Sleeping beauty had been awake and she felt like there was something they were not telling her, asked her the female Dr Russell who was the sister to the two who checked on her everyday, but she also was not interested in telling her what it is that she was not suppose to know even though she knew it would affect her life and with her luck she knew it would be negative. She sat on the wheelchair she was told she was on temporarily since her legs how to work and Dr Jason Russell promised he would get her back on her feet before she knew it.
The door opened behind her and she didn't bother looking at who came in, she needed the truth and if she turned around she would lose the courage to ask because she felt guilty for the way they took good care of her in the last six months. It sounded so long in her head, six months practically dead, she would probably be a ghost in the real world when she goes back. "Good morning, how are you feeling today?" Dr Alexander Russell said from behind her. "I appreciate everything you have done for me the last six months, but I'm going to need you to tell me whatever secret the hospital is keeping from me, it's making me more anxious by the day," she said turning to look at him, just so she would know if he is lying to her. " Okay, when I found you, not only were you wearing a wedding ring, you dress placed you with New York's upper than the usual upper class. Your wedding looked to cost around $500 000 and the dress you wore was Dolce and Gabbana, but that is not what I'm here to tell you. You were six months pregnant when I found you. You gave birth to a healthy baby boy and has grown up her in the hospital, we couldn't give him up for adoption in case you woke up, which I hoped you would. We named him Andrew and of course you could change it, today you will be making his birth certificate and a temporary identity for yourself, just until you remember and..." he was explaining but she heard nothing after he told her she had a baby boy, she didn't know the baby but she had a love for him she didn't know existed until now. Just then Samantha walked in with they baby boy, "...he should be able to recognize you because we would bring him to you everyday.
As if this couldn't get any worse, she had an extra mouth to feed. How was she going to take care of this perfect creature in her arms. He looked at her with so much love and the tears that had been threatening to fall finally did, she couldn't keep the baby, she wouldn't be able to take care of him, she wouldn't even be able to take care of her own self. "I can't keep him, I wouldn't be able to take care of him, I have nowhere to go, no job, no support system whatsoever, he is better off with people that will be able to keep him safe and be able to provide for him." she said in tears as she held on to the little boy so tight. "Not true, you can take care of him, social services took an interest in your case and they have three available apartments that they are offering you. They will pay your rent for three months and help you find a job. The social worker is coming in in the next 30 minutes to tell you. Then tomorrow we will go see the apartments," Dr Russell looked like he had given this so much thought on her behalf and she was happy someone had because she didn't really want to give her baby up.
She sat there that evening with her baby, her new name Casey Smith and her son Andrew Jared Smith. She knew she would be answering to that name and right now it might not feel natural, but the good thing was that it was until she remembered her real name she was told she could change Andrew's name too, "My name is Casey Smith," she said looking at herself in the mirror and Dr Russell Snr walked in looking rather businesslike today, "Mrs Smith I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but now that you are all good and well the board has discussed your case and they came to the conclusion that we need to discharge you by Friday, I'm really sorry," the old man said and walked out before he could say anything more, she didn't want to kick her out and if he stayed he would have said f**k the hospital, stay as long as you need.
Bad news had made themselves at home in her life, at least she had the three apartments social services were offering her. All that mattered now was that life must go on, whether she was ready or not, life did not wait for her the last six months and was not going to start now. She just couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the way things are happening. She was so deep in thought that she didn't hear Alexander walk in. "Casey my father just told me what he told you, are you okay?" he asked sitting next to her. She turned and looked at him with those green eyes that he spent half of his day trying not to think about, because as annoying as Jason is, he is right about him having feeling for his Sleeping Beauty because deep down he felt like the prince that kissed her to wake up, but instead of a kiss, he used medicine. "Everything is just happening so fast, I mean what happens if I don't find a job in the three months, how would I take care of not only myself, but Andrew as well," she was in tears and it took everything in him to not take her in his arms and kiss her. "I could find you a buyer for your wedding ring, $500 000 is enough to keep you afloat for a year or two," he said and he saw the way she looked at him that she was grateful for the idea, "...how about I go get that started for you, and whoever buys it will be a close friend so you can trust them." She was not even thinking about that right now, she was worried about how she would go see the apartments tomorrow because the only person she had gotten close enough to ask is working tomorrow. "Dr Russell would you be able to take me to view the apartments with me?" she asked looking rather shy because even though Dr Russell has been her doctor, they were not friends and not even a little close. He just looked at her in a way she did not recognize and told her, "I took tomorrow off to take you, I hope I was not too forward," he said looking at her with so much love, she noticed that was a look only reserved for her at the hospital, because even though he is close to Sam, they are just friends, closer than he is even with his own sister.
