this is the only place we can hide. This is the only place we can be safe." This what Celestine always telling me. I grew up being afraid to someone I did not know at all. Living for many years hiding to someone who is supposedly my Uncle. Celestine told me everything about my family. About my father and mother. It really hurts me knowing that I was the only one left. My parents died when I was very young. My father sacrificed his life to protect the wolf family and me. My mother sacrificed her life to protect me and be able to escape from my Uncle's plan on killing me. Celestine was the one who raised me. Jimpson was my guardian while Jib was my playmate when I was young. They are always protecting me. Ever since I was young, I was being told not to go near the forest or woods. f*******n to stay outside alone. We we're living in Limpshide a small province away from the place of our family origin, the Loopshood. Although it was miles away but Celestine doubted that maybe Kier will find me. It is easily for him to locate us because he has a lot of connections from different places. I once asked Celestine that maybe Kier is tired of looking for me. He is too old already to kill me but she just said every wolf when they have reached the adulthood stage they became stronger, more powerful. That is why she keeps me hidden, she wants me to always around with humans so that Kier won't recognize me. Jib is always with me he sends me to school and fetch me after school. Even until now that I'm about to turn 18 he always stays at my side. Jimpson is working at the mining. His wages are given to Celestine in order to budget for our food and needs. Jib also helps him sometimes if he has available time. Usually after school Jimpson assigns Jib to practice my inner power by some physical work. He said this enables me to strengthen by body and inner wolf. And to focus on controlling my strength and power. We only do this during evening where nobody can see us. They help me to be stronger and wiser. Sometimes I got tired for all those things but they always reminded me to priorities those things because if the right time comes I will be meeting our packs member. I will be the one who is responsible to protect them just like what my father did. I am not sure if I can make it I am just so young but whenever I remember what had happened to my family
