After the photoshoot they went back home to prepare for Sam and Jason's arrival, Andrew was napping when his aunty and uncle arrived. Casey couldn't wait to tell Sam what Xander had said about not caring about biology and Andrew, as much as she was angry, those words were quick to calm her down, in fact, after those words, she was sure nothing break them up. More so, with the way their relationship had grown over the past year.
How was it that this man was able make her fall in love with him over and over again, just when she thinks she knows him, he shows a different and better than the one before side of him. She even dared the universe to bring it's worst, they would get through it together. Little did she know that the universe took such challenges very seriously. Finally the birthday boy woke and they sang the birthday song to him. He was so happy, it was as if he knew what was happening. While the grown ups there, talking and laughing, they all turned around when they heard the front door open, they thought it was Noah because they had invited him and he said he couldn't because he had a date. The atmosphere in the room instantly went dark when they all saw it was Cara. She also saw it, which made her even more mad. "So Jason you're his enabler, this is why dad had told you to stay away from him. You're all sitting here as if everything is okay, this poor girl needs help and you Alexander are taking advantage of her vulnerability." Cara yelled at her older brothers and when Alexander was about to open his mouth to defend himself, it was as if he was making her even angrier, "...have you even told her about the previous girls, have you told her she and her son are not safe around you." "Cara get out, you cannot come here and ruin my son's birthday. If there is something between me and Casey to be discussed, it will be between us. In fact I owe you no explanation, get the f**k out."
After the encounter with Cara left everyone feeling awkward, all that was left was for everyone to just go home. Sam and Jason said their goodbyes and left. When Casey walked them to their car, Alexander stayed and cleared the dishes, put the cake and the left overs in the fridge. Sam told her to keep an open mind, and to remember the good guy she knows and not the bad guy from the past. They left and she was not sure she wanted to hear about those other girls, but she had to, for her safety and the safety of her son. She got in and found that he had put Andrew to bed, and cleared the dishes. He was waiting for her by the kitchen counter watching the front door, she felt her knees buckle. She wished she was as clueless and happy as she was earlier that afternoon. "I suppose you want to know if there is true to anything Cara said today," he said as she slowly walked toward him, not sure how much distance to put between them. "In all the months we have been together, there is nothing you ever did that would make me feel that Andrew and I are not safe around you, but what happened with the other girls?" she said feeling a pang of jealousy, was he playing her for a fool? Did the hospital know countless girls and all the doctors and nurses knew her to be a fool for falling for a playboy like Alexander, "...how many have there been since me?" "No, it's not like that," he hesitated, he was not sure how to start, this would be the first time he says it out loud to someone, most just know the unfortunate incidents, "...I have a mental disorder, I have an alter ego that calls himself the beast. He can bend the will of women, making me irresistible, A woman would rather die than be without me. There was a point in my life when that attention was what I lived for and as a result a few women killed themselves for me." "Where is this beast now?" she asked her face as red a tomato with anger, "...have you ever used him on me?" "Only once when we were having s*x, I'm sorry," he said too honest. "Will I suffer the same fate as the other girls? Will I die for you too," she asked feeling the sting of tears threatening to fall. "It doesn't work like that, you have never spoken to the beast before," he said moving towards her and she took a few steps back, afraid. "I'm going to take Andrew and I to a hotel, while I try to wrap my head around everything that is happening. I want to stay with you because I love you, not because some beast compelled me," she said making her way to their room and him tailing her. "No! I'll go, I can't have my son leave the only place he knows because I was not honest with you from the start. I'll come back here because you invited me," he took out a bag and started packing without giving her a choice, for the sake of their son, after packing he went to Andrew's room to kiss him goodbye for now. On his way to the door he stopped to look at her, "...Casey I love you, don't forget that."
