"Eww, who let the human in?" A high-pitched squeal sounded from behind me. It took both Macey and me by surprise and caused baby Joel to jump and start to cry. Macey stood up from her seat, shaking her head and picked Joel up out of his highchair to comfort him.
I turned around, scowling at the inconsiderate person who would make a scene and upset the baby like that.
"Calm down, look what you've done" I said calmly, as I stood and pointed to a now calming Joel.
"It'll get over it, don't worry" She said, looking down her nose at me. "I'm more interested in why you are here, upsetting me." She said, squinting her eyes and crossing her arms across her chest.
