Chapter 36. Ryeka

1747 Words

There is a beeping noise that is slowly driving me insane. I don’t know where I am. The last thing I remember was Chase’s wolf, and pain, and then what had to be a dream. My cat sat on me and opened the eye she’s missing. Inside, where I expected to see an empty socket, instead was full of stars, galaxies, universes. I felt like I had been pulled forward and into the void that was so full of life. And it was all connected. Like roots in a forest or neurons in a brain, every life force was connected to each other and I felt the warmth of countless lives all unknowingly working together. There was a tether-like connection that was stronger and more secure attached to me, and focusing on it, I could clearly feel Jarek. It made me feel calmer, seeing how strong our bond was to each other.
