Children of the Dak I
Something was wrong. Ben had noticed some time ago. The new house, new town, new neighbors. It was all... so fast for him. Earlier, he had decided to dismiss the subject. Thinking about it was a dreadful reminder of the past, so he decided to try and let it go.
The people in the town seemed nice enough - to their selves! Each time Ben went grocery shopping, people would look at him like he was some kind of freak. One evening, he decided that enough was enough. He was going to get to the bottom of the matter. While shopping - as usual - he intentionally began to lean in and eavesdrop on fellow shoppers . He obtained a lot of gossip and news, yet it felt like something was missing from it. Eventually, while trying to listen to a conversation, he pushed some toilet paper off the shelf. While trying to pick them up, a lady approached him and tried to help him out . She looked like one of the staff, so Ben apologized for the mess. But then, she told him that she was more sorry for him. Why? She began explaining to him that everyone thought of him as a strange fellow because he dared to live in House no_ 52, even after all the murders. Ben wanted to know more but the woman was called away by another staff. That night, while going home, Ben contemplated on what the woman had told him. About his house, the murders. Was it even true? Ben didn't know. Just then, he saw a young boy at his bedroom window staring directly at him . Before disappearing, the boy smiled, then went back into the darkness. An illusion... surely... it had to be! That night as Ben struggled to sleep, he felt a large body rest on him, gripping his hands and legs at the same time and just as he was about to open his eyes, something whispered in his ears " Sleep" and immediately he fell into a great slumber. He opened his eyes and saw himself in a dark and void room, laying on his bed. Then, slowly a creature slithered towards the bed holding his feet and dragging him away. Ben felt helpless in all this barely squeezing on to his bedspread. He'd wanted to scream, but made no such noise.
