"You have to tell her." Stacie looked at the desperate look in her girlfriend's eyes. Sighing she sat down on the bed. "I know I have to but... how?" Aubrey sat down next to Stacie and began stroking her brunette wavy hair. She heard a soft sob against her chest. "Baby don't cry, I'm sure it isn't that bad." Aubrey tried to reassure her. "She needs brain surgery, Aubrey." Stacie sniffed. "That woman is like a second mother to me." The blonde knew how much Caren meant to Stacie, she knew something was wrong as soon as she saw the brunette's expression when she stepped into the dorm an hour ago. Of course, Aubrey asked where has she been the whole afternoon but Stacie couldn't answer. "Stace, talk to me. What's wrong?" The blonde had asked rubbing the taller girl's back. "This morning I received a text from Caren, Beca's mom." Aubrey could hear Stacie's voice trembling and it was killing her. "She told me to visit her as soon as I was free, I knew there was something out of place I had this feeling." The brunette tried to suppress a sob, warm tears began streaming down her face as she remembered the events from earlier. Caren opened the door for Stacie a minute after said girl rang the doorbell. "Hey Stace, what brings you here?" The older woman sweetly asked. Stacie laughed thinking it was one of Caren's jokes. "You told me to come." The woman furrowed her eyebrows. "I did?" Stacie nodded. "Then come inside. I must have forgotten, old me." Caren said letting the younger woman in. "We chatted like old times, Bree, but her mind seemed to be somewhere else." Stacie continued to tell Aubrey. The brunette recalled sitting down on the couch next to Caren as they talked. "How's Beca doing at school, I don't know why she isn't home yet." Stacie looked confused at the woman in front of her. "Beca graduated last year, she's in L.A., you signed the permission papers." Stacie explained looking at the woman's confused expression. The woman's face went from confused to disgusted as she quickly rushed to the bathroom and threw up. Stacie sat there worried. "I guess eating healthy just isn't for me." Caren laughed as she sat down again near Stacie. "You know I love you, and you can tell me anything." The younger girl said taking Caren's hand in hers. "What's going on?" Caren sighed. "Honestly, I don't know." "Let's run some tests to make sure everything is in place, okay?" She gently asked looking at the older woman who nodded in response. "Once we arrived at the hospital a doctor took us to his office." Stacie continued to tell. "Apparently she's been diagnosed some time ago but she didn't remember, she has a Glioblastoma." Meanwhile in L.A. Beca was finishing the arrangements to her late anniversary with Chloe. "You better be out of the healthcare center by 8." Beca spoke over the phone as she drove her car. "I'll pick you up." Chloe giggled as she changed into her clothes. "All this mystery is making me anxious." Beca rolled her eyes even though her girlfriend couldn't see her, Chloe knew Beca was doing it. "I can't believe we forgot our own anniversary." The red head said. "I got you something though." "s**t, what is it?" Beca asked. "You have to wait you weirdo." Chloe laughed. "If you could wait nine months to get out of your mom's womb you can wait a couple of hours." "If you knew me you'd know I was born two months earlier so that argument is not valid with me." Beca defended herself making Chloe laugh even harder. "Got to go babe, see you at eight." She stepped into the studio knowing damn well how long the next two hours would be. "Beca!" Jesse said from his laptop. "Guess what came in my emails today." Beca sighed. "Is the damn movie, isn't it?" Jesse nodded with an enthusiastic grin. He moved to a side of the couch and patted next to him telling Beca to sit down. In order to make a song for a movie, they had to watch it to understand the plot, the personality of the characters, the chemistry between each one of them. It wasn't easy, specially to Beca who wants fond in movies. "I hate having you as best friend and music director." Beca sighed as she moved in her seat for the fifteenth time. Jesse smirked as he shook his head. "Just up is almost done." "If watching movies is awful, watching them without music is awful-er." Beca complaint. Jesse laughed, his eyes not leaving the screen. "That isn't even a word." "Now it is." She said standing up. "And is a perfect match for this movie." She grabbed the studios phone and dialed a number. "Yes, tell them to come." Within minutes, the studio's door opened and the directors of the movie made their way inside. The meeting with the directors was a crucial part of making a song for the movie, they had to know what they want for the song or otherwise they won't take it. Stepping out of one of the patient's room, Emily caught a glimpse of red hair rushing as she delivered charts. "Chloe." Emily yelled catching the girl's attention. "Em, what's up." The girl then noticed the amount of flowers and magazines on the girl's hands. "Why so many?" She asked grabbing one of the magazines. "Oh, I'm delivering stuff to the patients." The you get girl shrugged. "So, how's the drill tonight? Do I have to evacuate the house and crash somewhere else or are you two going to be silent?” She giggled earning a slap on the arm from Chloe. "I actually don't know, she's planned everything without telling me so I just have to look pretty and wait for her to pick me up." Chloe explained handing another chart to a doctor. "I don't see why you can't stay at home." "Cool, I'll sleep with headphones on. No worries." Beca was midway through the reunion with the directors when her phone rang. Jesse shot a look at his friend telling her to silence the gadget. "Sorry." She excused herself as she turned the phone off. Stacie groaned. "She turned it off." "I'm sure she will call back as soon as she can, she never ditches your calls." Aubrey reassured, she didn't know how to make her girlfriend feel better. "She better call." Half an hour later, Stacie's phone rang. "Dude, what happened?" Beca said as soon as Stacie picked up. "Hi Bec." Stacie nervously greeted her. Beca rolled her eyes. "You never call so early. Something's up Stace, I know you so spill." She said with her phone between her cheek and her shoulder as she put her laptop in her backpack. "I need you to sit, okay?" Stacie said trying to keep her cool. Beca's heart began to race. "Stace, what's going on? Are you okay?" She asked worried putting her stuff down. Stacie began sobbing again, she just couldn't hold it in. "Jesus." She said under her breath. Beca patiently waited until her friend calmed down. "Your mom. She isn't okay, Becs." Her sobs became louder, Beca's world stopped spinning as her friend spoke. "They found a glioblastoma in your mom's brain." A single hot tear rolled down Beca's cheek. "I'm so sorry Be-" "How bad is it?" Beca interrupted, brushing the tear away with her hand. Stacie was taken aback by her friend's cold response. "Is bad." Her friend said as calm as she could. "Please come back." Becs nodded, gripping the phone tightly. "Thanks for the heads up." She said before ending the call. She looked around her, no one was with her. Her knees gave in as she fell to the floor, she tried her hardest to keep the tears inside breathing in as much air as she could eventually succeeding. Slowly standing up, she finished to pick up her stuff and peacefully left the building and got into her car. She took out her phone and dialed another number as she drove. "This is her; I need a car." By eight o'clock, Chloe was already outside the building waiting for her girlfriend to pick her up. It's been a long hard day for her but having a romantic dinner with Beca was something that she knew would make her day better. Half an hour passed and there were no signs of Beca, suddenly a black car pulled near Chloe. A woman in a suit got out of the car as she looked around the street. "Chloe Beale?" She asked. Chloe nodded with a confused look on her face. "Please step into the car, Miss Mitchell gave me the order to take you home." For a moment Chloe thought this was part of Beca's plan but then realized her girlfriend wouldn't trust some unknown woman to pick her up, reluctantly she got into the car. "She's really sorry." The woman said starting the engine and driving off. A/N well s**t. Opinions?
