I still have the taste of my brother’s blood in my mouth as I shift back. He made a lot of bad choices, but it shouldn’t have resulted in his death. I’ll mourn him later, but for now, I need to see if there’s anything I can do for my Luna. She hasn’t yet officially taken up the position, nor has she officially joined the pack, but it doesn’t matter. She’s Jarek’s mate, which is as much information as I need to treat her as family. I can tell by his reaction that she’s still alive, although I don’t know how that’s possible with the amount of blood pooling underneath her.
